I first watched the movie One Day in 2017, had no idea what it was about and watched it on a whim as a rec from a friend. Thought it was a fun funny rom com, love Rosie rec. BOY WAS I WRONG. I swore I would NEVER watch it ever again bc of how devastating it was. Well, I immediately caved when the show came out bc it is truly such a beautiful story and I of course NEEDED to see how the show adapted it. Cut to now, I just finished binge rewatching all 14 episodes and decided that it is totally possible and probable for me to rewatch this series….If and only if I watch through episode 12 and nothing else and pretend that is how it abruptly ends!
(tl;dr - I was a blubbering mess and will gaslight myself into believing in a happy ending for dex and emma so I can rewatch this beautiful piece of work over and over)
Do I dare read the book….i really do love it, but idk how much more devastation i can take from this one story LOL

Freelancer ako, pero na-approve ako sa credit card!!! AAHHHH 😭
I swear, akala ko talaga imposibleng ma-approve for a credit card. Ang dami kong nababasa na hanggang ngayon, wala pa rin silang CC kasi freelancer daw - so sino ba naman ako para umasang iba ang magiging kapalaran ko?! 🤣
First bank ko talaga UB. Online registration lang mag open ng savings account, then dun ako unang nag-apply ng CC… pero denied.
Then nag-transfer ako sa BPI after ma-deny (char, nagtampo 😂). Every month may pumapasok na 6 digits sa account ko, pero never nila akong in-offeran ng credit card 😭. Hindi na rin ako nag-apply, baka ma-deny na naman ako. Another negative news na naman sa buhay ko, HAHAHA!
Last year, November - nag-open ako ng Easy Savings sa Security Bank kasi no maintaining balance. Nag-deposit ako ng ₱500, tapos nakalimutan ko na may SB account pala ako. Hanggang ngayon, ₱500 pa rin laman nun! HAHAHA!
Then kahapon lang, around 9 AM, Nagising ako sa call.
Akala ko Shopee rider, kaya sinagot ko. Nagpakilala si ate, tapos since bagong gising ako, nasabi ko lang, “Weh, sure?” 😂
Natawa lang siya, tapos sabi niya prequalified ako for a Security Bank Wave Mastercard - no documents needed, verification lang.
Napaisip ako, jusko, baka scam ‘to?! Pero chineck ko yung number, SB nga daw, pero hesitant pa rin ako, HAHAHA!
So ako naman, sagot lang nang sagot nang wala masyadong pake (tas antok pa ako), kasi sure akong ma-dedeny na naman ‘to. Tinanong niya work ko, sabi ko “VA po.” Hindi niya na rin tinanong kung magkano income ko, kaya lalo akong sure na wala ‘to.
After the call, nag-text yung SB sa akin ng reference number.
Nagulat ako, ay, legit pala?! HAHAHAHA!
Natulog ulit ako, then after an hour, nag-vibrate phone ko. Pag-check ko. GAGI, MAY TEXT AT EMAIL. HALA, APPROVED????????! BILIS NAMAN? 😭
TIP lang: Pag may tumawag sa inyo na nag-ooffer ng CC, wag kayo masyadong excited. Maging nonchalant lang, baka ma-approve din kayo in an hour. 🤣
Reflected na sa app yung cc ko ngayon. Napa-utot ako sa credit limit. 😂
P.S. Sabi nila, super tagal daw ang delivery. Nako naman, SB, wag niyo na akong paasahin pa! HAHAHA!

My (21M) girlfriend (26F) have been together for almost a year. Last night she had a show (musical theatre) and after the performance, she went out to eat with her cast. I hadn’t heard from her all night, and by midnight, I started getting a little worried. It wasn’t about checking in constantly—I just wanted a simple heads-up text so I wasn’t left wondering.
When we finally talked on the phone, I told her I was a little concerned and would have appreciated a quick message. She seemed a bit defensive, saying she “forgot” and wasn’t really on her phone. She did kind of apologize, but it felt hesitant, like more of an excuse than taking accountability. She also said she didn’t know what else to say since it already happened and that she felt like nothing she said was going to make me feel better. Also that she felt like she was being spoken down too.
I also mentioned that my friend Joey had seen her active on Facebook 15-20 minutes before we talked. She insisted she hadn’t been on her phone, and while I wasn’t accusing her of anything shady, it just made her explanation feel off. Eventually, she did give a more direct apology saying, “I’m sorry, I made a mistake. I should have texted you.”
By the end of the call, we were back to normal, saying “I love you” and even talking about future plans. But I still feel unsettled. I wasn’t looking to start an argument, just to have my feelings acknowledged, and I feel like I had to push for that. I don’t think this is a constant problem in our relationship, but when these situations happen, she tends to get defensive instead of just validating my feelings upfront.
Where I could be wrong: • Maybe I was too caught up in needing validation and turned a small mistake into a bigger deal than necessary. • I did bring up the Facebook thing, which could have made her feel like I was accusing her of lying, even if that wasn’t my intention. • She did eventually apologize, so I might be overanalyzing the way she did it instead of accepting it for what it was. • I might be assuming that she forgot intentionally rather than genuinely just being caught up in her night.
I don’t want to blow this out of proportion, but I also don’t want to ignore an actual communication issue if it’s there. Should I just let this go as a small miscommunication, or is this worth addressing differently next time?

I am making sure I have skills and resources to barter, plus modest emergency savings on hand. What I'm still stumped with is what to do about larger amounts of savings.
If FDIC goes is that it, no more savings just bc I was scared to make larger withdrawals?
What's worse, larger withdrawals or no savings?
I feel like I've been seeing lots of push against having more cash than usually recommended but nearly no finite or easily accessible suggestions for truly future-proof alternatives. These are extenuating circumstances that "lots of cash is bad" doesn't even begin to touch in my mind. Plus I'm emigrating and if I am suddenly without savings while building residency abroad, I will be extra triple mega screwed! This and last month, Fidelity booked my monthly savings plan payment from my Fidelity clearing account instead of my usual reference account. This resulted in my clearing account being in the negative for a few days and me paying interest.
How do i switch back to the bookings going from my reference account? Can't seem to any forms and customer Service tells me I have to that online.
