For context, I’m in Oak Park. I live with my husband, in-laws, and toddler. Twice in the past month I’ve had people show up at my house claiming stolen electronics were last pinged at my address.
The first time it was a laptop computer (about a month ago). The police banged on my door at 10pm regarding the laptop. Today it was two guys who came to my door asking about a lost Samsung phone.
At first I thought maybe someone is stealing these devices and then dumping them in our garbage bins on Fridays? But why would someone do that? Is this some weird scam?
The first time it happened I just shrugged it off. Now that it’s happened again, I’m concerned. I did not feel comfortable letting these 2 random dudes go through my trash bins to look for a lost phone.
Has anyone in the area experienced this?

I was wondering how other UCLA students get their clinical hours/hospital experience. I know about care extenders, but I've heard mixed reviews on it, and I want to know about other options as well (also just in case I don't get accepted). I've also heard about UCLA students getting EMT and phlebotomist licenses, but I would prefer a position where I can start working immediately so I can see if I even like working in a hospital.
For context, I am currently a sophomore, and I originally thought I wanted to do research, but now I'm starting to think that a healthcare job aligns more with my personality and values. (I really like helping people, and research can just be so isolating!) I would like to get some sort of hospital experience to see if my hypothesis is right before fully choosing to go the healthcare route. (I also don't have a car so preferably somewhere easy to get to)

So, after discovering The 1975’s music I’ve became really smitten with instrumental and ambient music. I’m really obsessed with their ambient and instrumental tracks like Having No Head, An Encounter, HNSCC, and ILIWYS (song) to name a few.
Thanks to the SATVB pre-show playlist I’ve had Gary Numans version of Trois Gymopedies on repeat and also discovered artists like Sqaurepusher and Brian Eno through the band. I’ve tried finding similar ambient tracks myself but so far, none come close to these or The 1975’s vibe of what I’m looking for.
I know it’s a long shot, but I would love Matty to recommend some ambient and instrumental tracks because I think he has a great taste in this genre.

Just a heads up cause I had to deal with this. If you buy malwarebytes on sale this black friday, it will be really hard to get out of it. Their site doesn't have a cancel/dont auto renew feature. You will be charged full price next year and will have to wait an hour to talk to a chat bot where theyll offer you 50% back while cancelling your sub. After some back and forth I got an almost full refund (they couldn't give me the additional 24 cents missing.) They have no phone support at all. Been a long time customer with MB but no more.

We are a couple and lived in China for several years before coming to Korea. Chinese people are direct. There are not many unspoken norms in everyday life. You can certainly have more freedom in China.
However, your right to act freely is also exercised by others. The rights of these two parties may conflict with each other.
You're on the subway and the person sitting next to you wants to take a picture with you. This can happen every day.
Another thing is the age range of the expat community in china. We were in 30s when we were in China, and it wasn't easy to see people younger than us. Foreigners in China tend to be older.
Daily BS is also something to consider. Neighbors can add a lot of stress to your daily life.
