2025.01.31 08:48 Accomplished-Tip173 Personal Tails of Iron 2 Review
Okay, as I just ended the game on normal difficulty (~10 hrs for platinum on PS5), I thought, I might as well write a small PERSONAL review. Spoilers ahead obviously.
I realize this game is a metroidvania-lite at best, but Ive seen several threads about this game here, so I guess its fine.
Well, I cant help but to feel a bit disappointed, to be honest.
I mean it feels VERY similar to the first game in every way. Yeah in the end its a sequel, I get it. But I think the changes are too minor for me to make a difference.
Dont get me wrong, I love both games and I think its worth the price, but it feels more like a big DLC with the second half feeling completely rushed and not fleshed out in any way. The regions there are small, linear and have little content in contrast to the first three. A missed chance in my opinion.
The story, pacing and overarching structure of the game feels very predictable and not very inspiring. I liked it but it was not very special to be honest. No surprises and most of it felt exactly like the first game.
As you can see, I liked the game but it could have been much more creative, with more little changes to raise it ABOVE the first game. In the end it feels just like more of exactly the same.
I think if the devs would have taken a bit more of a risk in some areas, the game would have become a true masterpiece.
Also a short summary of things Iiked and didnt like:
(+) -Controls are on point -weapons pack a punch and combat feels rewarding -difficulty, balancing and the control over it is nice (imo every game should have difficulty options to make it accessible to a larger audience. I like hard games but I hate gatekeeping. Elitism in gaming is absolutely the wrong way) -sound effects are nice and make the combat feel more visceral -graphics are absolutely awesome, really -enemy variation is fine -i dont have to mention voice acting I guess -equipment variety and magic -the story continuity of both games
(o) -content is okay but it FEELS shorter than the first one to me -story is average and Im sure I wont remember it next month -In the end more of the same with very little new ideas
(-) I hated hunting the bosses in replay and having to fight them thrice. In monster hunter its fine, but I already disliked it in the Salt and Sacrifice sequel. Its just annoying to me. -whenever you unlock magic, subtitles are blocking the WHOLE screen, making it impossible to see combat (only happens a few Times, yeah, but still annoying) -having to change equipment through the menu in the middle of a fight is a no-go if you implement a element system, I mean come on
Okay, in the end maybe I simply expected more and I understand thats on me, but maybe Im not the only one.

Hi, I have Shadows of the Empire rom on Mupen64plus on the Switch (latest version I think) and the screen keep flickering like in this video: Project N64 Shadows of the Empire Flickering Problem Fix . Does anyone know how to fix this in the settings or is this just one of those games that does not run well (I can run Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 no problem) and I will have to get Project64 emulator. I am not the most technical guy so any help would be much appreciated.

One of the things is quite nsfw I guess it’s that I used to be a hotwife before kids and got out of that scene once I had my kids who are now my world. I’m not looking to get back into the hot wife scene as I’m exploring the idea of polyamory. Just looking for people who I can share my experiences with and just chat about everything!
If that isn’t your cup of tea and you’d like to talk about other things and maybe even a bit deeper of a conversation. My background is Filipino but I can’t speak Tagalog even though my parents speak it. I’ve been to the Philippines before as we have family there but I just speak broken English with them sadly. I’m an only child and have felt that I don’t belong to either race or group before and definitely felt very isolated because of it. It is EA, make some changes, they said they are not satisfied with the current endgame playstyle, then nerf some shit, buff some shit, break builds, break the economy, whatever.
At the start of PoE 2 I thought the 2 teams weren't talking somehow, because PoE 2 do a lot of stuff backwards, now you get both teams on 1 game, please put out more changes, even without economy reset. It's better to have frequent breaking patch imo.
