Hello everyone,
In these few days after the release of Deepseek R1, we saw the first people publishing the specs of systems they built to either run the full R1, or a quantized/distilled version that is still very functional. It's great to see that we can run such powerful models on consumer hw while staying within 10000€ and still get acceptable performance.
But what I'm wondering here, is if we can already take this a bit further or if we aren't there yet. All these setups demontrated the use of R1 by a single user, but what would happen if there are a few concurrent users?
I think that, at least in principle, it would be possible to load the model into memory only once, but does Ollama (or something similar) support running multiple inferences in parallel on the same copy of the model? If it's necessary to load a full new copy for each user, this would aready be a showstopper for this scenario, given the massive memory requirement.
Another possible problem that comes to my mind is the memory or processing bandwidth: maybe it's possible to have multiple concurrent inferences, but this saturates one of the two bandwidths, and the amount of tokens per second that you get plummets.
I have a background in computer engineering, but I'm in the cybersecurity field, so I would like to hear from someone that has knowledge of how LLMs work and maybe also of the interernals of Ollama what are their thoughts on this.

Hi, as the post itself implies, are there any dentists/dental clinic that offers "deep" sedation for their oral surgeries?
planning to have my wisdom tooth extracted and a couple of other trouble making teeth in the process.
a couple of clinics are offering me twilight sedation, but i worry that that won't be enough. i personally prefer to be "knocked out", (not the general anesthesia level tho.) during the surgery.
medyo na mislead ako ng isang website eh. when i contacted them they said best that they can offer is the moderate sedation. which i think enough naman na? pero i want to be "extra sure" na di ako magigising in the middle of the surgery.

I downloaded witcher 3 from both fitgirl and Dodi repacks and ended up with this error while installing it. I checked some answers here and tried some things like
1:Rehashing 2:Selecting cpu cores to 2 because my cpu is dual core though msconfig 3:Downloading again using flud instead of 1dm
Nothing is working so far so I decided to download face cry 6 from dodi and ended up with the same issue.
Note: I always skip downloading optional language pack, bonus content and hd texture pack.
I feel like el amigos pack from ovagames is the way to go but lately I'm getting checksum errors while extracting winrar zip from them. I'm on windows 10 now and some games like Batman arkam origins, city far cry 3, 4 , primal are all installing fine. Not sure what's going on with newer repacks.
I'm thinking about downloading via pc this time. I didn't do it so far because phone gets overheated because of the speed at night while sharing net via hotspot.
Any ideas?
Windows 10 home 22h2 Amd ryzen 3 3250u 16gb ram, 256GB ssd No antivirus software installed except defender which is already turned off and I made sure to check before installing everytime.

I ACCIDENTALLY dented his car door, it's s small dent but I still feel really bad. Well he got very angry with me and started yelling, calling me dumb and when he was inside he was saying "well, I'm gonna break all your shit" I stayed outside because I was scared but I heard him banging things around in my room. (This MY house, not his) I've never EVER treated him like this even when I'm angry, just a few weeks ago I was going to buy me a vehicle. He insisted that he gets it because he "knows cars" it was a cheap car, $2000 but I never had it for a month and I didn't yell at him, or belittle him because of it. Now, I want to break up with him and he's calling me dramatic because its my fault bc I hit the car.

2025.01.31 07:50 JanuaryReservoir Going back to the launch of CoH3, I found it funny that there was a bunch of content creators who don't have much RTS experience that were sponsored to play.
Seeing content creators who don't normally engage in the RTS genre play the game is wild but like it's still strange because I already thought that CoH is a niche of a niche (RTS) already.
No shade to those creators, but I still had this small feeling that maybe that money could've gone to more experienced RTS content creators or at least who had a large interest in the genre because at least they can give proper input, or they could have used that sponsorship money to fund the game more.
