First time actually “building” a computer. I had a prebuilt with small upgrades here and there only to the ram and gpu. Before I bought anything I was running a ryzen 3 3100 with a 4060 ti, MOBO: gigabyte ga a320m s2h. I bought a 3 fan Thermalright AIO, Ryzen 7 5800x, and a new computer case to allow everything to fit properly.
After I rebuilt my pc into a new case I forgot to update my bios so while I put my back my old cpu to update my bios, nothing was posting, I then proceeded to do every main thing to get my pc to post, (reseting the mobo/cmos, ram tests, hardware tests, made sure everything was secure and plugged in, mobo grounded check, turning off fans and checking wires, checking the cpu for any damage or tp stuck to it) but yet literally nothing will make my pc post.
I will be accepting the fact that I broke something within the mobo or pc in general.
I will be requesting anyone with pc knowledge from the people of Reddit to please help me, I’m desperate.

im on a budget and i dont know what to do, i was gonna build a 9800x3d paired with a 4070 super , but is that much bottleneck? is that 160€ more for the 9800x3d worth it if im pairing with a 4070 super? or should i get the 7800x3d and spending that extra money on the 4070 ti super? i only play competitive games in 1080p , i got a 1080p 380hz monitor

2025.01.31 06:21 Dlan08 Building Computers for my Kids possible upgrade for me
Both my kids love playing video games with me, and currently use upgraded old dell workstations with bad GPUs and a little extra ram. I want to build them a pair of computers with modern-ish hardware so we can all play games together. Right now we can only really play Minecraft and Roblox with their comps on min settings getting 15-30 fps.
Now my kids are young, 5 and 7. but I have made sure they are versed in actual computer use and not just tablet junk. A lot of people give me a hard time with this but it has really improved my daughter's (7) reading and my son's (5) motor skills. Also My son has some signs of Spectrum disorder and it has been a way I can connect with him and it makes him smile and laugh (which is so rare to hear for me)
For the first time in a long time I will have extra money from our refund to do this and I wanna do it right. But I haven't built a computer in like 10 years. I do have a 3060 in my machine and could use that in one of theirs and upgrade mine but I would only do that if it would not negatively impact them.
I tried using PCpartpicker but there is just so much and I don't wanna mess up. if any of you know of a good place to start I would be eternally greatful.
side note, I do stream and have been having issues with encoding. would a B580 be an upgrade enough over the 3060 to make it worth the price? (also looking at them for the kids PCs)

2025.01.31 06:21 Boring_Boysenberry33 New Campaign Idea (Merge of homebrew and Waterdeep : Dragon Heist)
I would like to get some advice or some suggestions for an upcoming idea of mine for a dungeons and dragons campaign. My current party have voiced their wishes to end out CoS campaign after a year and some change and they have voiced their wishes to try something less dampening and horror with something more upbeat like the being the heroes of Phandalin in our previous module campaign, Lost Mines of Phandelver.
My upcoming idea for a future campaign is to introduce the lore and light story of Waterdeep : Dragon Heist where I get to roleplay the various guilds, factions, political leaders and more within the city of Waterdeep but also get a chance at a cool idea of mine for a long campaign or short should the party wish to pursue things after the module.
My idea is this, I run the module slightly homebrewed to align with my way of running a campaign as well as add some flavor for my friends. But during the campaign and after I introduce a homebrewed campaign within the Yawning Portal tavern similar to The Mad Mage. I know the mad mage module adds more levels but I had an idea that improves my doubts for the campaign and that is to include a multi level dungeon crawl into the yawning portal tavern where multiple guilds, and factions have plundered into it hoping to make riches and exploits as they farm the endless waves of monsters and floors uncovering magical items and materials for crafts against magical beasts rare to the land of the forgotten realms as well as compete with other factions and guilds. Possibly adding new items like teleportation crystals, or possible guild quests or reputation quests with factions. Kind of like an RPG MMO. Now that I type this I can think of anime like Solo Leveling, Danmachi (is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon) or even Sword Art Online just to name a few. Could think of it like raids in World of Warcraft too.
My idea is to take inspiration from anime and books as well as video games to introduce a fun and competitive mini game campaign where the party can throw themselves into the dungeons hoping to make a name for themselves and use their exploits to sell off to vendors or use their coin to gather better equipment to allow them to venture further. Though once they reach the lower depths it gets more dangerous and at the bottom of the dungeon they are shocked to find the creators of this evil ploy. None other than powerful mages and spellcasters pooling together a darker and sinister plot. They have been using magic to create an endless dungeon that changes and alters every day full of puzzles and creatures testing the locals and the efforts of adventurers hoping to learn of their tactics and potential or possible dangers so that they could eventually overthrow mankind on the surface and cause a great catastrophe after learning of ways to overpower the adventurers of the forgotten realms.
This is only a very shallow idea and isn't too thought over but I wanted to get it out there and on paper in hopes of finding like minded people with ideas or advice for how I might be able to incorporate something like this OR even how to homebrew the Mad Mage module to allow me to do just that.
I am open to suggestions

I regret to my core for not attending maroon 5, Katy Perry concert and same goes with all the others edm artist.. I have a list which I will share one day..

I'm a young professional and was recently appointed to a P level position in Europe and have just received a bombardment of onboarding information and tasks. It's a bit overwhelming and I'm just trying to get some advice on how the moving process typically goes for individuals -- as I will be by myself, though my dad will come along with me to help me settle in. my start date is April 1 and I'm relocating from the US and have never been to the country/city duty station before.
How early should one arrive before the start date? Where does one typically stay in that initial period (a hotel?) Do people usually pick their long-term accomodations before going to the duty station? or do they wait until arriving? I'm guessing fully furnished is the way to go, but I'd also like to bring some furniture from my home since I'm given that option for relocation and storage -- unsure how to time this as well. Will be grateful for any advice on these logistical things.

Hi all. I have a 2017 Lexus RX350 and recently had to cut my seat belt to get a little passenger out (he fell asleep in with the belt wrapped around him and pretensioner locked the belt) :/
Anyhow since then I have removed the seatbelt, and gotten the webbing replaced through a certified company. Now it is time to reinstall the seatbelt. I was told by a Japanese car repair shop they they don't touch the safety systems because airbag lights are tricky and wrong torque on the nuts can trigger some sensors which keep the airbag light on. This doesn't make much sense to me because if you know that is an issue, then just tighten it to the correct torque spec?
Regardless, I've taken it upon myself to finish the job myself and am looking for some help.
- Firstly, is it true that having the wrong torque spec will trigger airbag light? How do those sensors even work?
- I am looking for the correct torque spec to tighten the nuts when putting the seatbelt assembly back but was unable to find this information online. There are 3 bolts ( 2 are 12mm and 1 is 10mm). For similar vehicles I did find the value to be 29.5 lbs/ft but am not sure if this is the correct value. When taking apart, I did notice that the 10mm bolt took less energy than the other 2 so I'm guessing it was less tightened? Can someone please tell me find the correct values for my car, or point me to where I might find this value? Can the dealership provide me this information?
