hi guys,
I just came across a really strange situation very recently. I got a call from SH telesales 6805 2440 if I want to renew my current broadband 500Mbps (which I'm paying $30/mth) and upgrade to 5Gbps while still paying nearly the exact same amount which is $30.37/mth. Of course I said "yes" to re-contract my current broadband and the sales guy on the call loaded the order right away.
Shortly, after I received an email from SH with attached service agreement which has password-protected w my last 3 digit and my DOB as usual. Everything seems to be correct order and nothing amiss. They also scheduled an fiber installation on 3 weeks later close to this month's end. Few days later, I received a call from onsite engineer if he can come in on installation date around afternoon, and I agreed to it.
Fast forward to the installation date, I received a SMS from SH (legit with SH name) mentioning that there will be an fiber upgrade today and service may be disrupted which I find that it's normal and they are proactive. However, until the late afternoon, nobody comes over to my unit for installation. Therefore, I called up their support line and asked them when the engineer would come for installation for my broadband service. The answer I got from the support personnel made me speechless. She said "there was no record of my broadband renewal" and they can't find any scheduled or service agreement other than my existing old plan.
Of course I shared with them about service agreement email attached and SMS I received on the same day. They were quite puzzled and asked me to wait for a call back to investigate the matter after I provided evidences. Today I received a call from so called probably "last person" who will be dealing with a situation like this, and telling me that there was no re-contract at all and they cannot assist with me this matter any further. At this point, I feel like they are wasting my time for past 4 days and don't wanna argue with them anymore.
So the case is closed now, I still can't believe whether SH themselves screwed up my renewal or rather the call was indeed a scam. But the fact that I received my particular details with service agreement, the password format which is totally legit from what I used to receive from them in the past, are really bizarre and surreal. Just wondering if you anyone of you guys come across same situation like mine.

Hey all, I hope you're doing well. For some background, I'm an American man in my early 30s. I have been working with a team in India (based in two major cities), and there is some talk about me potentially relocating there temporarily in the future. I have no idea if this will materialize. However, it made me curious to see what that might be like. One thing I was curious about, and couldn't really find good information on is what dating might be like for me there. Are women in India generally open to dating foreign men, how and where do people meet each other, just other cultural considerations.
I don't know if I would even have enough time to date, but I am curious. I tried asking in the askindia subreddit and responses were mostly from men calling me names and telling me not to come, so I thought this place might give some more useful honest feedback. Thank you for reading!

2025.01.31 07:04 Expert_Vanilla1031 MacBook Air 15" M3 overheating with light use, is this normal?
I just got a MacBook Air, and it's great except it gets incredibly hot with just normal use. The bottom gets hot enough that I'll start sweating if it's on my lap, and touching the bottom hurts. I don't have all that much open right now, just 7 safari tabs, Xcode, settings, notes, messages, and a VPN. I know that's not nothing, but I got 16gb of ram because I wanted to be an able to have a lot of stuff open at once. Is this overheating issue something common, or is my product defective in some way? Does anyone have any advice?
