 | February 1st, 2025 Hey everyone - Look. I just took these photos in the sky because of their brightness and odd closeness to the Moon (which also looks odd). A big bright one on the right and a lighter faded one on the lower left. You can see that I took these photos from our yard looking over your house. Here’s what online says the objects next to the Moon are: “If you're looking up at the night sky tonight and wondering what those bright stars are next to the Moon, you're actually looking at the planets Venus and Saturn. Venus is the brightest 'star' in the night sky throughout February 2025, and is a wonderful sight to see in the evening twilight. 17 hours ago. But … check out the Moon. It looks as if the white top is missing and a smaller light blue sphere is exposed. Here’s what online says about THAT: “The "top of the moon" isn't actually missing today; it's simply a different moon phase, meaning we are only seeing a portion of the illuminated side of the moon as it orbits Earth, making it appear as if a part is missing - this is a natural phenomenon called the lunar phase cycle. “ ‘A different Moon phase.’ Hmm. I’ve seen every phase of the Moon over 68 years. It’s full, half, 3/4, ICrescent (1/4) or totally eclipsed. When the Moon has a ‘phase’ (shadowing) it’s from the Earth being in-between the Sun and the Moon. As the orbit changes so does the angle of light which casts the Earth’s shadow on the Moon in various stages of fullness or lack thereof over a 30 day period. And since the Moon always has the same side pointing at us (hence the dark side of the moon) there SHOULDN’T be ANY ‘phase’ showing at the Moon’s equator (the top). For what is currently occurring - the Moon would either have had to ‘tilt’ forward 50 degrees toward Earth or another large object is blocking the sun’s rays with the exception of the top. The object would be either ‘behind’ us if the Moon hasn’t tilted or directly above the Moon at a more considerable distance away. What I’m saying is “It’s not normal.” NOTE: This narrative is what I wrote to my family. I can’t edit it. 38m here. Found this sub earlier today. My best friend is mutual friends with my ex and he told me after I poked a bit he went to a theatre production with his gf and my ex and her new partner.
I have barely talked to my ex in the last year and we have been broken up 2.5 years and it felt like a gut punch. She's manipulative and even after we broke up coerced me into sex and after 3 months we broke it off for good.
The first year was extremely hard. She moved on very quickly and I did not and really struggled. Year 2 was better but learning she is involved with someone else just stings.
Had a good cry last night and she is definitely resurfaced in my mind again on a more regular basis but I've held strong and haven't reached out or checked her social at all this year.
Just want to say I'm thankful there are dudes like me on the more sensitive side who struggle with these strong emotions and letting go. Some days are really hard and the monkey brain is strong some points of the day but she disrespected me numerous times during and after our relationship and I can't go back won't go back.

I mean. I'm 18F. I go to college but I decided to go to a local community college so I'm stuck at home. I don't really have any friends to confide in soooo Here I am. Stuck in a incredibly down spiraling household that's turning abusive.
This situation includes both a violent child and my parents. Also, I do not hate my brother or anything but it this shit is getting out of hand. I guess I could call myself a glass child but my parents do at least attempt to give everyone equal attention.
My brother is 14M which I will call 'J' and he's autistic. Now here's the deal: he gets super violent, towards my mom when she doesn't give him attention and my dad. I have 2 other younger sisters but J loves them and he doesn't get violent towards them. But they are going to become 'glass children' if this shit doesn't stop. J may have Borderline Personality Disorder Now, J has been becoming violent more recently towards my mom and her stuff and he hits shit around the house. It's like every 3 weeks he gets into a episode. He fights and hits and says he wants to be like a Sonic character. Today, it was Knuckles.
My mom and dad retaliate very harshly to him. J hits them, my parents hit back. Like I said, happens about every month. It gets to a fucking point man, no one wants to hear this. I would like to hear other people's perspective on this, because it's obviously not getting better, but how can I even think about helping him. Obviously parents really should not be fighting their child, but what is my mom to do, not defend herself?
Just today, my brother and parents were fighting, physically.
Fuck man. Late summer last year my dad and J started fighting, and the next day CPS got called and came to my house. I didn't really tell them what happened because I am forced to live in this house, and I told the agent that. There hasn't been any other visits. I have not told my parents what I said to the agent.
On Christmas Eve I think my parents actually called the cops on him because J was breaking stuff. My mom has always threatened to call the cops on J when he gets violent.
Like what the fuck do I do? I would say it's right to fight back against someone who's hurting you, but this is happening way to often and J is fourteen. I don't really like listening to two 30-40-something-year-olds yell and hit and restrain and threaten a 14-year-old every month or so, if you were wondering. And my two sisters absolutely do not need to be hearing all of this fighting. My mom has healed scars from this. I really just want to tell my mom to let him go back to the hospital and find something for him that doesn't involve her fearing for her well-being when J's around (she has told me this personally) and J getting into fights with a military veteran. Seriously, if I tried to intervene they would push me away in fear of me getting hurt. Better them than me and my siblings, it's understandable.
J has talked about running away, killing my dad, and he thinks that they don't love them when it's all over in the end. He talks about going to jail even when he's not angry. He's not going to grow into a healthy child. And it's their fault too. Who knew that hitting for easily impressionable autistic child (mom) and constantly getting angry at him (dad) when he's younger makes him think that this is how you get out anger when he's a hornonal teenager? You are changing your parenting style too late. The consequences are breaking you apart. Do you relish this abuse? It's not normal, something has got to give. J's never gonna recover from this shit man, and I don't know why my parents are just letting this happen, it's really fucked up and nothing is better better. Seriously, we need some antipsychotics in here. This week, my brother tried to jump off a second story building at school apparently. He said he wanted to be Sonic the Hedgehog. I'm seriously concerned and I don't know what the fuck my parents are doing we need to get him out of here for everyone's sake wtf. I do not want my 1 ½ years that I'll be staying home a bit longer for to be dotted with the stains of this. I see the future, and it's not bright. Especially with that one guy in executive office's opinions on disabled people...
I'm so tired. I wish I decided to go off somewhere to a university with a dorm, so I don't have to deal with this bullshit. My dad is super fucking annoying too. But then I would worry about my brother, and about how my sisters will develop, because my dad is way too fucking annoying and does not need to be putting up such a tone with kids who aren't even preteens. I don't know how to drive, I can barely fucking cook, and I can barely talk to people. I wanna go home, somewhere else, this isn't how you live a life. I could ask my parents for whatever I want and they would get it for me, they help me when I'm in a bad mood, but it's not enough. They would genuinely never hurt me, not anymore. I got some new anxiety meds. I'm still not happy where I should be, at home.
I wanna go home, because this is not one.
I honest to god so not hate my brother, at least not like how some people here talk. Just really concerned when I do start thinking about him, and how to help. And just maybe I get sad seeing how other siblings interact with each other. Just a little. Would love to hear you guys' opinions on what I'm going through, honestly.

como no título, irei fazer 20 anos amanhã e sempre tive o desejo de sair de casa ao perceber que problema não era eu (sempre pensei que a culpa era minha), mas infelizmente não quero estragar minha vida me sujeitando ao subemprego e deixar de evoluir profissionalmente ou não ter estabilidade, por isso que um dos objetivos que tenho em mente é continuar na casa dos meus pais até conquistar uma moto, pois caso desse tudo errado, eu teria como última opção e garantia de renda ser motoboy.
Atualmente, trabalho como Jovem Aprendiz no setor do depósito e irá completar 1 ano esse mês e 99% de certeza que irei fazer uma faculdade no ramo de Administração, Contabilidade e Atuária em uma federal ou pelo o PROUNI no período noturno.
Diante do contexto, irei expor mais detalhes sobre meu futuro a curto prazo que será decidido ainda esse mês:
Efetivação no meu atual trabalho - Isso realmente vai acontecer se eu quiser, trabalhar como estoquista ganhando 2K se bater a meta (Sonho da moto é mais próximo), fora os outros benefícios, o que falta é quando oferecerem a proposta, eu negociar o horário para sair 1h mais cedo para ir à faculdade.
Ir para outro Jovem Aprendiz em uma empresa do mesmo grupo (é a "mãe" da empresa que trabalho - Seria em uma função próxima da minha faculdade, servindo já de experiência para a área e uma possível efetivação a longo prazo e tendo mais tempo para investir em mim, eu fiz a entrevista terça e irei receber o resultado provavelmente nessa segunda ou terça.

I'm trying to remember everything about last night's dream but what I can recollect was that I owned a lot of cats and dogs (all shades of orange, dirty white coat). I was trying to feed everyone in a barn so when I was going to put down the food for the dogs (I already did the cats portion) this jet black ram just jumped at me and started nibling on my heel. Which was insane because I tried to wiggle my leg to make him stop but boy this ram was locked in. When I started walking off, he then pounced on me and still kept biting my heel. I remembered shouting at him "Did you forget that your a herbivore???" as I try to break free from his weight (He did keep biting my heel but there was really no blood or wound) then my dream shifted to a different one.

I'm coming back to MacOS after 18 years. I loved my old MacMini. :) At work, I usually use MobaXterm on my Windows PC because it has a sidebar with the servers I connect to frequently and MobaXterm also starts up an. sftp file browser for easy file transfers. I do more UNIX (RedHat, Solaris, and AIX) admin stuff than development so my terminal needs are a little different than a developer.
If there anything like MobaXterm for MacOS?

I am this 18 year old kid who lives in Oregon. But I'mma tell you when I was about 10, and living in my parents house. So on a Wednesday afternoon after I got home from school I would always look outside my room window, and what I saw was someone moving in next door to my house, it was a man, probably around his mid-30s to his early 40s. At first he didn't seem odd or anything, just a normal guy moving in. Over time he started to get creepy though like he would just stare at our house if he was outside, checking the mail or just sitting on his porch. When me and my friends was outside playing he would always try to talk to us but my mom always said don't talk to strangers so we would just go back inside once he was walking over to us. One day, when my mom was at work my dad and I was watching movies together in the living room til' we was interrupted a few hours later, by this time the sun had already gone down. My dad had paused the movie and gotten up to see who it was, he peeked through the peep whole in our door. He opened the door. I then saw that it was our creepy neighbor from next door. My dad asked once he opened the door "what do you need sir" the man then pointed straight at me and said "the child, I want the child" "my kid is not for sale, now get off of my property" my dad had said with a little bit of aggressiveness in his voice. I can clearly see the man was getting mad but walked away like he was told to. My dad closed the door and sat back down on the couch. We finished a another movie before my dad had to do go pick up my mom from work. He told to get in bed and said that he loved me before leaving, I of course when to bed after I got done brushing my teeth. I woke up a few hours later to it being cold in my room, I looked around my to see that my window was wide open and air was coming in. But despite the chilling air I knew something was off, very off. I got up from my bed and checked my closet but nothing was there I then looked under my bed but I what I saw scared me to death. My creepy neighbor was under my bed sleeping, I had to walk out of my room as quietly as I can trying not to wake him up. I made it to my parents room where I woke them up and told them what I found under my bed, my mom was horrified while my dad was pissed he then started to call the cops. After a few minutes the cops came and went into my room, I could hear some struggling before I saw my neighbor hand-cuffed and walking out of my room and into the cop car. Apparently he was wanted for murdering children in many states. Hopefully I never see him again.
