I have been riding for about 3 years and have finally come to buying my own board. I want to get a salomon assassin but I don't know wich one to get. I'm 5"11 and 195 lbs. I have ride c6 bindings and have size 9 1/2 boots. I am looking for something that can handle high speeds so I am looking at a wide board. I was thinking about getting the 163W but wasn't too sure if that was going to be too much for my size. If not I think the 158W will be good for me. Could anyone tell me if there is much diffrence between these boards and wich one I should get

2025.02.01 22:41 dbaker361 Is joining the Navy a good idea at 32 ?
Need to change careers this field is holding me back.
My background is in robotics, I have management experience in the industry. I've been in manufacturing for 8 years, I've worked in many different manufacturing plants all over the US and a few places abroad.
I'm also at a point where, everything is stagnant, I think I've found that this field isn't what I want to do anymore. I just can't seem to come up with other careers to transition to that can pay me close to what I make now.
So I'm planning on joining the military, hopefully as an officer. I have an BS in manufacturing engineering but my GPA was 1.9, I've already spoken with a recruiter but I have a few things to do first before I can go further.
The military seems like it will do a lot for me and my family. I can give my GI bill to my daughter when she's college age or my wife if she wants to go back to school. Plus there is less tax on the income. I plan to keep my current house and rent it when we move. I'll buy a new house each time we move and rent after we move. Plus if I stay in the military for 20 years I'll have a retirement pay.
I have some experience in programming c, c#, assembly, ladder logic, various robot language. I can do CAD and CAM. I read mechanical prints and electrical. I'm also personally interested in finance/investment and psychology.
What do you all think?

2025.02.01 22:41 StrongAction9696 What do I do if I just can't keep on, and I'm not the "motivational ex navy seal/ex overweight" person
I don't know if I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. I don't think I have the right mindset/personality like I'm one of those motivational ex-overweight people. But I know I can't just do that, I've been trying but I don't know if I really have tried.
You know that feeling of "oh man this is pointless it seems like, but we will atleast attempt it" and so you just go through it like a bird. You don't really know how to fathom it in a sad sense so you just try not to upset yourself struggling to do the best you can.
What can I do if I'm encountering this? I feel like everyday it gets a pinch worse, but by some miracle I hold it together.

2025.02.01 22:41 TaciturnTrepidation difficulty with seemingly permanent intense light sensitivity from a stabilized condition (25 F/ftm)
My health issue is assumed to be a genetic autoimmune condition (bloodwork is hyper-specific with autoimmune conditions, so they could only tell it wasn't something major like Lupus). The condition with my eyes is down as Chorioretinitis (right eye), Optic Disc Edema (right eye), and Retinal Vasculitis (both eyes). While, thankfully, my most troubling symptoms (like visual disturbances) went away with treatment, there's still something major troubling me. That would be my light sensitivity. It limits a lot of things for me, especially with everything going to LED or RGB or "everyone wants bright lights and/or a screen to show them everything".
I tried bringing up the lasting effect of light sensitivity, but my optometrist, going on maternity leave, gave me a basic "some people are just born more sensitive to light than others" and left it at that. This isn't the case with me, because I was the type of person that loved going to the light isle in Home Depot and would be fixated on bright visuals and loved going outside before my condition got intense in the past 3 years. I went from a person seeking out pretty bright visual stimulation to someone who can't handle being outside of a dim room without stinging irritation and/or getting ocular migraines constantly. I was hoping it would go away with my condition being in normal ranges and stabilizing (to the point I'm on a medication break currently, my last medication for it was mycophenolate), but it quite literally stayed the same compared to practically every other symptom that did stop or go away.
I miss being able to look at the range of light I used to, or even looking at something pretty without it stinging my eyes, but I'm not sure if this is a permanent "new normal" for me or if it could be relieved to where it's not a problem. I wouldn't know if I could manage this with my optometrist being unavailable currently. She wasn't my original provider, since my original one changed districts and couldn't see me anymore, so maybe she just isn't familiar enough with me to know it's a new and lasting symptom. Either way, she didn't give me advice on how to manage this symptom either.

2025.02.01 22:41 Dsteel22 Floodlight camera constantly triggers
I have 2 wired floodlight cameras and an outdoor4 camera purchased a year and a half ago. All have been working great. Randomly, without changing any settings, both floodlight cameras started recording motion detection every ~5 min, nonstop until I disable motion. I’ve done a hard reset, updated firmware, cleaned the sensors and camera lens. Sometimes they start right away after turning motion back on, sometimes they take a few hours to start the cycle. Normally use a setting of 8 for sensitivity. Reduced to 3 and it stops, however, then it doesn’t pick up actual motion. One is pointed front yard and the other is back yard. Outdoor4 also overlaps with front yard flood light and is acting completely normal.
Thoughts?
