This might be a little oddly specific-I'm a high schooler competing in a Model UN conference in the Council of Philosophers committee, and my position/character is Kant. I read the Groundwork about a year ago, but I'm not super well versed in Kant. The two topics we are discussing are the crafting of an ideal constitution and how the distribution of resources should work in society, and I'm just struggling to use what I know about his philosophy to come to a conclusion about these things in a way that's true to his perspective. If anyone could recommend a place to start reading or give me an idea of what his thoughts on governmental/economic systems were, that would be super helpful!

Topic 1: Redesigning the State: Crafting the Ideal Constitution
Throughout history, numerous forms of government have been tried. Following the end of the Cold War, democracy seemed to have emerged as the dominant ideology for structuring the state. However, today, we are witnessing a crisis of democracy as many states experience backsliding towards autocratic regimes, and citizen satisfaction with democratic regimes continues to grow. Modern economics is founded on the idea that resources are scarce, and we must decide how to distribute scarce resources in a society filled with infinite demands. Different systems of property distribution and resource allocation have been tried throughout history, some prioritizing equality above all, others progress above all, and yet others state control. In thinking about the values of an ideal society acting within a global landscape, having to consider the actions of other states and the international market, how ought we set up the distribution of resources with the interests of the citizens and state in mind. Should we distribute resources uniformly equally, shall we distribute resources based on what will yield the greatest utility, should individuals have to earn resources through academic achievement?

software update stuck on 0% and keeps going up and down I just got my white oled steam deck today and was having trouble logging in through password AND qr. neither one was working so i switched to desktop mode as i read it worked for some people, then it started updating when i switched to desktop mode and now im stuck in a never ending cycle of numbers going up and down and being stuck on 0%. what do i do about this?

i went in to grab some food after my 9 hour shift at work since i just had a terrrrrible day and a terrible shift, and i work in the food industry so i totally understand how stressful it can be. BUT, i pulled up to the wendy's drivethru, after placing a mobile order about 10 minutes before, and they asked for my name, i gave it, and claimed they didn't have my mobile order.
and im like okay, could be a glitch in the system [this was definitely the correct address, etc] and they asked me to pull forward to show them my app + the proof of purchase (the loading/waiting screen). i showed them it, the woman takes....myphone, and scrolls a little bit on it before just cancelling it without telling me, and handing it back then pretending that they never got the order. they got their manager to come over, and i tell them that i placed the order and it charged me, and showed them proof, and asked if i could just have my food since i have proof that i did purchase it from this location. they told me no and had me leave the line after their worker just, cancelling my order and pretending they didn't have it at all. :(
it just hurt my feelings a bit, you know?

I wanted to share an experience I had with the admissions process at a certain top-tier MBA school. I’m keeping it anonymous for now because my intent isn’t to target anyone, but rather to hear if others have faced something similar.
When you’re investing so much time, effort, and money into applying for an MBA program, you’d expect the admissions process to reflect the values of transparency, fairness, and professionalism that the school claims to uphold. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case in my experience.
Here’s a general idea of what happened:
-There was a significant miscommunication regarding policies around deposits and scholarships. -I was initially told one thing and made decisions accordingly, only to later find out that their policies seemed inconsistent. -When I tried to raise concerns, I felt dismissed and even accused of things that were unfair and irrelevant.
The entire situation left me feeling deeply disillusioned, especially given the institution’s reputation for leadership and integrity. For those of us coming from humble backgrounds, every penny matters, and I couldn’t help but feel that my concerns were not taken seriously.
To be clear, I still believe the school has a lot to offer academically, but the way some aspects of the admissions process were handled was disappointing, to say the least.
I’m curious if anyone else has had similar issues with admissions teams at MBA programs? How did you handle it? Do you think these kinds of experiences are just part of the process, or should schools be held more accountable for how they treat applicants?
