2024.11.25 01:30 BlackPearlDragoon I’m in charge of desserts for thanksgiving. Please help me understand pie crusts. When do I blind bake? When do I freeze? Does the filling matter? Please help me.
I’m doing one pumpkin pie, one pecan, one apple. I’ve watched about a million videos on different recipes. Some say you have to freeze your pie crust in the pan before you put them in the oven, some say you have to blind bake, some say to let them thaw. I don’t understand when to do these things or why. Aside from no-bake fillings, does the filling determine when to do what? All of the crust recipes are very similar. Some even say “use your favorite crust recipe!”
I followed Preppy Kitchen’s recipe to make some crusts. They are currently in balls in plastic wrap in my fridge. Apple will have a top crust. Which do I freeze? Which do I blind bake?

 | Maybe it's because I was first introduced to their newer stuff, but I stand alone among my friends (and most people seemingly) in preferring post-2000 Maiden to their "classic" era. Don't get me wrong, I adore their 80s albums. But the post-2000 stuff to me is just musically much more interesting, complex, and emotionally resonant. It carries a maturity and reflectiveness that comes with age, and the general feel of most of the albums is just much more "epic" than their earlier work. 2024.11.25 01:30 BobCET What would you rig on this rod?
My dad gave me his old casting rod. It's a 5'-6" medium daiwa rod, 1/4 to 3/4oz, with a shimano b100 mag reel. I live in the southeast US with mostly largemouth bass, catfish, and bluegills. I was just curious to get a feel of what lure to rig with it. Thanks

I did enjoy this sub, but I don't care to pay attention to American politics anymore. I believe there is little to learn beyond what not to do.
Elon promised Americans pain and Trump promised non Americans pain. Somehow many Americans imagined those things did not include them.
I'd rather focus on the positive stuff at home. But that isn't very popular here.
It was nice to see that some Americans still have hope, even if I have the privelege of being able to just pay attention to something else because I don't live in the US.

Before I begin, I know nothing is going to change by posting here on Reddit. But I certainly see a lot of responsible citizens here and your comments are entertaining and enlightening. Ultimately they are soul satisfying.
I know there have been countless posts on this topic But we still refuse to change. This is a PAN India issue but the scale is much higher in Pune. People wear 100 different things on their faces and heads while on 2 wheels but refuse to wear helmets.
I have seen everything ranging from hats to masks to beanies to balaclava.
Recently a Goggle mask has been launched and people wearing them look as if they are Going to rob a bank.
There is no point in blaming the authorities as safety has to come from within and given what people wear on their faces, it is impossible to ID them. The less I talk about non standard number plates, the better.
We Indians have an obsession with covers right from our TV remotes to fridges, washing machines, mobile phones etc., I even saw a recent ad for fan blade covers.
We even cover our bikes and cars. Why don't we cover something as invaluable as our heads ? It takes only one incident to flip anyone's lives upside down.

hey guys looking to see what you think of a trip that 4 friends and I are planning for May 2025. Going to be 15 days with travel days as end caps. We plan to rent a car when leaving London and drive the rest of the trip.
Fly in overnight and will get into London around 7 am.
2 days London
2 days Bath with a stop at Oxford on the way coming from London.
2 days York
2 days at a place on the coast between York and Edinburgh. Tbd but figured we would try and find a small place on the coast with a pub nearby. Maybe Whitby or near Lindesfarne.
4 days Edinburgh
1 day Stirling
1 day Glasgow. Ending here due to plans to attend the Lumineers concert.
Fly home
A quick google directions tells me its around 12-13 hrs of driving over the course of 2 weeks so figured that wasnt too bad. We don't have concrete day plans or anything like that planned yet but I'm concerned that the trip will be too busy.

First year as an associate at civil litigation firm. I’m expected to work 9 hours a day and bill approximately 7 hours a day.
This is my first year as an associate and I have struggled with meeting my 1700 hr billing expectations, and it’s not due to lack of work but more so due to my lack of diligence and proper keeping by me.
I have a toddler and a 11 month baby, and am struggling with balancing role as a father and husband and with work.
Any tips with balancing work and family life.
My wife questions why i have to work always on the weekend, and I feel compelled to help her out with the kids.
My mother in law was over today and questioned me “ You’re working again?!”
