Hi everyone. I'm wondering if anyone has high level advice about collecting shipwreck coins. I'm currently on vacation in St Thomas and stumbled into a Pirate museum that has a section filled with graded and ungraded shipwreck coins that caught my attention. I'm considering buying one as a souvenir from my trip.
A little background about myself. I have quite a bit of experience collecting sports cards so i understand the process of collecting high value items, but understand my knowledge does not necessarily translate to coin collecting, especially something like shipwreck coins.
I've checked Google and haven't had much luck finding solid advice on this specific niche of coin collecting. I guess what I'm asking is does anyone out there have a few quick pointers that I can use before I jump in the deep end and potentially buy something that isn't worth it from both a monetary perspective and a collecting perspective?

Currently working through the first draft, looking for beta-readers to sound out the storty and characters. Willing to do critique swaps as have had some success with these in the past, finding people who you can bounce stuff off of as and when you get to it is very beneficial (looking for more of these if you're interested).
I wouldn't call it a "vampire story", it's more a story with vampires, including a couple of different takes on the usual tropes and cliches. Vampires are forced to live in a walled off part of the city - a reward for services long since forgotten. Tensions are once again at boiling point between the two factions, with elements on both sides prepared to take up the sword in order to right the wrongs of their intertwined pasts. One man, the single human captain of the vampire guard, struggles to keep the peace while facing derision from everywhere he turns. If he can't prevent the coming storm, it's going to be a bloodbath.

Okay so quick back story. My mom and I donāt really get along. I live with her and we put on a good front towards eachother but underneath that we have a shitty relationship. Mostly because she ignored all of my mental health issues as a child/teen and would constantly tell me and my siblings she hated us growing up. Everything was an inconvenience for her.
But Iām a little nervous because recently sheās been acting very strange. Iām Italian on my dadās side of the family only. I go to my nonnas every Sunday and have since I was a kid. I have many cousins that I hangout with. I love my family. In the past few months my mom will pretend she has no idea my siblings and I go to my nonnas on Sundays. When Iām leaving sheās like āwhere are you going??ā And acts dumbfounded or like we are betraying her in some type of way. I still go. Within the last couple weeks she started wearing all gold jewelry (typical in Italian families) when she has worn silver my entire life. I thought it was strange but didnāt think too much into it until tonight.
So tonight I come home from my nonnas because itās Sunday and my mom is at the kitchen table with her boyfriend, my aunt, and my uncle EATING PASTA. I walk in and she looks at me and goes āyou missed Sunday dinnerā and Iām like āyou never told me you were making dinner today or that you wanted me to be here and you know I go to nonnas every Sunday.ā And my aunt chimes in and goes āyeah well you can miss your nonnas to eat with us on Sundays tooā and my mom goes āyeah everyone is available on Sundays so weāre having Sunday dinnerā but not everyone is available because as we know my siblings and I go to my NONNNNNNAAAASSSS. So I just looked at my mom and go āoh yeah is that why youāre doing it on Sundays?ā
What kind of weirdo behavior is this? Am I imagining things or thinking about it too deep?
