I'm new to Maryland, and I am curious about the process of registering a car that has a lien. I just registered and titled one of my cars that I own outright, and the process was pretty straightforward and simple. But, my other car has a lien (so I don't have the title), and I have not yet registered it in MD.
Looking through the MVA's website, I see that I have to submit the paperwork to send to the bank to get the title sent to them. But my questions are:
- Do I have to wait for the bank to send the title before I can get the MD license plate, or do I get the plate that day while we wait for the bank?
- Do I pay up front, or do I pay after the title is sent in?

I ended things with my boyfriend about a year ago. The relationship was horrible and abusive in every way possible. I still struggle to comprehend that what happened to me was real. Things have been pretty good these past few months. I have been struggling with some PTSD symptoms but nothing that I haven't been able to work on with therapy. My ex got a new girlfriend maybe two weeks after I fully cut things off.
To get to the point, a week ago, I got a call from my ex. He was crying (something he never EVER did in the three years that we dated) and was asking about all the things he did wrong in the relationship. He proceeded to tell me that he and his girlfriend had broken up and that he had tried to kill himself. He told me he wasn't sure who else he could go to cause he knew that I still cared and would always care about him. Since this initial phone call, we have talked every day. He reaches out every evening and asks if we can talk on the phone, which we do. I can't find it in me to not talk to him and tell him how horrible being in contact with him is for my mental and physical health. Most of the phone calls consist of him talking about this girl he was with and how hurt he is over this break-up. Otherwise, we talk about our relationship and the horrible things that occurred. He has apologized profusely. Anyway, I know I need to block him and remove him from my life completely.
I am just posting here because I need a community of support. I know I need to remove his number, I don't have to worry about him showing up at my house because I have since moved to a new town post-break-up. Should I message him first and tell him I can't be his friend or his support system? Should I just block him without saying anything? Should I support him and then let the contact slowly fizzle out? I truly don't know how to feel, I feel so guilty for potentially blocking him and for leaving him alone in a time of need.
Any advice or support is appreciated.
