Hi everyone. For context, I have just started my final student teaching placement in a Kindergarten classroom about two weeks ago. This placement will last me until the first week of May.
I have noticed some cattiness from my mentor teacher since Iâve started - she can talk quite condescendingly (not just to me), and is a bit âroughâ all-around. Sheâs good with the kids, however, so I kind of just chalked it up to that being her personality and began working hard on my lessons and building student relationships.
However, Friday was rough. I had my first observation by my university supervisor, and was over-the-moon by my marks. Of course there were areas of improvement, but overall, I received a âhighly effectiveâ rating in multiple categories, and felt proud that my hard work was reflecting through my teaching. My university supervisor left very happy with me.
After he was gone, I asked my mentor teacher how she felt I did, and if she could provide some feedback on my lesson. I was met with about one million little nitpicks and then a âbut it was fine.â Again, I know that I am here for guidance, and I want as much feedback as possible! I guess I was just kind of looking for her to say she was happy that I scored âhighly effectiveâ (and I know that she saw the rating because she had to sign off on it before my university supervisor left).
This was the worst part. On Friday afternoon, I led the students outside of the school to the parent pick-up line. My mentor teacher was inside the doors chatting it up with another teacher. I had the children line up on the wall quietly and prepared myself for my mentor teacher to join me to begin helping to walk them to their cars.
All of a sudden my mentor teacher comes out of the doors screaming, âstart loading kids into cars! What are you doing?!â Sheâs yelling at me in front of the entire class and all of the parents in the line.
I looked at her, kind of shocked, and began telling her, âI am not familiar with these cars, and am uncomfortable putting kids into cars of parents I donât know without your guidance or without you being outside-â
She totally cuts me off and goes âno, you do what I tell you to do when youâre here. I didnât tell you to hold the door for the kids or those teachers, I told you to start loading kids up!â
I was so embarrassed. She scolded me like one of the Kindergarteners in our class in front of not only the class but all of the parents as well. I tried talking to her about it after the kids were gone, but she refused, and said that I need to be doing what sheâs telling me at all times. I left in tears.
Is this a normal part of student teaching, or should I reach out to my university supervisor and express my concerns? I donât want to be too sensitive, but I am also working hard and donât feel itâs right to be scolded in front of the entire class. I am seriously so embarrassed. Any insights would be amazing.

2025.02.01 22:08 shades_of_jay LEDs are an environmental scourge
Now that I have your attention. I have no problem with LEDs and actually am grateful for the efficiency, flexibility and creativity they enable. But what Iâve begun to realize is that a proliferation of cheap Chinese electronics and use of integrated LEDs in fixtures is contributing to an extreme amount of waste. I made the terrible decision to buy some integrated LED ceiling and closet lights off amazon. Within 6 months all of the closets lights failed, that was 9 fixtures that went into the garbage because⊠nothings replaceable. Same with the ceiling lights, 6 not inexpensive fixtures needed to be replaced after 3 years. Of course all of these required an electrician to replace as well as they were hardwired. I also just noticed a bathroom fixture with 5 big globe lights are also integrated LEDs, not bulbs, so when one burns out the whole fixture goes in the trash. At least I know that going forward I will chose to pay more for higher quality fixtures that will save me money in the long run and not use any integrated LEDs in always on situations like hallway lights - those always will use LED bulbs.

Hi guys, recently I've been having a recurring issue where my mob 6 randomly twitches to the right on the roll axis. It still flies, but the twitching is very annoying and often destabilizes me. It went away for a while, but after a bit of flying its back again and doesn't seem to want to go away. I only got this drone about a week ago and I'm a pretty new pilot so I'd really appreciate if anyone could help me out!

Idk what the last couple updates did but I am constantly laser beamed by PMCs. Iâm peaking a corner silently? Head eyes. I peak 50/80/100 meters out? Iâm getting railed with bullets automatically, if I donât constantly move L/R Iâm dead most of the time itâs one shot. How are they so accurate shooting so fast?? I go to a different position, peak and Iâm eating bullet. Wait it out, different position, same. I aim at a Scav walking away from me across a field? 2025.02.01 22:08 RealCorp Poor Game Performance On New Build.
Looking for advice/to see if my build is underperforming. Ryzen 7600 with Radeon 7900 GRE and 32GB of DDR5 CL30-6000 memory. In Space Marine 2, I struggle to hit 75fps consistently on all ultra settings in 1080p. I can get a consistent 60fps but not 75 oddly enough. Same thing in Helldivers 2, on all ultra settings with super sampling at 1080p, I can hit 60fps consistently (with drops to low 50s on urban maps), but cannot get a consistent 75fps. Is this typical performance for my specs or is my rig underperforming? Would increasing my resolution to 1440p give me a performance uplift by putting more load on my gpu? Just looking to temper my expectations and see what my build is realistically capable of.
