I have a neighbor and friend who has asked for some suggestions to fix his “WiFi” problem.
He’s technical, but not in the networking space at all.
The resolution is to dump the ancient all-in-one cable modem, get a dedicated router, add a switch, leverage the existing cat5e cabling he has all over his house that he’s never known he could use for devices as well as wired backhaul for access points (3x).
House is ~6800 sqft., yeah, pretty sweet.
I’m one of those Ubiquiti bigots who love the ecosystem. :)
So, with all that foundation, on to the question.
Do I strongly steer him to the Ubiquiti ecosystem? Omada? Consumer tp-link Deco stuff?
How is the wireless handoff on the Omada stuff?
Even though he’s got a ginormous house, he’s trying not to break the bank on networking hardware. He also doesn’t know how the networking space works, so the admin centers for these ecosystems isn’t really much of an advantage. He’s looking more for a set and forget setup.

It's that time of year again, and I've been getting asked what I want under the tree. I had been borrowing my buddy's circular saw so I think it's time I get one of my own, plus I've been wanting an orbital sander (hand sanding is killin' me....). Would love to hear suggestions on good picks for these 2, especially since there may be some extra special deals going on right about now (hopefully)!

I have always been interested in making rockets and always been interested in aeroplanes and technology related to them. I saved up some money so I can buy este rocket just to fly things in air for fun.
Recently I saw bps space channel and he has pretty cool stuff on internet. There are other YouTube channels too who does pretty muck same thing, which is making landing rockets to just making rockets go up with tech.
I was wondering how those guys do that? How and where do they start learning this stuff. For example, where do I learn propulsion? I just saw this video about guy using powdered sugar and other stuff for propulsion.
How about electronics? Aerodynamics? Even after learning about that, how do I learn enough so that it lands? How do I make it go to the higher altitudes?
I’m not good at explaining and expressing my feeling, but I hope you guys got the idea.
Is there any books I should read? YouTube videos? I should mention that I’m good with hands-on stuff.
Let me know and I will be very happy to read the comments and start my journey.

2024.11.25 05:25 Due-Eggplant-3342 Our sleep is a mess and I’m not sure where to start
So my LO is just about 6 months old. She was a SOLID sleeper at 10 weeks. She started sleeping through the night and it was glorious. Then the 4 month sleep regression hit and we never really recovered. She is a cat napper - and I have rarely been able to get her to sleep longer than 30 minutes during the day. Somehow my in laws get her to take an hour nap most mornings they have her, but I never have that luck on the weekends. She has a schedule, kind of, but it seems like it’s so wonky I don’t even know what it is - I just kind of still flow with her cues during the day. Her wake windows range from 2 to 3 hours, and about 3 or 4 naps a day. I know I need to get her naps fixed during the day to help with night sleep, but I also need to fix her night sleep to help her naps. I’m trapped in a sleeping nightmare.
I don’t even know where to start with sleep training because we live in a 2 bedroom apartment. Our 6 y/o has his own room and baby current is in her bassinet in mine and my husbands room. I need to transition her to a crib soon as she is almost to her weight limit in her bassinet but we haven’t figured out where to put her yet. We toyed with the idea of the kids sharing a room but I think I will have to keep her in our room so I don’t disturb our son’s sleep.
THE BIG ISSUE is that she is a co-sleeper. Not by my choice but by her force the past few weeks. I try and let her fuss and soothe herself but she has never been able to find a way to do it. She won’t take a binky, or her thumb, or a lovie. All she wants is me. And she will wail until she is hoarse until she gets me. She just wants to lay on my chest and I’ve been so exhausted lately that I just cave and let her sleep on me. I try and move her to bassinet once she is asleep, but she wakes up an hour or two later.
I will keep rambling on… I’m just so lost on how to start sleep training, if I should get her in her crib now to start, what method I can even do without disturbing all my neighbors… I’m desperate for any help or guidance.

So I (F18) and my bf (M21) have this friend in the building. I’ve lived with her before at 16 and we both don’t come from good backgrounds, but hers considerably worse. Well ever since we started hanging out in this building, she doesn’t talk to me normally or try to do things together anymore . And it honestly seems like to me she tries to use me but idk if I’m being insane. Here goes. Incident one: friend get together, everyone is drinking but I’m sick. I like my apartment and I’m introverted so I don’t normally leave, but the five other girls in my place kept wanting to go upstairs and the two I actually invited wanted me with to the point I was really annoyed by them repeatedly asking when they were getting a no. I lost another one of my friends this night because I didn’t want to go outside with them. This has made me wanna hangout with my other friends more unfortunately and made this situation harder to deal with. Real problem outside of that, once my boyfriend came back with their juice they surrounded him without me at the car telling him to put me in my place. Let’s just say they didn’t come back in. And those girls are no longer allowed here. But my one friend I let it slide idek why. Incident two: one of my boyfriend’s friends and this girl came over and decided they needed a ride so my bf being nice and thinking it’s quick gave it to them. Nope. Three hours later bf friend is getting arrested for beating her boyfriend and my friend can’t handle her juice and makes him spend another hour looking for her phone that HER boyfriend had! Last but not least: recently we did her a favor because we thought it would just be the three of us hanging out drinking juice and she was buying. Okay sounds fun! Until my bf leaves to go get it and she goes back upstairs to her boyfriend. MC (bf) gets a call at the store from the same friend of his, to get her juice too for nothing extra and he of course being nice does. My friend decided to tell her that she could like it’s up to her?? Before asking us?? But he tells me on the way back he heard their in an argument. Great, I knew what that meant and I SPAMMED this girl . Didn’t answer until after she had texted my boyfriend to basically be her DoorDash and bring it to her. So whatever girl technically it’s your money and I’ve already decided to do nothing else for her. But I do still care, she also puts me in really bad positions when she will literally brawl with her boyfriend infront of me. I wanna hangout with this girl but I don’t want her drama . Cus she’s literally my only friend left if not I probably would’ve stoped hanging out with her already.

I placed an order with Holy Cow Comics on November 13th. On the 15th, I reached out to inquire about the delivery timeline. I was informed that their team was attending a comic event and the order would be dispatched on November 19th.
- Today, November 24th, I received a notification that my order had been "Delivered" to an address in Navi Mumbai, despite being placed for delivery to Ahmedabad.
- This is despite the fact that the order was promised to be dispatched on the 19th and was actually dispatched on the 22nd.
- When I contacted customer service about the delay, the responses were dismissive and unprofessional, such as "Patience rakh le bhai" and "bhai ruk na zara please."
- I've already filed a complaint with Delhivery, the delivery service. It's frustrating to have paid in advance 11 days ago and still be facing such poor service. Despite multiple attempts to contact Holy Cow Comics, there has been no response.
LAST UPDATE - The publisher is still arguing and giving baseless logic and wants me to delete my posts from FB as he feels he has provided me a solution.

So I bought a Logitech G923 racing wheel yesterday and played some City Car Driving. I set up the wheel myself, since the game doesn't give you any options for G923. But I noticed that it is somewhat hard turning the wheel and the force feedback on it was pretty good too. And since I am a bit paranoid, have I done any damage if the wheel was not that easy to turn and I've played an hour or two? Also, what can cause damage when using the wheel? Thank you in advance!
