I watched Cyntia and Ariana's the bonus feature commentary yesterday and after supporting Ariana in most ways as she talks about Glinda, I went from awe to shock to disappointment.
She seems to have so little idea what Glinda is actually about, resolving her from all of the bad things she does. I collected some examples that made me go "yikes".
- when the artichoke scene happens she goes "ugh, this is sooo hard to watch, she is not normally like this"
- Glinda offers Elphaba to help her with being green. Ariana: "She's being her shadow self now"
- Ariana said they had a different take of the "you're GREEEN"in the initial trailer and she said she was glad it was changed, because "Glinda is not that mean!" as she is in that version
- "why cant you just teach us history instead of harping on the past" happens and AG explains that there was a girl on set, who was a stand in for dr D, and she goes: "she looked strange, so it was easier for me to be mean to her... I mean not MEAN, but less enlightened"
- "animals should be seen not heard" her reaction: "this is really really not great" 😳
- in Dancing Through life, Ariana says "I'm selfish and protective of Glinda, and I'm so happy [Pfannee and Shenshen] put her up to [giving Elphaba the hat], because she is not a mean person, she just doesn't know any better".
- Ariana on Boq and Nessa at the Ozdust: "He is too good, he doesn't want to hurt anyone" and she repeatedly calls Nessaboq "cute" 😐
- at "you've been galindafied" - AG: [offended] "OKAY Fiyero, that's a little too much, you don't need to say that, you don't need to say it like THAT"
- Ariana is offended again, saying when Elphaba and Fiyero hold hands "so it's not my favorite scene, but WHO ASKED." 🤦
- Ariana says that in "I'm not that Girl" Cynthia navigates beautifully between acceptance and "a love for Glinda" 🙄 God forbid we highlight Elphaba having a crush on Fiyero, and not make this about Glinda as well, but SURE.
- In the commentary, Ariana keeps refering to Boq as "Biq"
- AG says "Glinda just wants to be loved, and want her boyfriend and best friend to get along" in the train station scene, and she says "I'M NOT TREATED VERY NICELY in this scene"
It seems like she can make no distinction between herself and Glinda, and as good as she is at playing this character, I do hope these comments have absolutely no impact on how we will see Glinda in the second movie.

2025.01.31 06:52 venom7197 The guilt is eating me alive
 | I just had the euthanize my sweet girl I had her almost 10 years (of her 12 she was a rescue). She had numerous tumors we have had removed in the past that just kept returning more aggressively even with them confirming the margins. She had 7 around her right leg and the vet said that there were so many and there was already so much scar tissue they wouldn't be able to close everything up. 4 days ago the largest one ruptured and we rushed to an emergency vet to try and do whatever we could for her... After a thorough exam from their oncologist the next day told me he found a large mass on her spleen that could rupture at any time as well as evidence it had already made it to her lymph nodes and he told me that with amputation of her back right leg, a splenectomy and chemo that she probably wouldn't live long enough to fully recover. It was the hardest decision I think I have ever made and I held her head in my hands as she went and I cried... I have been crying for 3 days off and on. Everything in my house is a reminder of her and I'm trying to be strong for our bloodhound because he just doesn't understand where she has gone. He stands in the yard looking like he is searching for her and it breaks my heart. I keep telling myself I did the right thing but why doesn't it feel like it? Why does it feel like I messed everything up and that nothing will ever be normal again...? I keep seeing her head go limp in my hands every time I close my eyes. I keep reaching for her food bowl when we feed our other one and I just don't know how to cope with the guilt. I already posted this on the main Bravo sub, but I wanted to post it here as well because I think it's important.
Honestly, it's exhausting the amount of posts and comments I've been seeing in regards to Meredith not crying or showing any visible emotion when Mary was speaking about Robert Jr. Even though I'm a Meredith fan, I can understand why people may be tired of her. What I don't understand is people calling her a narcissist, lacks empathy, doesn't care, etc. when Mary was speaking about it.
Everyone can process things in their own way. Some people don't express emotions outwardly. I myself don't particularly don't express many emotions in public or really in private. For example, I did not cry at my grandfather's funeral. Does that make me a bad person? No. It didn't mean I didn't care about my grandfather and wasn't upset about his death. Plus, it was evident based on the texts that were shown and Mary herself saying that Meredith reached out and helped her and was a friend, which is not something Mary really speaks about unless she truly means it.
I guess what I'm trying to say is feel free to not particularly enjoy/like Meredith (even though I'd respectfully disagree with that opinion), stop trying to monitor her emotions and read into things. We aren't her and don't know what she's feeling.

I’m new to the game and playing career mode on Xbox with a controller. I’m using the starting Cessna airplane. Once I get in the air and flying steady, if I let go of the stick, I am constantly losing altitude. I know there’s some wheel that can adjust it, but I don’t know how to use it right. It always adjusts super fast. Any tips on this is appreciated, along with any tips for new controller players. Thanks!
