2025.01.31 05:54 my0nop1non Season 2 was alright, but felt like a step down from S1: Some thoughts
1: Continuity: We end last season with Own recognizing he needs to stop rushing headfirst into danger. Then season 2 there is one dialogue of him saying basically "nah, imma keep doing that... After he almost dies!!!" This is an emotional tone switch that does not honor Owen's growth from the previous season. Of course I want Owen to get back out there, but there has to be some setup!!! Let him get a boring ass deskjob for a while and realize he isn't happy or something...
2: Spending time in Korea was cool but it felt forced to me. He gets a greymailer at the exact moment he's in the rubber room, and also happens to have an old flame from there, and then she tags along for the final action sequence?? This is plot forcing and it's not subtle, so it damages the immersion. This show shines as an espionage movie not James Bond knockoff.
3: I didn't understand what the value of giving Anna a sad honeypot arc. Didn't push the story forward, that airtime could have been spent better elsewhere imo.
4: Weird ending... Basically, we got lucky!! A nearby sub saved our butts. Didn't feel plausible.
5: All these fight sequences!!! It felt so... Plot armory. Season 1 didn't rely on Owen's ability to magically dodge automatic rifle fire for like 2 minutes straight and somehow hold his own against gangsters. I hate sequences that make enemies act like storm troopers.
6: Another superfluous arc in the show was the Janus arc. Turns out he was a golden boy and has all these layers I guess.
7: I like that everyone is out for themselves, and that the "no loyalty" aspect is still in full effect, creates so much chaos.
8: Nichka is a fun character, she has a lot in common with Owen. Be fun to see more of that develop if possible, (But justify it!!)
Final thoughts:
With only 6 episodes to work with, I think that plot devices to help develop setup, the pacing, and the ending got neglected. I think that the writers tried to do too much without the requisite episode time and they ended up making an ok season rather than a great one.
I wish they would have devoted more screentime to making Owen antics seem more reasonable. His skills are in his charisma, foolish bravery, and thinking on his feet, lean on that more! If you want him to get in more fights and beat people up, justify it, make him learn some self defense.

Can someone explain to me why Yolande is totally cool with encouraging Nigel to go on a date? Not just coffee, not just companionship or someone to talk to, but a date with this Norma woman. Yolande knows Nigel walked out on his longtime partner, Julia, aka his wife, is that not a sacred thing? Seems totally out of character for her to be like 'hey you should totally go on a date with someone after you walked out on your wife who must be worried sick about you by the way'... She gave Nigel that talking-to in the launderette the other day, she knows exactly well that Nigel has a partner who is worried. Why on earth is she saying he should go out on a date, and why is he even entertaining it and wondering if this new woman would be interestied in him?! This makes absolutely no sense for any of them.

The sidebar says SoC takes around 32 hours. I've already logged about that much, but I don't think I'm near the end yet.
I just got back from X16 and talked to the scientists before returning to the Bar. I'm now talking with the Duty guys about getting an RPG for them. My main objective is getting to the Brain Scorcher.
I'd really like any tips about how much of the game is left, and how to best complete it. I'm really excited for the Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 release next week, and hoping to be done with this first. But I may not have enough time for that.

Hi, I’m a student taking an entrepreneurship challenge in uni and I have a few questions about an industry I'm exploring.
From what I’ve seen and heard, many people are looking to buy houses without an agent, and listing agents obviously want to maximize their clients’ home prices and their commissions. I am wondering if there is interest in a home marketplace for unrepresented buyers. My idea proposes a new commission structure.
It appears that, generally, there is a 2.5% commission for the selling agent and a 2.5% commission for the buying agent. By cutting out the buying agent and increasing the selling agent’s commission to 3–4%, everyone theoretically benefits—the buyer pays less, and the listing agents receive higher commissions. In exchange, the listing agent would pay a marketplace fee and be required to offer house showings.
If you have any opinions, i'd love to hear them as I need at least 10 for the project.

In my living room, I have about fifteen Matter lightbulbs that are working really well. The problem is that my family are in the habit of hitting the wall light switch to turn them off at night, which of course means that they’re no longer controllable as smart bulbs.
Is there a light switch I can use that acts as a controller to my existing smart bulbs rather than actively trying to be a smart switch itself? I can’t seem to find what I’m looking for online. I don’t really want to replace the lights themselves: they otherwise work well as it is.

I am hoping to get more consistent about going to the gym. My fitness goals include increasing my athletic stamina and gaining a moderate amount of muscle.
My preferences are
- Gym with good culture (I am motivated/kept consistent by people/social relationships)
-In southern Coralville or west side IC (I don't want to drive too far)
-Reasonable price (want to get a good value, and don't want a year long contract, in case it doesn't work out)

Was at the hard rock casino in Davie, FL. BJ started off great (25$ min table) was up 300 in about 20 minutes. New dealer comes in. I lose probably about 22/30 hands all with 2/3/6/5 and 2nd card being a 10 just all bad hands.
My final attempt was a 8/8 vs 4. So I split....get another 8. I hit the first for a 7. stand
hit the second for a 5 stand. then hit for a three on the third. Which I of course double. get a 4...
Dealer flips 10-A-3. totaling 18.
Would you of hit all your hands again?
