so um idk how to start this but i have a MASSIVE crush on this girl that i've been talking to for a while. we're pretty good friends and we talk a lot on discord, probably more on discord then irl. we've been talking since august 2024 and we just click so much. only recently has my crush on her started.. we have the same interests and even the same reactions to events. we have our own inside jokes too and everything. she's so sweet too and sometimes i think about getting married with her (yeah the crush is that bad)
i want to try asking her since i think i have a chance with her but i'm scared because if she says no then it'll just be awkward between us (or maybe it'll just be awkward for me) and we won't ever have the same friendship we once had.
i suppose i will just stick to talking to her whenever she sends me a message or something

Recently finished Introduction to Islamic Law and On the Origins of Muhammad Jurisprudence and thought they were fairly well written works, especially for the time period. That being said, having talked to some of the Islamic Studies professors at my school, Schacht is commonly referred to as an "orientalist", even if these professors seem to harbor similar opinions to him on hadith studies.
What's the broader academic opinion on Schacht? I understand that some of his thoughts are criticized (such as common link theory being too simplistic), but I personally never felt that his works were overly "orientalist"

Im a (F) stuck in this situation
All my friends thought that me and let's call him Mango broke up. My best friend hates him because he made fun of her dead dog. But then me and Mangos Mutual friends asked him if we were together and then he'd say yes. so that would confuse our mutual friends But then the mutual friend would come around my friends and bring up Mango. And I have to play it off because they don't know we're still together. And then Mango goes behind my back and texts my "friend" asking about me. My "friend" not knowing that were still together got confused and confronted me. The reason we're kinda only "friends" Is bc of her use of Nic. And she said that she heard that I was talking abt her behind her back. But I only do that with my friends and I accuse them and now they don't wanna talk to me anymore. and in order to "move on" from mango I told my friends about fake guys I made up. but then he thinks I cheated but im not a cheater. and I cant tell one friend the truth or else word will get out to my parents and they are unsupportive of everything
So today I tried to finally break up with mango (legitimately) and that's why all this happened, please give any advice I just need this off my chest

2025.02.02 05:54 Serious-Rabbit8708 7 years old and acting strange but had a recent surgery. Ticks or infection or am I paranoid?
 | Sushi is seven years old now, and she recently had to have pyometra surgery and it went pretty wrong. The vet didn’t send her home with antibiotics and when she got home, she was gushing blood out of her surgery wound and it turns out that it was blood and infection. This was about a month ago maybe longer and she’s not been right since however I’ve noticed there’s two of these little dots on her leg and on her stomach and to me they look a bit like ticks, but when I try to pull it out. It seems like it might actually be a skin tag That said she’s being super clingy, lethargic and kind of depressed seeming so I’m not sure if I should take her to the vet or if I should try to pull the skin tags/ticks off or what I should do so any advice is welcome. But after school i was feeling very lonely bcoz my parents are very controlling and dont let me hang out with my friends bcoz they care so much about my safety. I was literally sitting in a room alone and bored for about 3 months. I would be really envious of my friends who post going outings on social media with their friends and girlfriends. That time,i started watching porn,especially the incest ones like a wife cheating with his brother in law or nephew. Then i started fantasizing about my aunt(whom i would fantasize from childhood) and got addicted to it. Then i really wanted to have sex with her. I made some indirect advances towards her like making a buldge visible over the clothes while normally talking with her, moving myself a little bit to make a brief contact with her, and staring at her sexually . I did all this 1-2 times and tried to notice her reaction. I thought of proceeding further if she shows any positive signs or move aback if she shows any discomfort or negative reaction.
But i couldnt observe any reaction from her and then the college started for me and i eventually got distracted from all these. All these happened 8 months ago and for 8 months i have been focusing on my studies and my ocd recovery(with which i am suffering for about more than a year).
For additional context, she is the one who made tongue to tongue contact with me when i was 3 or 4 or 5 yrs old i am really not sure. I dont remember whether it is one time incident or not. But there is a blurry image of my aunt doing it to me in my mind. I am also not sure whether she did it with sexual intent but most of my friends with whom i shared said me it sounds very inappropriate. I was also thinking if she did it to me when i was that young,she would be probably accepting to the sexual advances i make now. I dont know whether she even noticed my advances or took it seriously or liked or felt harassed by it.But she doesnt show any external reaction. She interacts with me like it was before like nothing happened.
Nowadays i am feeling much guilt towards her husband who has been working and not in home mostly due to the nature of his job. I am not sure whether my aunt SAed me , I am not sure how much big of an asshole i am for making sexual advances eventhough i knew she is married and have a kid. But under any case, my uncle is an innocent in all of these and i feel more guilty towards him and i do for my aunt.
