I only had my foster puppy for a week before he was adopted, and now I’m so sad to come back to an empty home. At the same time, with my work schedule and the sleep deprivation and no help, it would not have been a good fit long term, at least not right now.
Just looking for advice or commiseration for coping with my own sadness not having this sweet baby any more (even though it was a very challenging experience!).

dont get me wrong, i certainly dont hate the character and she was great in frontiers. but here's the thing; eggman is one of those villains that doesnt need complexity or layers to be a good villain. so this sorta innocent, surrogate daughter figure who seems intent on being the little angel on his shoulder shying him away from some of his usual bad guy urges just doesnt work, for me at least. i mean im sick of orebot and curbot to but at least their cronies that fit the role; the stoke his ego, grovel and piss him off when they fail.
maybe if she is in a more minor role, like relegated to just being the AI that runs eggmans base, and not a free roaming hologram, or something similar. and it would just be a relationship of her nitpicking or dissuading him, similar to karen and plankton, if that makes sense.
like i said, i like her as a character and what she was written for in Frontiers but dont like the potential role she would fill going forward. genuinely curious if anyone else feel similarly?

It's kind of been a whirlwind for me. I was told the cataract in my right eye might finally need treatment and the opthalmologist has me scheduled for 3 weeks from now. I'll eventually need to feel with the other eye, but for now I guess I'll have to use a contact??
Anyway, I’m trying to decide between an EDOF lens (like TECNIS Symfony) and a monofocal lens for cataract surgery on one eye, and I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences.
Background
55yo. My uncorrected vision is -5 to -6, and I currently experience glare and halos in my cataract eye. I’m wondering if an EDOF lens might worsen these or if they’re manageable.
My main concern is understanding how vision will work at different distances with either lens type:
If I target 0 diopters (distance focus), how well will I be able to see intermediate ranges, like my car’s dashboard or a GPS screen?
If I target -1 diopters (intermediate focus), how much blur will I have at farther distances (like street signs) and closer up (like reading)? I think if rather wear glasses all the time than have to look for readers when I need them.
What about reading in bed?
Questions:
- If you chose an EDOF lens, how big of an issue were halos and glare, especially if you already had these issues pre-surgery? Did they improve with time?
- For those with a monofocal lens set for distance (0 diopters), how blurry are intermediate and near objects? Specifically, can you comfortably see things like a car dashboard or a GPS?
- If you targeted -1 diopters with a monofocal lens, how did it affect your distance vision and ability to see small details closer up?
- Has anyone tried monovision (e.g., correcting one eye for distance and the other for near)? How well did it work for you? Were there issues with depth perception or adjustment?
