I’m having a conundrum over what guitar I want to get. It’s a good problem to have! But I’m hoping to get some additional input.
I’ve got a classical guitar. That’s all I have, so it’s what I play no matter what style of music I’m playing, although I’ve mostly stuck to fingerpicking. I’m finally looking into getting a steel string to suit branching out into flat picking and Irish music specifically. I’m serious and good enough at this point to be contemplating a decent investment (probably up to about $1k) as opposed to dropping $100 on any old thing to get by.
I stumbled across a hole in the wall guitar shop a few days ago and talked at some length with the guy who runs it to get more opinions. I really liked him and the shop and would love to support them. They don’t have a lot of stock because they mostly sell on consignment and their main gig is repairs. They had a very well-kept, solid top acoustic electric Takamine (Chinese made, not Japanese though) being sold for $350 including a hard case.
A few days later I was at a different local music store where I take lessons and got to play a bunch of new Martins and Taylor’s which are on discount right now for the holidays. I pretty much narrowed it down to liking the Martin GPC 11E, which is being sold with the gig bag for like $800 I think. The guy who was helping me there was nice enough but 100% there for the sale. I get that, it’s his job, but definitely didn’t feel as great as talking to the guy at the other store who treated me as a fellow musician as opposed to simply a customer.
I’d much rather support the shop selling the Takamine, and know that Takamines can be very good guitars, but it seems like more of a gamble than going with the Martin. I really wish I could play the two guitars side by side but cannot. I’m sorry I don’t have more info on the Takamine to provide. What are things I should be thinking about as I make this decision? Is there a clear cut winner? Is it likely that the Takamine will improve with time and playing the way people say Martins and Taylor’s will or do we not know enough to say?

I studied and now work away from my hometown. As much as I enjoy the freedom of cooking whatever meals that I am in the mood of atm, I often struggle with the leftovers. Although the easier way is to feed it to dustbin (which I have been guilty of, in the past), I try to add those in my next meal. As someone who doesn't like to eat the same dish twice in a row, I figure out a new way to add them in my recipe. - You take 2 eggs, chopped onion, garlic, green chillies (I can only tolerate one), salt and turmeric, and mix it all together in a bowl. Keep it to the side. - Then heat your favourite pan, add oil, cumin seeds and then the left overs. Remember your curry/pulses should be reheated completely before you add the egg mixture. - Once all the thing meet eachother in the pan, in the low flame let them cook together for sometime. If you are like me and like scrambled, twist your spatula and mix it up. If you like omelette texture, let it be. And don't forget to cook the other side. - Garnish with coriander, because dhaniya makes everything badiya 🤌. And tada, you have a new and tasty dish. You can eat it or tiffin up and brag to your friends. How do you eat your leftovers?

It took me 70 deaths to do this right, so here are my tips.
1) only attempt in daylight with good visibility of pathways, avoiding the deep water that slows you down. Reload an earlier save and wait if you have to.
2) when the monster roars, sprint. This not only conserves your energy a bit but also helps avoid its pounces.
3) don't waste ammo on it - pointless as it's nearly indestructible.
4) don't start by sprinting. Sprint only when it first roars at you / attacks. Stagger your sprinting.
5) when you make it to the shack and the emission starts, keep going straight through the shack and sprint sprint sprint across the field to the cellar
Note: I also downloaded a nexus mod that uses less sprinting energy up. This is an absolute must imo.
Best of luck - this nearly made me quit a game I adore, despite its flaws / issues.

My friend is being blackmailed and we don’t who this person is or how they got into her iCloud. They found explicit photos of her and now is sending it to everyone from her iCloud storage. We deleted her iCloud but somehow they made another one and still has her contacts and are sending it to people who shouldn’t see it. They even sent an address to her that is super close to where her people live. We had to freeze her bank accounts bc they gained access to that as well. She’s too scared to get the cops involved. Advice or can someone help us found out who this person is? The numbers they are texting her from is from bandwidth.com or something like that and the other is Telnyx.com I’ve never heard of either.

I'm here in Atlanta. I've probably had 2-3 auditions from my agency this year. White male late 30s average build. It's just kind of depressing. I feel like I'm missing out, I had an audition (from a referral) for Atlanta models and talent earlier this year but they said they weren't taking on new talent right now. Does anyone else get really bad muscle cramps from their inhaler? I’m on symbicort and ever since I started it I have such bad cramps in my legs every night and then the next day I can hardly walk. It’s so painful. My doctor suggested taking a magnesium supplement and making sure I’m well hydrated which I’ve been doing but I haven’t noticed any change. I’m really at the point of not wanting to take the symbicort anymore even though it works well for my asthma.

Um die lange Rede zu umschiffen und zum kurzen Sinn zu kommen: ich prokrastiniere schon seit langer Zeit die Suche nach einem Therapieplatz, weil der Prozess für Leute wie mich, die sowieso keine kognitive Energie dafür aufbringen können, sowieso schon nach einem Albtraum klingt. Zig Nummern anrufen, sich sagen lassen, dass sowieso keine Neupatienten aufgenommen werden, sich obskure Telefonsprechzeiten merken, Nachweise erfolgloser Kontaktaufnahme für die Kostenübernahme bei Privatpraxen durch die GKV behalten... das ist alles zu viel für meine kraftlose Seele. Mit dem Terminservice der kassenärztlichen Vereinigung hab ichs hin und wieder mal versucht und bin nur bei einigen Therapeuten gelandet, die mich nach ein paar Sitzungen abgegeben haben, da sie mir von meiner Persönlichkeit her nicht helfen konnten.
Da muss es doch einen Weg oder eine Anlaufstelle geben, die für psychisch Entmutigte den organisatorischen Kram bis zum dauerhaften Therapieverhältnis übernimmt, oder? Leider bin ich dauerhaft am Rande der Pleite, bezahlen könnt ich das also auch nicht...
Ich habe gerade mal eine gute Freundin, mit der ich über psychische Gesundheit offen genug hierfür reden kann, aber sie hat selbst viel dollere mentale Probleme und ich würde ihr diesen ehrenamtlichen Sekretärinnenjob für mich in ihrem Zustand auf keinen Fall aufbürden wollen. Und selbst wenn ja, irgendwie müsste ich Therapiebesuche an meinen Eltern vorbeischmuggeln (bin zwar volljährig, kann aber vor meiner Mutter nichts verbergen und bin ihr gegenüber ein extrem schlechter Lügner).
Ich weiß auch, dass das in den letzten Jahren ein absoluter Trend geworden ist, aber vielleicht wäre eine ADHS-Diagnose auch angebracht...? Ich schwöre, ich hab das nicht von TikTok und prokrastiniere die Suche danach schon seit 2018, also bevor das "cool" geworden ist. Der Weg zur Diagnose, zwischen Hunderten von Telefonanrufen und drei- bis vierjährigen Wartelisten, entmutigt mich aber viel zu sehr. Einmal auf Google suchen und sofort setzt wieder die mentale Überforderung ein.
Ehrlich gesagt habe ich keinen Plan, wieso ich das hier noch poste - ich habe diese oder eine ähnliche Frage schon häufiger auf reddit gestellt, und aus den klugen und liebevollen Antworten habe ich nie etwas gemacht, und nichts hat sich geändert, und die Jahre ziehen in einem Limbo der Untätigkeit dahin... aber vielleicht hat jemand trotzdem einen schlauen Tipp. Danke.
