This is a long one, so buckle up.
So, I watched a playthrough of the new chapter of Poppy Playtime and, well, I'm not really happy with it. The cinematic trailers of the characters really got me hyped up about Safe Haven, but the in-game content sucks, in my opinion.
First of all, the most obvious dissapointment is Pianosaurus. I honestly don't think I even need to explain this one, but I really need to rant so I will anyway. Mob, what were you thinking when you put him in the game? Like many others have said, it is such a waste of a character. His design was really well made and it is the one that got me the most excited for the chapter. I wanted to see him in action sooo bad. Maybe being a massive menace to the player or use his piano keys to alert his allies (Yarnaby and the Nightmare Critters) about the location of the player. It would've made the game so much scarier because you know someone's always after you tail. Guess what we got though? A Pianosaurus bigger body that was simply munching on what I assume was another toy, who then heard our fall and as it begun to chase us, it was destroyed by Doey in no time. Like, seriously? Miss Delight was never advertised but she got something that had me on the edge of my chair. SIGHHHH, I think you get it.
Then, we have Doctor Sawyer. The only thing that dissapointed me about him is that we never got to see his body, like in the trailers. I was really hoping that we'd confront him face to face after going through his robot minions. I really wanted to see what he fully looked like since we could only see his silhouette in the trailers. If I remember correctly, we DID enter the place where he was in the trailers. Instead, he just burried himself so deep that no one could ever find him. I don't know, I'm a little dissapointed about that. Also, talking about his robotic minions, it didn't seem like they were too much of a challenge considering the playthrough I watched. The person just dashed through them as if they never even existed. They made it seem way too easy and not scary. I guess the counter argument to my argument is that I did not experience the game with my own hands, so of course I didn't find it as scary as I think I would've if I played it myself (not going to because I generally don't like to spend money on non replayable games). Other than that, I think Doctor Sawyer was actually a pretty dope character. Love his voice and his lines! It makes him very intriguing and I loved learning more about him.
You might of seen my previous post, but I still do not understand the point of Nightmare Critters!! I think it is mentionned in the game that they are made to gross kids out. But man, Mob, you could've made them a little bit more threatning that they currently are. If I remember correctly, they're simply a copy paste of the Smiling Critters, but with, well, a Nightmare design instead. Otherwise, they do the exact same thing as the Smiling batch, such as jumping on the player or getting scared by the fire. It sucks, in my opinion. And the bigger body Baba Chops also does the same thing as the smaller ones, but just slightly more dangerous and poisons you (?). I think if they would've gave him a body that ressembles Catnap's and made him much more dangerous, he would've actually been a scary antagonist. Imagine a skinny, mistreated Baba Chops that would charge at you while you're in the tight space, looking for batteries. I would personally piss my pants. But yeah, once again, the Nightmare Critters could've been worked on a lot more.
One other complaint I have is that the pace was wayyyy too slow in the first 2 hours of gameplay. Unlike the two previous chapters, I feel like there wasn't much going on, other than puzzles and the one jumpscare from a rat nightmare critter. It was so long in fact, that I fell asleep 1 hour and a half in. It just didn't keep me intrigued enough.
Finally, one other thing that I probably do not need to elaborate on is the bugs. I mostly saw texture bugs as some of the video's parts were cut out, but they did take some of my immersion out. One texture bug I can think of is during a Yarnaby sequence where the person was hiding in one of the safe places. Some of Yarnaby's mane became a flat blue for a moment before switching back to its assigned color. I think this is understandable though, as the game came out like 12 hours ago and Mob is probably already working on fixing them.
There's a bit more I would mention, but it's currently 1am and I want to go sleep.
Even though there's a lot of things that made me pretty upset about this chapter, there are some others that I absolutely loved. For example, I really loved Doey's character! I think he genuinely meant well to the people he considered his family and I appreciate the fact that despite of what happened in the Safe Haven, he tried his best to not let his "evil" take over him to not hurt the player and Poppy, because (if I undestood correctly) he trusted us and for real thought we wanted to help. His last moments were pretty sad to me :( He's just a broken kid who lost everything he loved and who felt betrayed. Loved the ending too. Even thought it was obvious that Ollie was the Prototype, I think it's great that they finally revealed to us what we should expect from the him. I love the small insight we got on what the Prototype looks like. I did not expect a robotic looking thing, considering what the Prototype Catnao built in Chapter 3 looked like!
I know that this game was made under a year, and a game made in this amount of time is very impressive to me. It's pretty good. But, I really think Mob should leave this trend where they upload one chapter a year. Personally, I prefer quality over quantity. I think you can guess that I think this chapter is a downgrade from the previous chapters... it feels pretty rushed and not really well thought of. This chapter had sooo much potential to be something perfect.
If you made it to the end, thank you for reading my rant. I might give it a second watch or even play it myself, maybe my opinion will change...

2025.01.31 06:01 NurEineSockenpuppe Investigating frame drops when playing video in chromium browsers
Hey I'm investigating an issue that I currently have. It is oddly specific and I wanted to ask if any of you could maybe replicate it to give me any hints to maybe solve this.
So videos on twitch or youtube play just fine on all browsers on my system. However when I play a video in fullscreen on my second screen it heavily drops frames. The frame is very consistent. It drops around 10 frames a second according to the "stats for nerds" panel on youtube. The weird thing is that this ONLY happens on my second monitor and if I have a window opened on my main monitor that is NOT maximized. Also it also happens in ALL chromium based browsers that I tested: Google Chrome, MS edge, Vivaldi and Brave. The only browser not affected by this is Firefox.
Can somebody maybe test this on their system and see if this also happens to them.
1: Open a youtube video in any chromium browser. 2: Drag the browser window to your secondary monitor. 3: Put the video in full screen and activate the stats for nerds panel. 4: Open a windows explorer window on your primaty monitor and restore it (like not maximized)

Bueno, resumen. Mujer de 19, por cumplir 20. Manejo una ansiedad tremenda, toda mi vida la pase con quilombos y problemas de abandono y siempre fui una pelotuda. Pelotuda en que sentido? que no puedo decir que no y la gente se aprovecha de eso. Estoy cansada de todos, literal. Mi familia es un desastre, mi vida social es un desastre, MIS estudios son un desastre, mi relación es una mierda por que tengo dependencia a una persona que literalmente no esta listo ni preprado para la relación que busco, por mas que esa persona ya tenga 24 años!
Estoy cansada y harta de todos, actualmente tengo trabajo y cobro 300k. Agradezco tener ese trabajo. Pero me siento tan agobiada y estresada con todo, desde chica q tengo problemitas donde mi primer solucion es matarme para asi DESCANSAR de los problemas, obviamente acá estoy asiq no paso por miedo. (Obviamente de por medio hubo depresión, ataques de pánico y ansiedad social, ahora estoy bien)
Pero por que nadie habla de lo difícil que es agararrarle las riendas a tu vida, y encima que te caes te tenes que levantar 800 veces pq 800 veces t caes, que podrida me tienen todos.
Cumplir las expectativas que la verdad ni se si pueda cumplir de mis viejos me tiene harrrrta, estoy cansada. Mi relación actual no ayuda, literal me la pase llorando todo un año casi, o unos 6 meses aprox para que el pelotudo este cambie y se la paso por el culo ya que piensa que soy un PROBLEMA MAS en su vida, literal asi me ve. Ni se por que estoy con él ni por que lo amo tanto, ni por que sigo insistiendo pero ahí estoy como estupida. Mi trabajo, bueno, todo tranqui, me gusta pero es ESTRESANTE tener que joderse la cabeza y ser explotados dependiendo del humor de mi jefa que TAMPOCO respeta horarios. No se que va a ser de mi vida, pero se supone que tenía una meta, tener casa, estar recibida, tener un trabajo estable, tener un esposo que me ame y tener un hijo al cual darle amor. Pero cada vez es mas difícil! la persona con la que quiero todo eso ni si quiera piensa en estar conmigo mucho tiempo (eso creo yo por sus acciones) Estoy cansada de mi trabajo y de mis padres y de siempre intentar solucionar todo y que todo este bien para que todos esten bien conmigo ES ESTRESANTE. La gente cada dia es una mierda y yo también.
Hace unos dias estuve hablando con mi pareja, de un chico de casi 30 años que embarazo a su novia d 20, no tiene casa, vive con su mamá de casi 70 años en una casita que se esta por caer encima de ellos y me atreví a decir "ya embarazo a su pareja y ni si quiera es capaz de trabajar o tratar de conseguir un terreno para su mujer e hijo" Cuando yo ni sé que me depara el futuro, me sentí tan mierda al decir eso. Bueno eso, estoy podrida d todos y d lo asquerosa que puede ser la vida, y es más feo cuando sos joven y tenes que preocuparte que vas a comer mañana y no tener una adolescencia o niñez normal. Es una paja, pase por mucha necesidad, ya sea material o emocional. Y es una jodida mierda

I’m a 23-year-old female, and about three years ago, I started gaining weight despite keeping my diet and lifestyle the same. I’ve tried every fad diet with minimal success, so two weeks ago, I started intermittent fasting, hoping it will work.
Has anyone else experienced weight gain in their twenties? What really helped you lose weight and keep it off? Is intermittent fasting a good option, or should I try something else? Looking for advice based on personal experience!
