I've had a quote for a system that uses all QCELLS gear.
Q.TRON BLACK panels Q.VOLT H4.6S inverter Q.SAVE battery
The gear itself looks good and I'm happy with the price - however I'm seeing universally terrible reviews for the app used to manage the system.
This concerns me two-fold - firstly it's made me hesitate on the brand as this represents a lack of investment in a key area. Secondly the idea that the system is reliant on an app that could lose support at any time doesn't sit well with me.
The Enphase inverters seem popular but even their app has some poor reviews - and so I'd have similar concerns.
Are there no alternative ways to manage these systems, are they completely reliant on apps? Is this high-end QCell gear really held hostage by what appears to be a barely functional phone app?
Some advice and thoughts would be useful.

I won’t get into much details as to not dox myself, but one of my tasks at work is to cover sick and annual leave and with that comes last minute changes. Today I am struggling with cramps (period) and I have PCOS which makes it a personal hellish experience where if I’m not working, I’d be bed ridden, so all I wanna do is finish work and go home on those days.
I was asked to work 10 hours today when I was meant to do 9 to cover someone and I declined and before I could explain myself, the person who asked me started yelling at me on the phone, saying that it’s in my contract that I have to do extra hours sometimes and that I’m being inconsiderate and that I should really think about my choices and went on to yell more things but by then I was so flabbergasted that I just couldn’t compute anything anymore.
I politely again said, I’m happy to do it another day, but today I cannot work an extra hour as I’m already feeling unwell. I will do my roster as scheduled since last week. She continued to yell and threatened to tell management about it and that’s when I said “please do, and I’ll ask them if it’s ok to guilt trip me into working when I’m already unwell”
The person in charge of this is the daughter of the owner of the company. It’s medium to small company so I know basically everyone from owner until co-workers. Basically she thinks she has the authority to be rude to people and this isn’t the first time she is rude (this was the worst tho) and she’s been rude to other mates in the company.
I am obviously looking for a new job but I can’t give myself the luxury to quit (in this economy?!?!) but even after quitting, I felt very uncomfortable and disrespected. I show up to work on time, I go above and beyond and always fulfil my duties. It’s not like I was just being lazy and didn’t want to work.
Management spoke to me and de escalated the issue but I don’t want this to ever happen again. Are there any steps I can take or should I just let it go?

I applied to four Ph.D. programs and four Masters Programs in Classics. I had no idea what to expect, what my chances were, what admissions would want to see from me. Having put my heart and soul into my applications, I proceeded to lose my sanity ever since, just waiting to hear back. I was starting to catastrophize about not getting in anywhere, cursing myself for not looking over my writing sample just one more time before submitting and ruminating over every word in my CV and SOPs. I had to stop looking at GradCafe because I saw two of my chosen programs had sent out interview invites to others and not to me, and the stress of comparing myself and then worrying even more about my chances.
The trepidation was one thing, but no one I know is applying to grad school right now, so I had no one to really talk to. I was actually in the process of writing some insane and incoherent rant post to here last night when I told myself that writing out all of my worst case scenarios was not helping and that nothing I do now will help my chances at admissions.
And today: I got my first admission! And no less than an hour after I was discussing my worries with my advisor. It was a little funny to walk into his class just a little after all that and have to say "forget that I told you wouldn't get in anywhere." God, I jumped up and down. Is it my dream school? Not exactly. But it's a place for me and I know I can be happy and productive there. Plus, since I only applied to programs with guaranteed funding, I'd have tuition remission and a healthy stipend.
I'll probably still be a little nervous going forward just because there are other programs that excite me more and have professors I want to work with, but the unwise catastrophizing is over. I have a place to go. Honestly, this just teaches me not to spiral like this. I can't always help it, but the logical part of my brain has to remind myself that my fear only hurts me and doesn't necessarily reflect reality.
