 | I hired a GC to do the plumbing, concrete and erection of a Mueller steel 60x45 (that I paid directly) south of Houston. The concrete guys used the Mueller supplied anchor bolt baseplate wood templates with a nut under the template. The floors were power trowel finished, but they didn't do a good job smoothing out the concrete when they removed the templates. After the steel was erected, about half of the baseplates have a gap under them, ranging from 1/8" to 7/16". The erectors say it looks like the steel is resting on the nuts used on for the templates and it's fine (ie they're not going to do anything about it). The above pic is the worst one, and it's tough to tell if thats the nut or just concrete around the anchor bolt. Mueller says it'd be advisable to epoxy grout under them since it was engineered for the entire baseplate to bear on the concrete. I'm fairly handy so figure I'll fix it myself (plus don't even know where to start to look for someone to do that). Any suggestions on materials or method? We spec Sika products at work, but no idea what of the dozens are right for this situations. I figure make a small form around each baseplate, drill 2 holes on top, one to inject the epoxy and the other to allow air to escape. Or am I way off on this? I (21M) was in a car with my friend (21F) outside her house at 11:30 PM. I was there to drop her off. The car was off, and after 2-3 minutes of sitting there, two policemen on bikes passed us. Then, they saw our car, turned around, knocked on the window, and started asking questions. We answered honestly.
Then, one of them asked me to step out of the car, which I did. They searched the car (they found nothing), and then they asked me for my Aadhaar card. I handed it over, and the next thing they said sent chills down my spine.
The policeman holding my Aadhaar card said, "Agar Muslim hota toh Maa C**d deta." And then, they let us go.
On the way back home, I felt a strange mix of relief and fear. Relief—because I wasn’t a Muslim in that situation. Fear—because I kept imagining, what if I was? I had done absolutely nothing wrong, yet I could have been treated unfairly just because of my religion. The entire ride home, that thought haunted me.
This has to change. I know people will argue in the comments, disrespect other religions, or turn this into a debate. I get it. But if you hold power over someone’s life, you should not bring religion into it. That policeman could have ruined a 21-year-old’s life in a second.
To those who think there was nothing wrong with what the policeman said, I ask you to set aside hate and biases for a moment. Imagine if you were Muslim. Imagine if it was your son, your daughter, or yourself in that situation.
I am not hating on anyone—not on any religion or community. I am simply asking for a country where a person is not judged by their religion.

 | Bro! You’ve got to read this! Actually I loved the audio book version. Beowulf comes from the tradition of oral epic poems and hearing it spoken is the way it’s meant to be appreciated. In this version in particular, the translator imagined it a story recited in a beer hall. And using decidedly modern language she stays faithful to the tale and its linguistic telling. This is - and yet definitely is *not - the Beowulf you had to read in high school. It’s the same story but with more clarity, more raucous bravado, more resonance. The first third of the book is the translator talking about the process of working on Beowulf. Do not skip it!! It’s fascinating. I'm looking for a "smartphone" screen(preferably LED or OLED) to use for the top screen. I'd like for it to be a wider screen but not quite "long." It shouldn't be touchscreen, just like the original DS
It would be highly preferred for the connector to be very small like a ribbon cable and to be more centered in the rear and not stick out the side of the screen.
I said a smartphone screen since the size and shape of my Galaxy S23 screen is ideal. It's 6.2 inches (15.75 cm) diagonally with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, it looks great. I almost want to buy an S23 replacement screen to use with it, but I'm uncertain if it would connect to my RPi 4.
I will also need a smaller, likely 1:1 screen for the bottom part. This one should be touchscreen if possible.
Also, how could I connect these to my Raspberry Pi? It has a display ribbon cable slot, but only one. Do all screens have the same ribbon cable? If not, how would I get them working? Would I need to program or download a driver for the screens?
