Thanks for your help. I had a cleaning/checkup 10 days ago.
They said everything was great except for a filling I had this summer would need to be replaced because there’s a bump or something that’s shredding my floss. I brought this up before but was told it was fine, the hygienists tool got stuck there so she had the dentist take a look and now they agree that it’s not fine and needs to be fixed.
Last night I was flossing the back of my back less than 2 years old crowned molar and I smelled the floss and it reeks like feces. It’s disgusting. I brushed it, still smells. Used listerine, still smells. I told the dentist previously that I can feel the margin with the floss, like a tiny indent, but they said it looked good to them so I thought it was.
Clearly it wasn’t.
I don’t trust this dental office anymore and am going to call around tomorrow to have someone else look at it but what do I do in the meantime?
It smells so bad. Well, my finger smells if I rub it along the back of the tooth and I assume my breath probably reeks like it. It’s very embarrassing- and it’s Thanksgiving week!
Is there anything I can do to knock the odor down until I can have the problem fixed? Listerine and brushing does nothing.

2024.11.25 00:41 TPWilder What assumptions do you disagree with in this series?
I've been rereading the series (up to the Golden Princess, got to the end of that one the first time around and decided I was skipping yet another sword quest) and when I read this series, there's just some things I don't agree with in the books. I'll list mine, and you're welcome to poke my assumptions or join in.
- While I agree the East Coast city strip, especially the DC/Philidelphia/NYC/Boston area would be a death zone, I've always disagreed with the "everyone east of the Mississippi died and all that is left are barely verbal semi-cannibals" idea. If there are no cars and very few horses, yes everything within a hundred miles of a major city will be eaten but... that leaves a LOT of land with small towns and farms. I've lived in places in New York state that are hundreds of miles from NYC and there are farms and woods and people who hunt deer with bows. Likewise in Ohio, PA and southern NY state, there's a lot of Amish and Mennonite communities and yes they're non violent and unlikely to survive without accepting outsiders but they also aren't always within that one hundred miles of a city. Likewise, a lot of the southeastern states have a lot of farm land thats pretty good and not near the coastal cities. For the sake of the story I get not needing hundreds of tinpot wacky communities but I just don't believe there would be nothing but savages who still actively hunt fellow humans but have no skills and still can't figure out how to make a weapon or tan a skin.
- I don't think the conversion to Wicca was plausible and I think there would have been far more problems with other communities than were ever discussed or suggested.
- Likewise the massive conversion to Catholicism in the PPA. I get that this might have been a bee in Norman's bonnet as a "period" issue but if he genuinely studied the medieval time frame he'd know that the Church was far more in control than any monarchy. Even if he considered himself in control of "his" church, that was always going to blow back as the Church gained more power. Also, honestly, I don't think the PNW is very Catholic, once you're outside of the cities, its actually pretty rightwing evangelical.
- Naming conventions abruptly changing with no one ever once finding it odd. People who were middle class Americans abruptly drop their regular names in the face of an apocalypse for their SCA/Gaelic/Tolkein handles? And no one is a Sir John or Lady Emily, its Oiger, Odard, Orlaith, Morfind, Edain, Aoife, and Faramir?
- Fashion conventions also radically change? I sort of understand the kilts, although I genuinely think it was unlikely to take off in a big way, but we know cottehardies are a pain in the ass to wear and make and we decide thats where we're going? No one prefers the convivence of trousers or shorts or dare I say it, casual american wear? Everyone reverts to hose and curly shoes with bells and there's no protests or anything? Folks, baseball hats would still be around. So would the basic convenience of not wearing dresses
- The Dunedain Rangers. Now I will easily concede while I have read the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Hobbit, I never liked the series that much and find Astrid irritating and unlikely in personality to be someone that builds a core society in the new world. But really, there's no way small agricultural societies could afford to lose young healthy members to a band of kids in the woods who play at living out a fantasy novel. To use an example from the books, why would Rueban, adopted by the second in command of the Bearkillers and an A-lister at 19 or 20 even have time to simply run off into the woods? Doesn't he as an A-lister get a strategic hamlet to control? Aren't the ones joining from the Mackenzies abandoning family farms and communities that need them? In a rural farming community with no powered tools, you actually need your 14-18 year olds to bring in the harvest. And everyone is fully fluent in Sindarin, and Sign.

My LO will be 3 months next week and lately, his daytime naps haven’t lasted more than 30 minutes to an hour. He usually sleeps from around 9/9:30 at night until 2 and then 2 until 6/7. Just wondering if anyone else’s 3 month old is also having super short daytime naps?

I think about this a lot. When I was 12 I had an experience from what I now remember as a dream but I just remember seeing my grandmother again after she died....this happened a lot throughout the years actually so maybe it's really her popping up so I don't forget her. But seriously there's been multiple dreams or encounters with her where it's like she never even died. I even get to casually speak to her. I have no mental health issues by the way, I'm so serious haha

 | I went to my father’s house and he was all excited to show me his lemon trees. He’s had them outside for a few months and moved them indoors 2.5 weeks ago as the temperature is dropping. As soon as I looked with it, I asked what it has been sprayed with because the leaves appeared wet. As I got closer, I realized the leaves were sticky (nectar maybe)? Turning the plant revealed more damage and LOTS of pests. I figured spider mites or aphids, but I’m not well versed in this. I took the plant outside, wiped the entire thing down with wet paper towels and removed most of them (I couldn’t see anymore but with how many there were, I don’t believe I got all of them). I can’t keep the plant outside as it gets too cold at night. What are these pests? How do I get rid of them? This plant was moved away from all other plants but it was previously surrounded by other lemon trees and succulents so all of them will have to be treated. 2024.11.25 00:41 NoRutabaga3205 Game gets good at Level 40
Got bored of destiny 2 due to lack of content as I'm not a raid player so wanted something new.
Tried Warframe but found it to be extremely grindy and mind numbingly chaotic. Wasn't a fan of how the combat flows in it.
Then I tried Division 2. Honestly, I get it why they do that since it's a tutorial but the early parts of the game are very boring as they force you to play story mode with limited content.
Once I bit level 40, wow the game got so good. I love doing challenging content and combat flow is so satisfying. Especially as you start getting better loot and get into the whole build crafting stuff. Love the feel of how satisfying and tactical the combat is.
Community is really nice too. Some players shared of bunch of high level look with a low ranked player like me.
Overall a pretty good experience and looking forward to it. Kinds surprised this game doesn't have a bigger following like Destiny and warframe

2024.11.25 00:41 TheDivine_MissN I made my bed for the first time in months.
I have a King size mattress that was delivered by mistake. King size sheets are expensive and I had so many Queen sheets that I was using flat sheets on my bed instead of a fitted sheet. I bit the bullet and bought a new king sheet set. My mattress cover needed washing and I added it to my laundry order which was dropped off today. I went ahead and not only put the mattress cover on but I also put on sheets and my comforter.
Really proud of this task which I’d been putting off for so long.
