 | Common Name: Megalictis Species: Megalictis dirus Time: Miocene Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild It’s the best there is at what it does and what it does isn’t very nice. If there is one creature that you should not mess with, it is Megalictis dirus. Like their modern relatives the wolverines, these tenacious creatures can come face to face with multiple opponents simultaneously and still come out on top. Fear tactics do not affect them, and their thick hide shields them from the most brutal attacks. I’ve rarely seen Megalictis run from a fight, but if they are weakened enough, they tend to discharge a foul-smelling musk that deters enemies while they escape. Domesticated Megalictis are quite difficult to tame, as tranquilisers cannot pierce their thick skin and they are impossible to approach. I have found that drugging corpses with narcotics does the trick in knocking them out. The dense fur of Megalictis provides ample insulation to anyone traversing the extreme freezing climates. They are also expert trackers, allowing them to locate their prey after taking a single bite out of them. In battle, they shine the brightest, as they can latch onto much larger targets with ease, inflicting wounds with their powerful jaws and sharp claws. And they can heal quickly thanks to their specialized brain that rapidly sends signals to heal their wounds. Be wary as they take damage, however, as they will go into a berserker rage attacking all enemies in sight with an animalistic fury that rivals even a Giga's. Megalictis's stocky yet fuzzy build allows it to survive in the coldest regions of any map with little difficulty, this includes the murder snow! Its thick skin and dense fur even allow it to shrug off ice-based attacks as well as most conventional tranquilising techniques Megalictis can roll in snow and mud to create a ball around itself, which can deal damage to natural and crafted structures and creatures when it’s built up enough and slams into them! (Hold space while running down a hill or slope) When health reaches critical levels, it will release a stink bomb from its scent gland that can deter attackers, causing the grossed-out status effect where an affected creature is blinded and needs to stop and vomit! Megalictis are immune to Yutyrannus and Rhyniognatha roars and most hostile wild creatures will go out of their way to avoid it unless absolutely necessary! Can leap moderate distances! (SPACE) Claw attack! (LMB) Has a bite attack! (RMB) Has a special buff called Snow buff which it gains increased movement speed when in a cold or snowy environment and is very similar to the water buff that the Spino, Shadowmane and Tropical Wyvern currently have. Can enter a temporary Berserker Rage mode when requirements are met (receiving enough damage and killing enough enemies), which grants increased Melee, Damage resistance and Attack Speed and can negate the armour of Survivors and Creatures alike! (Activated with CTRL when the meter is full) Can self-heal with a command, but will use a lot of the creature’s energy and drain Food rapidly and if Megalictis has no food left it will begin to eat through its stamina instead (activated with C) Can grapple onto larger creatures and even bosses with its jaws and inflict damage over time, at the cost of Stamina! Can move around the body depending on the size of the creature! It will also enable it to grapple onto the legs of the creature or face with it being able to bite and slash at them causing blindness when attacking the face and causing Damage to stamina and movement when attacking the legs. Enemy creatures can shake you off if you aren’t careful, however (Press space when the latch marker appears on an enemy creature) Can see scent lines in the air that when followed enable the Megalictis to track other creatures green scent lines lead to friendly creatures, Red lines lead to hostile creatures, yellow lines lead to tribe members and allies and black leads to hostile survivors Passively produces Megalictis musk from its scent gland this enables survivors to craft a special grenade called a stink bomb when thrown at an enemy it causes the grossed-out status effect Has the weakness of its sense of smell being able to overload if shot with a pheromone dart or if Megalictis Musk is used against it it will start to panic and no longer respond to commands similar to how a creature would act if fear roared by a Yutyrannus Taming Find a Megalictis. Cover up your scent using items like Bug Spray, Pheromone glands etc so that the Megalictis won’t attack you instantly Kill a creature that’s large in size and add Narcotic to the inventory. Wait for a Megalictis to approach the carcass and watch from a distance. Let it feed till the carcass is consumed, it’ll gain torpor depending on how many bites it takes, What was used to knock it out and how much of that was inside the carcass. Rinse and repeat till it is knocked out. Feed Exceptional kibble or mutton for the highest taming effectiveness Strengths Great mount for getting around the map due to its amazing movement speed, snow buff speed increase and leaps High damage and attack speed make it a great mount for damage dealing and general PVP Great mount for caving The Best mount for exploring snowy and cold environments and you can even explore murder snow due to its thick fur protecting you Excellent counter for the Yuty due to it being immune to its fear roar Great for attacking enemy bases with it’s snowball ability The healing ability makes it incredibly resilient during combat Can be used as a decent meat and hide farmer The only creature in the game that produces Megalictis musk that can be used to craft stinkbombs One of the best tracking tames in the game due to its incredible sense of smell Amazing counter to ice-based tames such as the Mana, Ice Wyvern, Snow Owl and even the Ice Titan Stinkbomb ability makes for an excellent way to escape danger Berserker rage is one of the deadliest abilities around making it one of the scariest creatures to go up against Latch ability is an excellent way to deal with larger creatures and can be very helpful against bosses Weaknesses Base health is decent at best Healing ability can be worn down over time as it drains food rapidly and once food is empty it begins to drain stamina Small enough so that creatures like the Rhynio, wyvern, quetzal and other large fliers can pick it up Stinkbomb ability can be countered with a gas mask or radiation helmet Berserker rage ability only lasts for a limited time so opponents can simply wait it out Megalictis is best used in a cold/snowy environment due to its snow buff ability while it can be used in other environments it’s not quite as effective Outclassed in terms of movement speed by fliers, manas, Meawings and other fast land mounts Outclassed by larger predators like the Giga, T-rex and Spino in terms of meat harvesting and hide harvesting Is very slow at producing its Megalictis musk making it somewhat of a pain to get a lot of it Can easily be thrown off a larger creature it’s latched onto if it runs out of stamina Healing ability only works on itself and does not transfer to other tames and tribe members Scent line tracking can be countered by using items like bug spray, Reaper pheromone glands and Rhynio pheromones. When these are used the megalictis is unable to track the target due to it not being able to pick up its scent If shot with a pheromone dart or if enemy Megalictis Musk is used against it the megalictis’s sense of smell will begin to overload due to the immensely strong scent and it will begin to panic and ignore all commands similar to how a creature acts when scared by a yuti. I've noticed ShutterEncoder has recently started showing a QR code that links to Stripe when I close the program. I love the idea of reminding people the program exists because of their donations, but I think it appears both too often and becomes an irritant more than anything.
For example, today I opened ShutterEncoder because I wanted to check if the program had the option to complete whatever task I was trying to get accomplished. The program was open less than half a minute and I never intended to complete a task with it. But when I closed the program it was there.
It's also becomes an irritant because when I close a program, I expect the program to close. Maybe a program gets an extra dialog box if I haven't saved anything or it's mission critical and it wants to check I'm okay closing the program. But having to close another dialogue box after I'm done with the program becomes annoying for any program.
One part I love about ShutterEncoder is how quick it is to use and pop up. It's lightweight and has all the options there so I can work quickly with it and nothing gets in the way of what I am trying to accomplish. This popup window for donations works opposite of that and slows me down, because I was just expecting to close one window. Now I have to stop what I was about to do and go close that unexpected popup.
Maybe a better solution would be for the popup to close after a certain amount of time, maybe 30 seconds or so? Or only show the popup a maximum every two weeks in the same scenario it works right now, right after the program closes down. That way you still remind people to donate if they haven't, but the frequency is taken back.
Also having a text explaining the purpose of the box would go a long way too. Something that says "Hope you enjoyed the software! I keep this free but the maintenance and upkeep are not unfortunately. Buy me a cup of coffee to keep ShutterEncoder working" would be short and sweet and explain what this QR code is for.
Just some thoughts, but every time that box pops up, even if it's after a super short usage of ShutterEncoder, is just a little push away from what makes this program so awesome and recommendable. Which it really is awesome and recommendable to other people.

Hi all,
I’ve done a pretty deep dive of this sub and I appreciate everyone’s suggestions on landlords and places to avoid. My partner and I will be moving to Binghamton this summer. I’ve just been accepted to a doctoral program at BU.
My partner will be WFH so we’re hoping for something spacious and modern. We haven’t ever been homeowners so we’re looking into townhomes such as Legacy Bay for the space but also for the benefits such as snow removal.
Does anybody have any updated suggestions on where to look? Any recommendations for a 2 bedroom apartment under $1500? I’m really getting worried reading through here about non student housing options. I would sincerely appreciate your help and advice.

Hello! I understand it's possible to get Rocket Slime 3 running on a 3ds/2ds console by loading the installing the Japan Slime Mori-Mori 3 .cia and launching the patch through one of the CFW apps (homebrew launcher maybe?). Can anyone walk me through how I go about making it work on real hardware?

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated. I have suspicions of infidelity from my partner, but no proof, and I was wondering if private investigators are able to get access to security camera footage since I know the area he was in and what time and I just need to know if he was with anybody else for my peace of mind. I honestly don’t know where else to turn to and I’m just feeling so heartbroken because he denies being in that location but I saw where he was on Find My Friends since we share iPhone locations.
