Okay so... This is gonna be VERY unusual so bare with me.
For context, I was abandoned by my father when I was young and it still stings when I think about it sometimes, but with the help of Jesus I've forgiven him and I got rid of all the misplaced guilt I used to feel about the subject.
The problem is that I've developed a very strange problem/addiction that I've never seen anyone else have.
I used to imagine my dad abandoning me over and over, sometimes for hours, and it felt pleasant somehow. I'd imagine myself working as hard as I could to please him and make him stay, but it never worked and he just left anyway. I remember feeling so needy and helpless, but the whole thing felt so... Good. Like, my body felt relaxed when I burst into tears after hours of that emotional torture. It was toxic? kinda? but good enough that I'd keep doing it every couple of days to get pleasure off of it. If I did it more than once a day I'd get DANGEROUSLY depressed though, so I had to calculate how many hours I could keep that up without wanting to off myself afterwards. It was weird.
After I found Jesus, I stopped with that completely and I even promised I wouldn't do it again, but I don't actually know why that's a wrong thing to do, aside from emotionally torturing myself for a couple minutes of relief.
When I feel needy I still feel like doing that again sometimes. Nowadays I prefer relying on Jesus for help with these problems, but I wanted to know why this would be wrong. I've never met anyone who's been through this before.
Can someone help me?

I love dragons, and they don't get much attention in magical girl stuff, and if they are present, it's as monsters of the week, so like Thanos, I said "Fine, I'll do it myself".
There are six girls who are half human half dragon, each empowered by an element(Light, Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, and Darkness.) Similar to WITCH, the first letter of everyone's name spells the word "Dragon". Also greatly inspired by the Power Rangers. (Most of the real names are working names for now)
Dragon Knight White:
Real Name: Diana Starling
Element: Light
Weapon: Sword
Personality: Kind-hearted, noble, brave, and selfless. Has a strong sense of justice and is a very capable leader. While she by no means enjoys it, she is willing to kill if necessary.
Character inspirations: Tifa Lockhart(Final Fantasy 7; her appearance is mostly based on her), Optimus Prime(Transformers Animated), Leonardo(TMNT), Wonder Woman(DC), Bloom(Winx Club)

Real Name: Rose Torchwick

Personality: Arrogant and full of herself, but ultimately a very loyal friend. Very playful and flirtatious, and has very indiscriminate tastes(she's openly pansexual). Her teammates give her the affectionate nickname of "Princess".

Is on good terms with her teammates, calling them Big Sis, and they in turn call her Little Sis.

2025.02.02 05:00 TheRealMazioman What historical periods would you want to see covered in future shows?
Just wondering what you guys think because I just started Nocturne and I'm loving the way the shift in eras feels from early-renaissance to revolutionary France. That got me thinking about where the show as a whole could go in the future (pun intended), or conceivably the past as well.
My idea, silly as it sounds, is that the next show should be set during the Civil War in the United States. Think about it: You could have a hillbilly Belmont hunting Confederate vampires, there's an obvious villain in the scenario, you could include Lincoln saying a line like: "What do I look like, a vampire hunter?" (iykyk). Maybe I'm crazy, but I just think it's time we have a Belmont that'll say "cattywampus" and uses backwoods Appalachian sorcery.
Victorian England would be fine, but I wanna see something really different, and I honestly don't think I've seen an anime depiction of the civil war, even as a setting, which as an American with relatives that died on both sides of the conflict, that wouldn't offend me at all, it was a long time ago and it should be remembered far more than it should be forgotten, but I know some of us like to get silly about certain artistic depictions of our military. Plus you can't tell me there weren't 100% Confederate vampires in real life, I mean what do you call a plantation owner?
Anyway, what do y'all think? When do you want to go?

Posting this for my boyfriend, so if any info is needed, I will clarify with him as he's not good with reddit.
Most likely fiction, but may be based upon non-fiction.
One volume/half of the book is remembered as having a plot involving the attempt by the military squad to stop a nuclear launch.
Both volumes of the book is recalled to have been about the same military squad, but no other details are known about the characters.
Military Special Ops was the overall "genre" of the book, he's not certain if it contained Sci-fi or fantasy elements, or anything else that might help find it.
Book is separated into two volumes of sorts, with each half of the book being a separate story around the same characters and their different missions/adventures. When one finished one half, they flipped the book over and read from the other side.
Book was a paperback, he recalls one side of the cover being darker and the other side may have been white/arctic themed.
Time period of the book was mostly modern warfare, not super historical (I.e, not as far back as WW1 or WW2)
Book wasn't especially long, but wasn't a short story. Not likely to have more than 20 chapters in total between both sides/volumes.
Read in English. We're located in Ontario, Canada.
He was between 9 and 12 (4th grade to 7th grade) when he read it, and got it from his school. Possible it came from the library, but he thinks it came from a book fair.
Was likely age appropriate, with no sexual themes or especially graphic portions, but may have had death/violence/blood/harsh language due to being a military ops book
The book itself was likely relatively new, or at least the paperback he received was in good condition.
Age range was very likely 13+ or younger, but may have been young adult fiction depending on the specific area and regional rating.

She comes home sits on the PC as if nothing happened, my mother's ashes are in her room, and she says she's still alive.
I havre police records to prove it, funerary records and yet she acts as if nothing ever happened, it's driving me insane, hoe can someone do this. It's like I'm living in a twilight zone episode, and all our friends have been to the funeral and they know and yet, again, she "didn't do anything".
I don't know if I'm overracting or not but how can you kill someone's parents and be completely oblvious, clueless like that...

Our first Bichon passed away of cancer last July. Our Havanese never knew a day without him until the day he died. 2 weeks ago we brought home another Bichon. We were worried about how she would react because she doesn’t really like other dogs. Within 48 hours they were sleeping in the dog bed in my husband’s office. The photos are of Daisy and Cotton at Christmas time when he was healthy and Daisy and Pippin just a few days after Pippin joined the family.
