My boyfriend [25M] and I [21F] have been dating for almost a year and I have just always had mixed feelings about our sex life. To start, I am a pretty shy and submissive person, in day-to-day life and in the bedroom, and he is a very chill, easy-going kind of guy— not dominant or commanding or anything— which makes sex super difficult because I don’t like to be in charge, it just is always so awkward and uncomfortable. I have tried talking to him about this before and he didn’t really seem to understand my problem. Besides that, he also just does not seem interested in foreplay or reciprocation of anything. There is never any warm up, very little touches or kisses, he just expects me to be ready when he is. Sometimes I force myself to just go along with it, but I end up feeling really ugly and humiliated because I just am not wet enough and it just hurts and all I can think about during it is that he must think I am so old or unattractive or something because I am so dry when he tries to put it in. I started secretly keeping lube in my purse and will quickly run to the bathroom before we have sex just to spare me from the embarrassment. And when we have sex, it is like all he is focused on is his own pleasure. I also tried to tell him my issues about it and he just told me to tell him what I want while we are having sex and to take control— but, I am a bottom and a huge people-pleaser— so that is just completely out of the question. I physically cannot bring myself to, I just psych myself out of it. I don’t want to have to ask him to. I want him to want to make me feel good, but he just doesn’t really seem to care. I make little jokes about it and whatnot, but he just doesn’t seem to pick up on them or anything. We also can never seem to get on a good rhythm, like, I will be on top and suddenly he starts moving and it just throws everything off, or I just can’t keep up my pace or whatever it may be— so we stop every like 2 minutes. It doesn’t help that he also doesn’t say anything during sex either. I will try and talk to him sometimes, like asking him if he’s okay and whatever and he just says he’s fine and that’s it. He also seems to only really want rough sex. Always reverse cowgirl or doggy, doesn’t really like missionary or regular cowgirl (which are the only positions I know how to finish in). It is always just so harsh and not romantic or sweet. While we are having sex, also just am never in the right headspace and all I can think about is how terribly it’s going or how ugly I must look or something— it’s a whole spiral of bad. We also don’t cuddle after or do any of that oxytocin bonding stuff, which is making it so much worse. It just makes me feel so used and the entire thing so impersonal— like he could just replace me with any girl and get the exact same experience and pleasure from it. It’s utterly disheartening. This really sucks because our life together outside of sex is pretty good. We’ve had some issues, but he is the perfect boyfriend otherwise. It just seems like we’re so incompatible with sex and I don’t know what to do. I feel so guilty because I know how embarrassing it is for a guy to be told that they’re making sex bad for their girl. I have tried to talk to him about a lot of this and how sex went with his other past relationships and he told me that all his previous partners always just told him what they wanted and he was able to make them feel good all the time. Why am I the only one that seems to just not be able to have good harmony with him about it then? Ugh.

Hello!
I’m currently a senior majoring in Communications, and I’m interested in pursuing a career in the music or media industry (sports included). My main focus is Marketing, and I recently applied to a mentorship program that pairs participants with professionals in the industry. (I’m not sure if I’ll be accepted, though!)
During my two years in college (i went to a cc and then transferred to a big sec school), I feel like I haven’t acquired many skills that would help me land a decent job after graduation. I do have an online portfolio, but I’m not really proud of it.
Since I’m graduating next year, I’m looking for specific actions I can take—beyond improving my portfolio—that would increase my chances of getting a job. I don’t have much experience yet, which is why I’m planning to get a campus job soon.
I’m also curious about more niche roles in the industry outside of Marketing. Are there any specialized skills I could learn that would help me land a good-paying job? While my main goal is to work in something I’m passionate about, I’d really appreciate any advice on other ways to make money in these industries. (Maybe something finance (or tech) - music industry related since i also like finances)
