I hope this is the right place for this type of question. Basically, I know that the hobby supports the lore, and the lore supports the hobby. So for an example of what I'm asking:
-around 2017/18, Guilliman comes back,and they release the model. Not too long after that, they released the Dark Impurem novels. A year after he comes back, they release Mortarion's model, and wouldn't you know it, the two of them fight and encounter each other in the second/third books.
So, from that, does it stand to reason we won't get any books featuring Mortarion as a center figure until they rerelease the next model in the 40k era? That basically when one of the huge figures come out, like a primarch, they get one big story, then put on the shelf?
I know phrasing it like that isn't quite fare. Cawl for example is used a lot, but I don't think we've seen Guilliman really since Godblight.
Likewise, the Lion and and Angron came out and fought in the Lion's books.
So that's how it will probably go for a while? I know Fulgrim is speculated to be the next release, so I'm sure we're going to have a big lore moment for him.
And saying this, I also realize there is a huge chunk of the fanbase that wants exactly this. 40k is a setting, not a story, and the primarchs coming back kind of make it a single narrative, and that wonderful characters like Calgar or Vulkan He'Stan need love and stories too. I basically am just wondering the symbiotic relationship between the physical world hobby, and the lore, and which side of the ebb and flow we're on right now. Hope this wasn't a weird rant, and had a cohesive thought lol. Thanks!

Hello, I’m 30m and my ex is 25f about to turn 26. We had been together two years and some months. 1 year and 3 months as a couple. So this is our story.
We are both Spanish speaking but from different countries. We met back in the Netherlands and we become friends with benefits. Because neither of us wanted a relationship. We met 7 months after each of us broke up our old relationships. Hers was a 5 year relationship that ended badly with her old ex cheating on her. And mine was a separation I did while leaving Australia.
For almost 11 months we were comfortable with the friends with benefits relationship. We were living in this little town and we became the best of friends. We developed feelings and we decided to go to the next level. So we became BF &GF. That was not easy because she has some traumas from previous relationships as well as family traumas. She was a bit scared of open up again for all the bad experiences she had. But we manage to work on it and she decided to give it a try. At first everything was amazing.
We travel the world for 8 months and then we came back to her city in Spain. We got an apartment we had our jobs everything was working up great. Not much of fighting or anything really it was a sweet life we had.
At the end September she told me that she was feeling that her libido kind of drop, we spoke about it and together we were going to work it out. After 2 weeks we had a fight about something her father said about me. And really was not a big deal. But in that moment I was feeling that her family didn’t really accepted me. At least some members of the family. So I just lost it and say a lot of mean stuff about her dad. I didn’t really meant it. But when I get angry I just try to defend my self attacking the other.
Well long story short, after couple of days thinking it she wanted to end things between us. She said that the fight was something she can’t forgive. But that I was the best boyfriend and the best person she ever met. And that maybe one day we could meet again. At first I try to convince her but seeing how firm she was about it I just accepted it and told her I was gonna buy a ticket back to my country. She didn’t look happy about it but she didn’t stop me to do it. I had 8 more days in Spain and I was leaving. We spoke and I told her that I didn’t want to spend my last days alone in the apartment while she goes to her father’s house. So she stayed with me until I left.
The strange thing is that in those 8 days we were great between each other. A lot of hugs, kissing and time spent together. I was sleeping in the bed and she in the sofa and that lasted just the first night. She came to sleep with me and cuddle every night after(no sex). I never told her to move in to the bed. So I was receiving mixed signals.
On my last day I wanted to leave but leave in my terms. So I asked her to speak with her big brother and her father. Because I didn’t wanted to leave through the back door. I spoke with them and we ended up hugging saying they were sorry for how they acted. The brother even cried and said he was sorry for judging me. After this experience my ex was happy, exited she was hugging me in the street, kissing my arm and saying how great this was. (I forgot to say that she never said to anyone what was the fight about it or what I said because in her words “I don’t want them to hate you”) that night she kissed me and kind of felt really bad. Next day I left to the airport she took me there and I left.
I started no contact the moment I landed. I was not sending her nothing, I was not posting on Instagram or anything. After 9 days she texted me to ask how I was. I didn’t reply and after 15 minutes she video called me. I didn’t reply. It was after some time thinking that I just reply with yeah I’m good what about you? And she reply and I never answered back we didn’t spoke about the call or anything.
1 week after my therapist convinced me into at least explain my self and see how she was. I texted her and we spoke she said she was feeling lonely, that everything now is shit, and that she doesn’t know why she feels like that. She said that she is trying to keep her mind busy just to not think about us. And everything that is wrong with her life now. (She video called me because she had a really bad moment and she called me as I was always the one who helped her while feeling bad)
5 days later she sent me a picture of the teddy i gave her and that she used to always cuddle when i was not in bed with her to sleep. This really messed my mind and I asked her what she thinks about everything that happened and she said that even if she misses me and is struggling a lot it’s the right thing to do. She also said that the problem with the relationship was that she lost the attraction. And that that also made her emotions change. I asked her if she thought she was good for me and she said no. I felt devastated I thought she might had been giving some thought about everything. So right there I said to my self not to text or give her anything. Maybe that way she will miss me or maybe she will built some attraction for me again.
3 days after she sent me a video through Instagram about something we used to do all the time back home. Kind of our way to say I love you. I didn’t reply.
After 10 days of no contact once again she texted me to check on me and to chat about it. And I answered. She came to say that her therapist is not good anymore because she is not really working on the things that she needs. As “why I feel like I feel” and “why I do everything my way” and that she wanted to change therapist. She spoke about her dad and her issues with him. So now I’m kind of lost on how she feels about all this.
Objectively hasn’t been a lot of time for her to change her mind or anything. We had been broken up just 5 weeks. And really apart 1 month.
What do you all think? It’s a messy story. But I still think she has some feelings for me.
