Recent research has pushed the “safe” withdrawal rate closer to 5 percent. But Bengen identifies eight key factors that affect how much you can withdraw, including how long you’ll be retired and whether you’re drawing from taxable or tax-deferred accounts.
For early retirees planning for 50-60 years, Bengen says the safe withdrawal rate asymptotically approaches 4.2 percent — meaning even with an infinite time horizon, it won’t drop below that. He thinks the common advice to use 3 percent for early retirement is unnecessarily conservative.

Hi! I have only had my 2020 Buick Encore for just over a year now, but my tires are getting to the point where it's time to replace. I live in the Midwest and winter is right around the corner. My tires aren't damaged at all, just getting low on tread which isnt great for the snow and slush. I'm very new to owning a car, and just wanted to get an opinion on what to look for when buying new tires. I'm not looking for winter tires, just all seasons that will get the job done. I also don't wanna skimp out and get the cheapest option but I don't want to get ridiculously expensive. My vehicle calls for 215/55r18's and I already know going into this that due to my 18 inch rims, tires are gonna be at least $100+ per tire if I want decent ones. I don't do a ton of driving. I work 2 miles from where I live and I don't travel much further that maybe 45 miles out of town maybe once a month. I will occasionally road trip across states though but that is very rare.
I work at Walmart and intend to use my 25% off holiday discount to help buy tires. I will not have them installed by us though because my automotive sucks 😂
I keep seeing stuff like 95H, 94H, 99V, 99H and I have no clue how to tell which one I should be looking at. I was a service writer for Walmart Auto for a few months so I know most name brand tires come with warranties. The ones I originally was looking at had like a 7 year tread life and 90,000 mile warranty but I was told the rubber of those would be too hard for the vehicle I have. I have no clue how those nessisarily correlate. I just need tires 😭
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Male age 37. Went to the ER on October 16th with a dry cough, chest discomfort, rhonchi during inhalation, fever, headaches, swollen/painful lymph nodes, very sore throat, nightsweats. Bloodwork, chest xrays, and physical exam were performed. Monospot came back positive for mono and chest x-rays came back with opacity in right middle lobe. The ER diagnosed me with mono and pneumonia. Took doxycycline twice a day for 10 days.
Cough got a little better but never really fully went away. Sometimes I'll still have a coughing fit that can last for about a half hour or so. and still have occasional chest discomfort (generally in the area of the top half of my sternum).
Fastforward to today when I had an episode of chest discomfort and shortness of breath while changing out my all-season tires for winter tires. Went back to the ER and they checked me for cardiac issues and performed follow up chest x rays. The physician verbally told me that everything looked OK on the EKG and chest xrays and diagnosed my chest discomfort as costochondritis.
However, when I went and looked through my discharge paperwork later, the wording on the radiology report has me a bit confused. Specifically the portion that states there is an improvement and decreased opacity in the right middle lung. The wording of "decreased opacity" makes me think that there is still some sort of opacity present.
Ive attached images of the two xrays and radiology report in the hopes that I could get another opinion on whether the images look clean like the ER physician said, or if she was missing something.

Also, I am aware of my scoliosis (I had it for over 20 years). And the device in my chest is an implantable loop recorder.

What other game would you be OK with doing what you do as a survivor? Seriously. Step back & add up how much time survivors spend doing nothing. Is holding left-click on a generator for 90 seconds straight FUN? Is waiting on the hook to be saved FUN? Is laying on the ground slugged for minutes at a time FUN?
This is why so much survivor rage exists. This is why the "survivor rulebook" exists. The gameplay is inherently flawed and thus relies on players to self-moderate to make it bearable. Play BOTH sides. Don't become a main of only one. There's so many issues that may never be fixed, and so we NEED players to remember EVERYONE is in on it for FUN.
I wish for a Dead by Daylight that does not lend itself to abusable mechanics. The majority of PvP games are designed in such a way you simply cannot take a game hostage in the way you can in Dead by Daylight. WELL DESIGNED games don't allow the player to be FORCED to wait for extended periods of time. It very simple is NOT FUN. I believe there is enough good in this game to strive to make it more enjoyable, or else I'd obviously have just quit. We need players to have SOME empathy... let's keep it fun please. Thank you.

I go to a college where there’s barely any straight males and it’s just all girls, but I’m friends with one of them and not sure if he’s been flirting with me this whole time. I assume his personality was just always friendly but idk if I accidentally shut down all his flirty remarks. Yesterday he came and sat across from me whilst I was doing work and we were silent for a long time because I tried to seem busy, even though we’re friends I find I’m still rlly awkward around guys, after a long while he asked me “where’s your top from” and I was just relieved I didnt have to start the conversation first, I said it’s from a place I used to work at and he said “it’s cute”, don’t remember what I said after that cos I didn’t know what he meant by that and he said “yea it’s cute I like it”. I’m honestly really insecure around guys and never really had any guy friends my entire life and think no one would possibly find me attractive so I’ve lived my whole life dismissing any signs of someone being interested to be just them being really friendly. He always has really long eye contact and would bring up how we should have a class together, or try convince me to move to his classes.

I think I just realized something tonight. My spirit is broken. Like a horse. I've run out of ideas. Worse, when anything that might interest me comes along, my interest in pursuing that fades rather quickly. I get excited about something for a day, or maybe a few days. Then I realize it will probably fail so why bother with all the work. In a word, I've given up.
This is scary.
I'm exhausted every day. I wake between 3-5am every night, unable to return to sleep. I wake in the morning spewing hatred for things that irritate me and people who have wronged me. I've had more negative experiences with people than good. So there is nothing toi take the place of my bad memories. Abandoned and rejected by numerous friends. You have to understand, I'm 52, it's nearly impossible to make friends that matter. You're just making acquaintances. No one wants to be your friend.
I lost my son some years ago. My father passed away a couple years ago. Mother soon to follow. Small family getting smaller.
I've also noticed an abrupt drop off in romantic prospects. While in my 40's I enjoyed a lot of dating success, a lot of nice experiences, I have noticed a sharp drop off in any ability to meet anyone romantically once I hit 50. Women my age are hideous to look at, let alone bed. Younger women (35+) simply aren't interested.
I'm worried here because while I do come up with decent ideas of projects to pursue, I quickly become pessimistic about it for a number of seemingly valid reasons.
Thank god I have a decent roof over my head, because without the security of a home and a car, I would literally have nothing.
I have always reinvented myself, and had a fresh exciting direction every few years. But at this point I am out of ideas and I am exhausted trying to start over all the time.
And there is so much more.
I kind of just want to light up a joint and watch movies for the rest of my life.
No idea what to do to get any fire back.
