I'm not a Christian, but some video essays on Angelology and Demonology have made me interested in reading scripture to better understand the greater context around these topics.
Wikipedia sort of accidentally promotes the NIV on their page on Biblical Canon, so that's where I checked first. It feels too casual and direct for me. Given that, it seems like my best options are between the NKJV, NRSV, and NASB.
I understand that there's probably not a correct answer here, but opinions would be greatly appreciated.

It’s been one of those times when I can’t pretend to like being solitary as well as I usually do. I don‘t have any real life friends. And never have had any. (I don‘t mean this hyperbolically, I was homeschooled.) It always hits me the hardest this time of year.
I’ll try my best to describe some interests I have so you can determine if you’d like to talk with me.
I’m 21. I’m an artist and I also love to write, I love the arts and human creativity in general. My favorite genres are fantasy. I like video games too, but I don’t play those as much as I used to anymore.
I think I’m a curious person by nature so I’m perfectly fine with talking to you even if our interests don’t align! I like learning new things.
I’m not too sure how to word this but I’m not the most intelligent person in the world and I’m well aware of it. I just thought I’d mention it because I’ve gotten the impression from others that it’s an issue. But because it’s an insecurity of mine I do try very hard to understand!
If we get along and we both think we could be friends then I’m okay with exchanging discords and talking there! On that note, I’m like voice chats too since it makes me feel less alone, but you don’t have to do that and I’m also shy so i’m not interested in voice chatting unless I feel like we could be friends.
I only ask that the people messaging me are adults (20 or older, I just can’t see myself being friends with anyone younger than 20.)
Please note that you don’t have to continue talking with me if you don’t feel like it! I only want to talk to people who genuinely want to have a conversation with me, not because they feel like they have to. There’s no hard feelings involved; sometimes people just don’t click and I understand that.
