It doesn’t even have to be danmei. My favourite parts of TA was how honestly probably Shen Qiao’s personality and the way it interacted with the various happenings in the story. The progression of the plot around the political conflicts and other characters like Chen Gong was also something I really liked!! I’m looking for similar books, regardless of whether it’s danmei or not. I really want something which has TA’s political intrigue, complex martial arts or battles, and engaging characters (the humour that Yan Wushi’s teasing added would be a bonus). I just DNF-ed a book where the female main character wouldn’t stop blushing at every decent looking male character that glanced at her. It was awful and I’m looking to avoid that but books like that are everywhere 😭
TLDR If anyone has any book recommendations that are like TA, (i.e. well written plot and characters) please kindly suggest them in the comments!! Doesn’t matter if it’s not danmei!
