Hi everyone, I just found out I need a root canal next week. I used to be awesome with needles and hardly care when I got the local anesthetic. Since POTS I have developed a needle phobia because I have had a few passing out/vomiting episodes. As soon as they begin injecting me my heart races and I panic because I am afraid, which only fuels the POTS more. Does anyone have any ideas to prevent fainting/vomiting from a vasovagal response (or just bc I am panicking)? I will be using “applied tension” to try to prevent passing out. I also started on daily ivabradine and wonder if that will make a difference with the tachycardia and wooziness. Thank you!!!

I’m just wondering what do other people do? I’m in my 40s bi guy and just haven’t had many relationships, except one very serious one, which broke up due to ED primarily.
It’s being caused by a cardiovascular issue and I haven’t ever not had it. It’s just never really worked beyond getting a not fully hard erection and it’s not very practical.
Anyone I have gone out with has been extremely nasty about it. It comes up and I get told I’m not into them. I’ve been dumped, thrown out of bed, accused of having affairs, aggressive tantrums aimed at me, told that I caused someone’s depression … it goes on and and on. I would really even want to go out with someone as I’m clearly causing them a lot of frustration.
Tried meds - don’t work. Made no difference really. I’m on ARBs and a cardioselective beta blocker for other reasons, and neither seems to have made it worse or better.
At this stage I’ve just really given up and I’m not really even missing it as it’s not something that I ever really had in the first place. Always felt like a bit of a weirdo because of that —other than that one longer relationship I just really always been single.
I used to basically force myself to go on dates and hook up and it was always a bit pointless —just ends up as a load of awkward fumbling around and usually that’s been as far as it goes. At this point I just feel the boat has sailed and I need to just figure out how to be single and stop caring what other ppl think.

My doctor wants to start me on vraylar, but I'm also taking 2mg of Xanax, 45mg of buspirone, 60 mg of propanolol, and 1800mg of gabapentin a day. His reasoning is because he thinks that the combination will help me get off the Xanax and tbh the Xanax and the buspirone has been the only two things that really help with my anxiety and BPD and PTSD. What is your guys thoughts on him putting me on vraylar on top of all these other medications?
