2025.01.31 08:00 HeavensWheel777 Hot take: I don't really like Departure

Is it a good first opening? Absolutely. Everything about that opening screams "welcome to this new world" and it has a lot of charm as well. Do I want that song for the entire series? No. It's pretty bland and nothing aside from the intro hooks me. Plus, I like when openings match the atmosphere of the arcs and the song just doesn't do Yorknew and Chimera justice. Or at least if the show wanted to stick to the same song, they could have been faster on the visual changes instead of being stuck with basically the same thing until Greed Island.
Don't get me wrong, it's low-key iconic for the show to have a singular song that represents the entire series. But an iconic song isn't always a good one and where is my VARIETY OF MUSIC? Good thing the show makes up for it by having some of the best endings in anime.

What can I do? Does BSIS deserve to hear about this, if they can do anything? Figured something like this deserves to be reported.
