After going back and forth with a friend I came to a theory that Lu Guang wasn't trying to kill Vein, but that he was after Vein's (still unknown) power.
A few bits that helped me come to this:
1. Wang Qing's student numbers match Chinese words for "Fake death ability user", implying that she can kill someone temporarily. 2. Lu Guang stalled Vein for something, theory is that he knew Vein would die/fake die there if he stalled him. Probably to give enough time for CXS's mom to leave the body so WQ could kill Vein. 3. CXS's mom couldn't do anything about the notebook, so she left knowing what WQ can do. When WQ came back and saw the notebook being taken away she called Vein's full name - probably what lets her kill someone (Death Note moment). That way she stops him from taking the notebook. 4. This means that Lu Guang didn't kill Vein, WQ did, Lu Guang only entered the body to get Vein's power (because we know when someone dies, the person closest to them gets the power).
Now, we don't know a few things:
- Does the power transfer work if its fake death; considering how Vein was apparently actually dead for a while, it is very likely that it works
- Can unconscious people get powers? Cheng Xiaoshi was also there and alive, but the chances are that power transfer only happens if the person is conscious
- Who gets the power if someone is possessed, the body or the soul? The soul getting the power isn't farfetched if we go with the theory that only conscious people can get the ability, because in that case WQ is technically also unconscious.

Pretty fun seed I found. I died being greedy the first time through so had to replay. I was going for flush fives.
- Skip the first two antes to get a free DNA and Blueprint. I played on Ghost Deck and hexed the Blueprint.
- After the ante 3 sb, there's an Ectoplasm in the shop that I used on the DNA.
- In the first few antes I bought Grabber, Wasteful, Hieroglyph, and Director’s Cut (I don't remember the order they show up)
- After the ante 4 sb, reroll once to get an Invisible Joker and Cryptid. I used the Invisible Joker on the polychrome Blueprint.
- After the ante 6 bb, get the Arcana Pack to pick up Triboulet.
- After the ante 7 sb, get the Buffoon Pack for a Hanging Chad.
- After the ante 8 sb, there's a polychrome jack you can pick up and then strengthen. By this point, I had been duplicating glass red seal kings already so I don't know if this was worth the effort in retrospect.
- After the ante 10 boss, reroll a few times to get Sock and Buskin. After a couple more rerolls, there's an Emperor with a Wheel of Fortune inside that you can use to polychrome the Sock and Buskin.
- After the ante 13 bb you can get Chicot from the Arcana Pack.
- After the ante 14 sb you can Ectoplasm the Chicot. The hand size wasn't an issue for me because my deck was built enough by then that I didn't really have to worry.

I was scrolling through this sub and randomly thought back to this scene from dance moms where they played the watermelon game and Maddie ended up hurting herself. None of the other moms believed that Maddie hurt herself and instead thought she was lying because she didn’t win. Similar to when Kenzies foot was hurting during the hiphop routine and the moms thought she was lying because she was afraid she would do poorly.
So my question is do the Ziegler’s have a consistent pattern with faking injuries or was this just another case of the moms taking any opportunity they could to verbally attack the Zieglers?
