Hi all. Hoping for a bit of inspiration - and maybe motivation as well 🤷🏽♂️
So a couple of tears ago I came across Dan John and hes work. I have read a fair number of his books as hes more realistic approach to training really resonated with me.
In the past I have done a lot of Wendelers 5/3/1 training and gotten got results with it - along with soreness and minor injuries.
I believe I am one of those people who are just injury prone but I am only now starting to realize it.
Simply put I was sick of feeling sore and stiff all the time. But here came Dan John and introduced me to another path.
Recently I read the ABF book and i started the kettlebell program but did not finish it. I remember being surprised of the lack of stiffness and soreness which I was used to from more traditional barbell work. However, as mentioned I didt complete the program. I have three small kids and someone always gets sick and after that periode of on/off sickness I just couldn’t pull myself together because I remembered how (to be honest) boring the program was. Dont get me wrong I am sure it is effecient and I felt good but it was just boring.
Instead I turned to the barbell version and oddly enough I didnt get bored with it - but I did develop a bakers cyst during that time. Dont know how that could happen. Maybe a combination of being 40+, not getting optimal sleep and being injury prone.
Anyway, I really enjoyed doing the barbell program but I just know the kettlebell version is better for me, my joints and being able to play with my kids and move around freely.
Anyone else out there who has experienced anything like this and have any advice?

Onlangs plaatste ik al een post op deze subreddit met betrekking tot het kopen van een appartement van een familielid, dit familielid gaat het appartement verkopen vanwege een verhuizing naar een instelling met zorg. Weet niet of het relevant is, maar het familielid betreft de opa van mijn vriendin.
Het zit zo, de opa in kwestie wilt het appartement hoe dan ook aan ons verkopen. Wij zijn uiteraard al naar een hypotheek adviseur gegaan en kunnen +/- € 360.000 lenen. Het huis moet nog getaxeerd worden, echter is mijn verwachting dat dit hoger uit zal vallen dan het bedrag wat wij kunnen lenen. Helaas is er weinig eigen geld en het geld dat we hebben willen we graag gebruiken om te verbouwen.
Mijn vraag is dus als volgt; Als het appartement hoger getaxeerd wordt dan wij kunnen lenen, is er dan een constructie te bedenken zodat wij dit appartement toch kunnen kopen van opa?
Sidenote; de opa in kwestie wilt niks liever dan het appartement aan ons verkopen, hij heeft hier veel mee gemaakt en hangt dus best wat emotionele waarde.

I have a TS with the brembos, love the car and all that but hate the brake dust. I can go maybe a day of daily driving, and my rims will looks like I've never cleaned them a day in its life. I just need a brake pad for mainly street use, but every post out there is talking about upgrading for better performance. Anyone got recommendations for a low dust brake pad, I don't care if their loud or if I need to brake earlier, I just want less dust plz and thank you

2025.01.31 08:44 justanotherpfd World of Monsters difficulty?
My partners and I started playing the series with American Monsters and we got pretty good, it's just the two of us and we would win against 3 monsters almost every time. 4 monsters was doable but more dependent on which characters we were and which mix of monsters we drew.
So we found World of Monsters and have been playing a few rounds every week for our game nights. We play against 2 monsters at a time and loose almost every time (I believe the instructions suggest that a "standard" game should be against 3 monsters lol).
The monsters all seem to move around way to fast. In American Monsters sometimes none or only one of our monsters would move, in this some cards will send them 3 spaces towards you and then they both move and attack (sometimes multiple times) and it's really overwhelming.
Are we the only ones with this problem?
