If you're in the US right now and low spoons, you may not be aware of all that is going on or you may not know what to do concerning all that is going on.
I wrote this low spoon guide for my friend today to let them know what to do now, what to do soon, what to contemplate and preparedness. Posting it here in case it's of use.
Note: this thread isn't a political thread. It's a self care thread
Low spoon plan *Right now: *
- get your affairs in order by order of importance
- Use a VPN especially if looking at news, supplies, organizing, etc. (the free VPN app with the unicorn 🦄 lets you watch ads for VPN hours)
- Try not to make any outrageous or extravagant purchases or buy anything unnecessary (we do count mental health as necessary)
- Shop local when you can
- Freeze excess food and buy in bulk without hoarding when able
- Once you are ready but within a few months, have the discussion with your loved ones about what the plan is going to be: relocate? Stay and quietly organize? Stay and loudly resist? Will some relocate first and others later?
- Get a physical list of all your loved ones addresses and phone numbers and keep it in a safe space
- Get together a backpack with enough clothes, meds, physical cash, paper and pen, probably a book, ready to go food, water, and a flashlight for 3 days
- If you have any camping gear, make sure you know where it is and it's accessible
- Keep any important documents in a place that is easy for you or the person who holds them to grab
- Buy or locate a battery powered radio
- It is not a bad idea to get a solar powered phone charger
- leaving streaming and returning to physical media or 🏴☠️
- A national general strike will start on 3/15 (we hope) which means people don't purchase anything or go to work
- Joining a protest to find your local community that is doing work on the ground
- Leave Meta apps (don't close your account down, just delete and leave)
- Also 1 star review meta apps
- Cancel Amazon and any subscription apps that you are able to.
- Please remember not to shame people who may need apps due to a variety of reasons. There is no ethical consumption in capitalism.
- Donate or volunteer in your community

how long do the effects from that usually last? will i become dependent on them?
about 3 years ago or more i was diagnosed with calcific tendonitis and took medications to get it to go away. but it still hurt to sleep on that side and had limited range for quite a long time after.
so this month i can tell it came back as my arm is starting to hurt randomly throughout the day for no reason. i made a doctor appointment but ended up going to the hospital before that due to the unbearable pain. i couldnt move it at all for about 4 days. the day after the shot my arm hurt really badly but now 2-3 days after it's almost completely better.
they told me to go for physical therapy but i really don't have a dependable ride there for the 4 weeks they want me to go. i'm going to try to go that long but if not maybe they can teach me how to do some exercises at home.
how often does this issue come back? does it ever truly go away for good or will it just get worse as a i age? i'm a woman in my mid 30s and i have thyroid disease and chronic fatigue and arthritis. idk if i was just born was bad bones or if my thyroid caused a lot of other health issues.
i guess i just wanted to talk about it sorry for making this post so long.

My girlfriend and I are learning dutch together using duolingo, however I find that it is hard when one does not have a way to use that language. Ive tried apps to talk with native speakers, the kind where they want to learn your language and you want to learn theirs, however most of the time you both end up in a standoff of either trying to teach the other or waiting to be taught. Are there any sources we can use to practice Dutch?

Bueno la verdad no se si tiene ese tipo de apego o ya valió la relación, empezamos con ella todo bien conversábamos un buen de tiempo al día y hasta nos desvelavamos pero siempre ella se cerraba y no expresaba cono se sentía y eso pero últimamente ahora se cerró un poco más ya no escribe como antes pasa mucho tiempo sin contestar, se conecta pero en otras redes sociales y bueno yo le doy su tiempo y espacio pero ya me estoy agobiando y no se que hacer, ayudaaaa!
PS: aunque se burlen porque los conozco jajajaja yo soy muy sensible pero solo cuando estoy solo expreso ese tipo de sentimientos y me pongo a llorar sin que nadie lo sepa y ahora más con esto que está pasando porque yo la quiero un montón y creo que ella puede pasar todo el día bien al suave sin escribirme y yo no 😓

Self care involves much more than exercises, drinking recommended amount of water and meditation. So which is the much more?
It involves knowing your boundaries and keeping them to ensure emotional equilibrium in your eco system
Differentiating between the existence of 3 relationships that explains my stand in the boundary
1). Healthy Relationships
In this relationships, I am respected, supported and made to feel like a human. My feelings are acknowledged, my weakness guided, and my wins celebrated!
2). Unhealthy Relationship
In this relationship, I seem to be the one chasing it. I am ignored. I am not understood. I am not guided on anything. For the most part, I thrive on trying to do everything and become a people pleaser to fit in!
3). Abusive Relationships
I am blamed, everything I do is wrong!, Even when they do something wrong and I raise a concern, I am told I am exaggerating, manipulation and control is overboard, I cannot do anything without being told there is nothing I can accomplish. Insults are hurled at me left right center and sometimes beating.
Therefore, being able to play smart and tell the other person, this is the farthest you can come! I am protecting my boundaries is key. You matter before anyone else. # Self Care # Safe Boundaries
