Recently my dad had has been opening up about his shitty childhood and alcohol/drug use as an adult. I never cared to drink or use drugs unless socially and much prefer to be sober these days and/or when I’m alone. I asked my dad why he continued to do these substances even into his 40s and early 50s and all he could really say was because of his childhood and that sometimes people do these substances to cope.
I hear him but it’s just very hard for me to understand because my dad is really smart and collected when he wants to be but has a habit of making the stupidest decisions that can easily be avoided. Both my mom and dad made sure I had a good childhood with lots of love the best they could even tho they had their fair share of nasty arguments and other issues. Just wanted to know what y’all think? My dad is currently sober now besides the occasional drink at a restaurant but even that’s rare now. He regrets doing these substances but I think it just took him a long time to realize the negative effects it had on me and my mom and his jobs.  | Things started off well when one of my guys got the ice staff out of the mystery box. We also made a 2nd one just for extra support… We complete the blood sacrifice and got the golden plates on round 25 (definitely recommend doing it) and headed over to the boss at round 26… It took us about 30 minutes to even figure out how to damage it! But once we got going we were chugging along! Then one of us went down and lost their perks! And it was down hill from there! I recently quit my job at a retail store due to a toxic work environment—disrespectful management, gossip culture, and overall negativity made me sick enough to leave. After quitting, I got a call back to my old job at a different location where I used to be a store manager.
However, things aren’t the same:
- I was rehired as a sales representative, not a manager, and the pay is now 16.50/hour(downfrom16.50/hour(downfrom17.50 at my previous job).
- The management has changed, and the protocols are much stricter.
- The store seems to have declined since I left—low traffic, language barriers with customers, and sales are not straightforward.
- My old customer base is gone, which is heartbreaking because I spent 6 years building relationships and growing from a rep to a manager.
- The pay is lower, and even though they want me to work full-time, I don’t feel like it’s enough to live on.
- The 1-hour lunch break feels excessive, and I’m considering getting a second job to make ends meet.
- I’m also feeling the pressure of high expectations with low pay, especially in this harsh economy.

I’m between a couple of multivitamins which have been recommended to me: Naturelo one daily, Kirkland daily multi, Adams Now multi and Life extensions multi
I’m currently taking the Naturelo multi but I wanted other options for when I run out or if I should stick with that one. I’m also taking Sports Research Omega 3.
For reference I’m 30 y/o and workout 4-5 days a week. Main reason of taking a multi is just for insurance to fill in the gaps whenever my diet is not great.
Any recommended general health stack is appreciated!

hii, i saw this webtoon on the front page- thought i saved it for later but i guess i didn't :((
i believe the synopsis was about two people (blonde FL, brown haired ML) who traveled through time, each time they'd meet each other and built up some romantic connection.
the beginning i did read, there was a young blonde girl running through the palace looking for a library. she meets a couple of nobles, asking them where the library is. one of them starts to reprimand her for not using proper greetings, but the older man (i assume royalty) excuses her and lets her know where it is. when she gets there, she meets a boy sitting on the floor.
sadly, that's all i got up to- not even though the first chapter :( please help me if anyone knows what i'm talking about !!

 | hello! i found this reddit group today and found peace in reading all of you stories and wanted to share my own. i am 17 years old and welcomed my son on 12/25/24 10:45 am at 28 weeks & 4 days. the morning of 12/6/24, my water broke at 25 weeks & 6 days. i then had to spent 20/21 days in the hospital from experiencing PPROM (preterm premature rupture of membranes). due to my low amniotic fluid, my son experienced small dips in his heart rate. when he was finally delivered i felt so at peace and happy. then unfortunately my son was diagnosed with grade 3 ivh, and his chest scan showed that a small flap in his heart did not close all the way. tylenol fix the second issue. as for his ivh it is just a waiting game. he has had about 4 head scans since and his last have shown that his ventricles has shrunk in size a bit and is meeting all the milestones as he should. just the talk of needing a shunt is a bit of intimidating but nothing we can’t handle! so far his head circumference is steady, and also just turned 34 weeks today! he finally has changed over from having a mouth feeding tube to a nose one! and finially off cpap and on room air, i’m just so proud of my little soldier! when i came into the nicu today they said he started to take the bottle today 🤗! so now this is just a waiting game, cant wait till bring baby boy home and this all be a distant memory. feel free to share your story here as well or even advice submitted by No_Culture_9100 to NICUParents [link] [comments] |
