tldr ; romantic love as an addiction. need advices on how to be sober - since its not a world wide recognised addiction. What are the tips as to still remain critical thinker , when a part of the biology is prone to be addicted to the high of romance - to the extent that it causes one's mind to be hijacked.
I know not everyone will agree its a big deal but results - broke, job loss, homeless, dropped grades, low self esteem, low self confidence, less aware of reality, desperation to get the drug(love), risky behavoirs to get it, losing touch with oneself, withdraw symptoms ( depression, moodiness, extremes, clinginess)
It might also be an unpopular opinion, but the drug I am getting sober from is romantic love.
I relapsed a year back after being sober for six months. Everything looks better and shiny but the cost of rhe drug destroyed my life.
I have seen smokers and vapers fare far better than me. Yes whatever the reason - one does drugs - I will not get into it. ( boredom, lack of healthy dopamine)
My addiction is slightly unpopular, but the effects are lethal, I was so addicted to a person's love that I felt like I didnt live when they werent there. Nothing made sense , my grades dropped , I was roaming jobless and homeless, because I spent all my time ( without my conscious control)
I can say hobbies are a replacement drugs I am willing to take. They lie in the realm of healthy drugs like caffeine. But losing the will to do anything as much because love hijacked the dopamine centres and going isolated and fixatious, and loosing critical thinking are nightmares to me.
My dumbness will cost me my life. I cannot afford this drug. Besides if you work on your job and you earn money no one sees your suffering - as to stage an intervention. Atleast I dont got those friends. Once a friend helped me and I understood but he shifted away from me and I relapsed again.
Lord makes everyone some weaknesses. And with a certain lust and love the dopamine is hijacked and I loose control. It causes me to go broke mentally and financially and emotionally.
I decide to be sober. I know one can label anything as an addiction but one has to understand that the one that makes them powerless and unconsious are significantly important to be sober from.
I have no other addictions, I maybe a voracious reader and somewhat of a hoarder ( again had to work hard to learn to give up on sentimental things) , I am not addicted to smoking/ substances since I got my highs here. But love has potential risk of me going broke and me not able to survive and me not able to think. ( thus me not able to be myself)
The addictions I want to keep - since dopamine will be there somewhere / Time management and discipline and a balanced overview of sustenance of life. Adopting budhism and yoga and meditation.
Hell, idk about others but idea of marraige was an endless supply of love, and endless supply of physical needs. The high! I cannot afford to give up critical thinking - because no one else will think for me or my best interests I will be either used or discarded.
I dont hold against people dating and meeting new people forming bonds and good connections and even sleeping with each other. But as an former addict I need to get sober, I am labourer and my labour needs my soberity. Also I would have found it highly unethical to become a romance writer.
What is the goal? The goal is to live 30 more years - and watch patterns , create something, sustain food/shelter needs, go hiking, own a pet, get that phd, get a partner I am not addicted to ( which I cant afford or guarentee right now)
I will relapse again, but thats for next year. I will keep off drugs this year strictly. No that doesnt mean I will close my heart, I will still meet people and like them and care for them.

2025.02.02 04:50 raeldor70 SDK Question. Surge is not TRUE surge.
For context, I am using the SDK from Unity and feeding the function as per the official documentation (https://gitlab.com/simracingstudio/srsapi)
So, here's the problem... I think I have most of it working, but surge is not a TRUE surge. I think they are making the assumption that all games are racing games, so when I feed to the surge parameter it tilts me backwards on my platform. That is not desired. If I wanted to tilt backwards, I would use the pitch parameter. My device is capable of true forwards and backwards surge without tilt, and I would like to know how to access that.
It seems to me they need to add a 'Long G Surge' to the motion parameters in addition to the 'Long G Surge Accel' and 'Long G Surge Acceleration Decel', which seem to be related to pitch and specific to racing only. In fact, those 2 parameter should probably be moved to the 'RACING' section?

I got the game from Epic, and each time I try to connect to HLL official servers, I load for 2-3 minutes only to get timed out.
normally I'd just reconnect again, but by the time I get kicked out, the server I tried to connect to is full now (I usually try to join 70-80 player servers)

 | If you loved the show, you’ll love this special performance at Kennedy Center! The show has all the joy and fun of the TV series, and the cast as a whole was great. A few people didn’t have as much of a way to shine as they normally do (I loved Kevin Del Aguila in Some Like It Hot, for example, but this role is smaller), but everyone was having a great time. My only negative was Ryan Vasquez - I have seen him in both The Notebook and Schmigadoon, and he was off-key in both roles. I really want to understand what’s going on there; I know he can sing, and his acting/comedy timing was great, but some notes were just flat tonight. I just had my MMR vaccine on 01/13.
We weren’t planning on starting IVF until 02/13 to wait one month.
Well I just got my period tonight, and I’m wondering if the MMR vaccine affects the stims process, or just the process of BEING pregnant.
We plan on doing FET so we can have our embryos genetically tested. Can we still go through with stims since the MMR vaccine was only about 2 weeks ago?

- This Summer, 4-5 nieces/nephews visiting. Want to give them something to do.
- Why Quest? I don't have other gaming PC or PS to use other type of VR headset. Standalone VR works great in my book.
- Planned on getting 2 headset. Maybe Quest 3 + 3s (due to budget reason).
- Do I need separate Meta account for each VR headset?
- If the game is not free, do I need to pay for both (assuming I can use 1 meta account).
- I read Quest has a companion app on smart phone, how does this works for multiple headsets? Anything I need to lookout for?
- What games would kids (9-13) would enjoy? Preferred coop and short session so they can share.
- How does local-coop game works?
- I read Quest support Steam link...with 2 headset...how do I go about it?
- Battery life - Can I get a 10ft cable and keep it plugged in at all time during playtime?
- Should I get a PS5 or Switch2 (if it releases) instead?

I received a 2012 escápe as a tip from a client. It was sitting for 2+ years. I have slowly replaced the entire front end except steering rack assembly and replaced struts and sway bar links and bushings in the rear…its was feeling great until about two days ago the steering is very loose and almost feels like its riding on just springs sometimes ive double checked everything and torqued everything again any ideas?

Saw my deceased friend and colleague (Nurse) at work one night shift-
I had a wonderful, kind friend who I worked with for a few years at a large pediatric hospital in San Diego. She LOVED her job and came to work with a big smile each night shift often in pink scrubs and a high ponytail. She was a joy to be around and sadly, diagnosed with leukemia and passed away 2 years later. About 6 months after she passed, I was walking down the hall of the hospital unit we worked on. It was probably between 0100-0400am and I would often walk the halls to get some exercise and stay awake. When my friend was alive, she would sometimes take a nap in an empty patient room on her “lunch” break. As I walked that night I passed by an unoccupied patient room and as I passed the door, realized that a woman was actually inside the room sitting on the hospital bed wearing pink. It took me a second to register that, but knowing that there should not be a person in that room, I walked back to check out the room, and for the briefest moment, saw that it was her; sitting on the side of the hospital bed in pink scrubs, ponytail, big smile on her face as if to say “hey, just checking on you all and hoping the night is going smooth.” I called out her name and then she was gone. I immediately started to cry and rushed to the nurses’ station and told my colleagues. They ALL thought it was her and that of course she would show up at work because she truly loved it. This was honestly reassuring to me and I think to my colleagues because we knew how much she missed work in the two years she was ill and unable to be there. This is a happy haunting and cemented in my mind that there is another realm we just don’t understand.
