TL:DR - The rare version of both Spellcaster gloves are exactly the same. There's no added benefit, or reduced penalty of negative modifier. The same thing with the Conversion variant of Mask of Madness. If the Rare variant makes me take MORE damage and gives no added benefit, what's the point??? And on that note, why does the Rage variant double the penalty AND the boon? That item is a 'gift & curse', a double edged sword, so it makes sense that upgrading it increases the penalty and the benefit, but why is it only that variant that gets the increased benefit when its counterpart only increases the penalty?
Long for context, but you can ignore this:
I'm at absolute end-game where I'm just trying to do nutty builds, experiment with off-meta stuff, and just try to find fun/whacky stuff to keep me interested.
Then I stumbled onto Spellcaster Gloves, which I never messed with.
Multitasking gives -10% attack speed per active ability. So the more abilities I have, the slower everything casts. However, when I'm not using my weapon, I get 100% dmg * 1.33 per active ability. So with 6 abilities going I get 100%*1.33(6), if I'm not auto-attacking. But I get -60% attack speed (super rough when you're running Apocryphal Curse). It feels like it's encouraging you to go 3-6 spells to maximize damage; so you'd expect that upgrading it to rare would diminish the penalty, or at the very least boost the benefit.
The Hyperfocus version of these gloves is 400% * .66 per active ability; so you get penalized the more abilities you have going, but your attack speed isn't penalized. It feels like it encourages a 1 to 2 spell build - otherwise you could just run multistrike or attack speed gloves and, depending on the spells you use, output the same increase in damage as you would by running these gloves because now I'm back to using my main weapon as a damage source. So you'd expect the rare version of these to lower the damage penalty, or .. idk, buff your global attack speed.
Nope. Nope nope nope. They are the same. Trialed a 6-spell run on T22 and when I got slapped with -60% attack speed, amped by Apocryphal Curse, it was miserable. Didn't matter that my spells were hitting for +500-something more percent, they were barely casting. So again, what is the point of even adding them to the game?

I have a dear friend who is in hospice. Has been for some time. Today his eyes - which were always a bright blue - are a gray color. I looked it up and found the eyes don't actually change color - they may just get a milky haze which looks as if they've changed color. My question for anyone experienced in hospice - can this milkiness give some type of time he has left? Or is this just one of the many many signs of death and happens "whenever"?

I recently accepted a mostly telework job. I don’t feel great about telework considering the current climate aka DOGE, however, I’m sure they would just bring me in the office worst case scenario and that would not be the end of the world. I also don’t necessarily love the new position.
I also have a promotional job opportunity, and another interview for face to face, clinical positions, both promotions.
In the current climate, considering they’ll probably do a hiring freeze by January 20, would it even be worth pursuing another position? I would hate to accept an offer tell my supervisor, and then just have that position be frozen for a prolonged period and have to tell my supervisor. I’ve seen on here that the last hiring freeze they canceled some positions that were not actually in orientation already.
So would anybody tempt the job market right now with the slow transfer process? Or maybe it could be all completed in time?

Help me out here, folks. So, I'm looking at finally switching from Verizon to somewhere cheaper. Currently, I'm on a 3-line family plan with Verizon which is grandfathered in as the plan no longer exists. We're very low usage: 4 lines, 4 gigs of shared data, $156 USD a month. One of those lines is a landline which we might get rid of. Verizon's network is very very good in my area so I was looking for Verizon MVNOs when I stumbled on US Mobile. Imagine my shock when I see US mobile can give me 3 lines, 5 gigs of shared data, for $31 USD a month. Total. Taxes and fees included. That's roughly a fifth of what I'm currently paying. There has to be a catch here, right? Hidden fees, taxes, *something* I'm missing? I can't have been massively overpaying by that much for so long, can I? The price is so much lower that I just can't believe it.
So, please, tell me: is this for real? I've been with verizon since I had a phone at all. Can I really get Verizon's network coverage at a literal fraction of what I'm paying now?

So after weeks of troubleshooting a problem whereby when I logged into my office computer (w11 domain joined Desktop), whenever I was required to provide MFA it would ask for a USB device.
After considerable troubleshooting, I opened a case with MS support.
They did some testing and told me that in order to use Passkeys stored in my MS Authenticator app, the desktop requires Bluetooth. They can't tell me why.
I also can't understand why, when I login from my desktop at home, to my desktop at the office, via RDP, Passkey MFA works fine to my mobile phone, but logged in locally I am requested for a USB device.
Is there someone here who can explain to me the role of Bluetooth in passkey via MS Authenticator, when number matching doesn't require it? Is there a specific 'type' of bluetooth device that is required? Do I need to ensure the device is 'paired' to the desktop via Bluetooth first? How is this even a requirement and how do enterprises make this work? Surely they aren't all using notebooks now or adding Bluetooth to their desktops?
I am struggling to understand the role of Bluetooth in the transaction.

Hi all. We just decided (today) to do a cruise March 2025. Never took a cruise before. Just two of us traveling. I have not booked the cruise yet.
The only cruise that fits our dates and travel restrictions (medical-can't fly) is the MSC Meraviglia in early March. Looking for pointers for cabin, meals, packages, etc.
Originally, thought inside cabin. We are Econo type travelers. I saw room sizes and see there are smaller and larger inside rooms on this ship. The larger room cost less than a seaview... But essentially an obstructed sea view is within budget. On this cruise will I miss not having a window or a balcony? Are we being too cheap?
I see they are running a Black Friday Special on drinks and Wi-Fi. Will this special resurface again over the next month or so, or do I book the cruise asap? Is it really a special?
Is it best to book from MSC directly, a travel agent, or website for cheap cruises, red tag, etc?
I have so many more questions, but will stop to keep this from getting longer.
