We would like to see what minor actions we can take to encourage users to vote more frequently on content they visit. These experiments will only be visible to those with voting privileges. I might be among the users who rarely upvote, but that is because very few posts deserve an upvote. The other answers are correct that using 'upvote' as a verb sounds better, and is more concise. But if you wanted to use upvote as a noun, you can use to/for/on as the preposition - however the verb in the sentence makes a difference too. "Put an upvote on a question" isn't very natural, but "cast an upvote on a question" is. I'm usually the first to advocate being welcoming to newcomers and less experienced members, but I only believe an upvote is warrented if the question is actually worthy of an upvote by itself. I don't personally tend to downvote first posts with minor issues, but if it was technically warranted by some measure, I just won't vote at all. Accepting and upvoting an answer are separate, independent actions. You are encouraged to upvote any solution which is useful 1, and to accept the one which solved your problem or was most helpful in finding your solution 2. This means that yes, usually you'd upvote and accept the answer which helped you most. So while in other smaller communities an upvote might function as a type of encouragement to the poster, your question is fine, there's nothing wrong with it, but it might take a while till someone answers (there are simply not that many members available to answer). It hasn't been fixed yet (1 day later, so likely hasn't had time). I can't remove the upvote because the answer hasn't been edited since my upvote. Currently it's the highest voted answer... Is there a better way to get the upvote removed than editing the answer myself? If you make a second account to upvote yourself. Aside from those cases, there aren't strict, enforceable rules for what to upvote. The guideline is to upvote good, clear, helpful posts. From the sounds of it, the answers on your question meet this criteria, so definitely feel free to upvote them! Personally, I will upvote anything that is helpful or interesting, but I am careful not to upvote incorrect information. Many questions are too specific to the asker's situation, and therefore not interesting to me. Answers on topics I don't know about could be wrong, so either I have to take time to verify the information, or just skip it. Questions/answers with a lot of upvotes tend to be ... Upvote and the hyphenated up-vote work because they are compounds and create a new verb. Though the resulting word is not in a dictionary, it works because it follows logical/existing morphology patterns, whereby the prefix 'up-' modifies the verb 'vote'. The accepted answer to “Upvote” vs. “up vote” vs. “up-vote” by Karl (whose profile says that they are an " EFL Teacher and Teacher Trainer") on the English Language & Usage Stack Exchange says: Within the nomenclature of this site, upvote seems to be the accepted term.

2025.01.31 04:22 TheDeadYeti 2011 Chevy Malibu Service ESC power steering keeps on reappearing, then be okay.
If car sits in idle for 40sec to a minute, the service ESC power steering appears and the steering wheel becomes hard to move. I would start the car and turn it off, to turn back on for the steering wheel to be normal again and good to move. Not sure what is going on, any thoughts?

Hello all!
Today I turned in my resignation letter and after discussing financial compensation is a big part of why I’m leaving the I was offered the chance to talk about better compensation rather then me leaving.
Pros: I wouldn’t have to learn another new job and I would have more pay. There’s room for multiple promotions in the near future. We are meeting tomorrow morning.
Cons: This would likely cause ripples amongst the team I work with as it would likely make its way out. There’s also a large chance I may be offered a promotion to replace a team member we will be loosing and me receiving that promotion over an older employee will likely cause resentment. I would have to tell the new job I would like to rescind the offer.
What would you ask for? Any general advice for someone who has never been in the position before?

I don’t think anybody truly understands what it feels like to be in your 20s. Everyone says, “You’re still young, you haven’t experienced anything yet,” but that’s exactly what makes it so frustrating.
This is the age where you have to start figuring out who you’re going to be—an adult, responsible for your own future. All your life, people told you what to do: Be a good kid. Take your required classes. Just finish this, and then that. But then, after high school, they throw you out into the world with no real direction.
What now? College demands money just to gain knowledge—so where are you supposed to work to afford tuition? I was always told to just keep my grades up, but now I’m stuck wondering: Is this even what I want? Should I keep going to college, or should I just focus on making money so I can survive?
Everything feels overwhelming, like I’m starting from scratch again. Freedom sounded exciting, but at this age, it just feels confusing.
I guess this is what first time feels like

So I've beaten the first the run and gun and got all the gold coins. I think my rank was B so maybe it has something to due with that? I thought beating the first one would unlock the second but I can't get to it.
