Against Hugh in book 6. I haven't been this impressed with a written fight scene since I read Kelsier vs the Steel Inquisition in Mistborn book 1. These are two very different types of fights, where the author was really creative and intricate in how they played out. For the Hugh spar, I was actually on the edge of my couch. I kept stopping it to comment amazement to my nearby wife, who's read the entire Kate Daniels series and recced it to me.
Fight scenes aren't why I read books, and not what I most appreciate about this series. But when they're well done, I give credit where it's due

I just realized something today. Most of my traits are just being lonely, left out, not being able articulate, and mostly just really dull and boring. To add onto that, I was never popular, repelled guys throughout all of middle and high school. Occasionally, I can make a joke only about myself. But for the most part it’s a sad lonely life.
I learned a long time ago that I might be the way that I am because of my birthday but like…. I’m basically a loser. People who are charismatic, lovely, articulate could easily trump me. I don’t get why people romanticize the loner traits of Aquarius. If I were born again, I’ll chose to be someone normal like Cancer, Libra, or Gemini. Especially Virgo(good for academics). I’m really sorry. I’ve been depressed for a long time now. I just want to be social and likable like the extrovert I think I am. Not cursed with looking like Wednesday Adams without the likable traits.
You can’t even talk about ambition because I went to college and was able to achieve NOTHING. It’s like somewhere deep down in my subconscious, I have no dreams or purpose. I’m turning 26 on February 13th, people.

 | I recently took on a foster who was a day away from being put down in an LA shelter. He’s a very polite and shy boy. About 40lbs. Gets along with cats and dogs and is potty trained from what I can tell. He is nervous, the only thing I know about him is he was previously abused. He is crate trained and quiet. But enjoys spending time out on walks or lounging in the living-room. If you’re looking for a companion or a 2nd dog he’s your guy. He would do well with another dog around to build up his confidence. My only issue is my partner is extremely allergic to him and I would hate for him to have come this far to go back. I know I’m a guy, and we are supposed to be hairy, but my body is way, way hairier than the average guy. My legs are so hairy that I don’t even like wearing shorts. My hands are so hairy that I always wear full-sleeve shirts.
From my face to my chest to my legs, I don’t know why I have so much body hair, it just feels weird. Let me know your thoughts about it.

She gets to sleep in her bed like the princess she is and her peon children have to sleep on her floor while sick. When my kids are sick they sleep in their own beds and their rooms are in the same hallway as mine and I can check on them and get to them quickly if there is an issue. Her problem is her kids rooms are in the basement and also she's still trying to promote Beddy's even throughout all this. They're sleeping on Beddy's on her floor. I don't get it. Why is she such an asshole every moment of her life??

In November, 21, 2024, my transferrin was 202, which is considered under normal range, and my ferritin was 55.
About two months later on January, 24th, 2025 (last week) I got my Iron checked by my primary care doctor and it was a 36, which is considered under normal range.
Yesterday on January, 31, 2025 (only a week later) I got an iron profile done by my hematologist and my Iron is at 146, and my % saturation is 50 which is considered high. My iron binding capacity (TIBC) is 292 in normal ranges.
How can my iron go up from 36 to 146 in 7 days?
I am in line to get an iron infusion done. I'm really afraid my hematologist is going to tell me I can't get one now. How is my % saturation so high? None of this makes any sense to me. I have all the worst symptoms of iron deficiency. I have been chronically deficiency in iron for many years now, I have heavy periods that wipe me out... my symptoms are debilitating and I need this infusion. Can someone tell me what's going on here and if I'm at risk for not getting the infusion now?
