For reference, I'm reading the Vietnamese version of it. So any clumsy translation is my fault! Okay, so here is my thought as I read Bungou Stray Dogs for the first time. This is the first manga from Kafka Asagiri I have had.
Chapter 1:
Having a guy trying to be dead at the beginning of the media is not an uncommon trope, very nice way of capturing the audience's attention. The beginning raises enough question just to keep the reader going.
Who is this Dazai guy and why is he trying to be dead? Was it a passion of his or is there any motive behind his action? I find it funny that he doesn't have any money as his wallet was already gone by the river. The Armed Detective Agency is where the Kunikida guy and Dazai work. The tiger has been rummaging the city for two weeks! Is it a metaphor or is it an actual tiger?
Atsushi doesn't seem that confident in himself. I'd say he has low self-esteem, probably because of the orphanage.
"Some people conquered their abilities, some get destroyed because of it." So Atsushi is the tiger? He has the tiger inside him? I like the tiger illustration. I hope one day I could draw as good as that.
Dazai's ability is to dull the other's abilites. Isn't that a bit too strong of an ability? I'm kinda impressed. Atsushi would also forget stuff after his transformation, too.
Yosano, Ranpo, Kenji, and Kunikida. Dazai also mentioned somebody being the "boss" of this organisation, so there must be more people.
This is an interesting translation choice. In English, I heard his ability was "No Longer Human", but in Vietnamese, his ability translate to roughly "Lost the Capable to Become Human"! Funsies.
Chapter 2:
Atsushi is now in the agency. Why the hell is he rescuing Dazai from the bin? We also know that Dazai doesn't likes pain here. I have heard of that before I read the manga, but it wasn't that much of a spoiler.
"You'll get constipated if you scream too much?"
????
Why does this Kunikida guy trusts everything Dazai said? He even takes note of it.
There's a guy threatening to let the bomb goes off if the boss doesn't appear. There's a hostage too. He even investigates everything about the agency, including the people's name! Dazai's plan was for Atsushi to confuse the guy. He actually did it, and he took the bomb when it's about to go off?
I was too invested in this story, but it turns out just to be an entry test from the agency. Fukuzawa is the boss of this place, I see. The guy is Tanizaki, and the girl is... his sister Naomi? Interesting dynamic. He got accepted into the agency. Not that he has any other choice.
Chapter 3:
My Vietnamese is getting clumsier. It's been a while since I read anything in Vietnamese. That, I'm a bit disappointed in myself. What's with the two of the siblings dynamic, anyway? They gives off weird vibe for me. No offense.
Kunikida used to be a math teacher. And Dazai's old job occupation is unknown? For 700000 yen? That's almost 7k dollars in Australian dollars, 115,211,734 Vietnamese Dong! That is my entire life saving.
We have got an investigation commission from a woman. Something about illegal merchandise. Kunikida mentioned Akutagawa and show us a picture of him. He is from the Mafia and has blown up an entire building. Oh damn, it's a trap by Higuchi. She's working for Akutagawa. "For my master?"
Chapter 4:
Tanizaki and Higuchi got into a fight, but Akutagawa defeats him. Akutagwa cuts off Atsushi's leg! His way of talking was quite aiming towards making Atsushi feels little. He turned into the tiger!! The illusion that he slice the tiger in half was caught by Tanizaki!! Dazai stopped the fight! He was listening to the fight this whole time. He realised her intention this whole time.
Akutagawa and Higuchi decided to retreat. The reason Atsushi was being hunted by them is because his head was worth 7 billion yen in the black market. That is enough to dominate the black market!
And the final secret was revealed, Dazai used to be a member of the Mafia!!!
Conclusion:
This has been an enjoyable read so far. I really enjoyed reading this manga. I'll definitely make more post like this if I had enough time, and if this post was well-received. Thank you for making it towards the end with me.
In conclusion, I really like Atsushi's insecurity and a touch of his flashback during combat. Adds a lot more to the character! I like Kunikida's habit of taking notes of trivial matter. I forgot to mention his ability can turn something in the book into real life, too. I like Dazai's almost comical approach to the dreading topic of intentional death! I wonder what was the author's intention when approaching such a topic in that comical way. Was it to makes the problem become more light hearted, or was it for some twist in the future?
It took me an hour and a half to read the first book. A bit of a long time, I know. But I really like to take the time to appreciate the illustration and plot, and even more time to think of some questions. It doesn't matter if I can't answer those questions in the future, what matters is I enjoyed this whole manga!
I can see the appeal of the manga so far. The mafia seems to be an interesting organisation, perhaps we will dwell into that more in the future.

I've been questioning my gender for a while now and am considering feminizing hrt and laser. I know I've experienced gender euphoria and think I would prefer living life as a woman/not man. However, the amount of gender incongruence I experience is actually fairly small. (I think the agender label probably applies to me). Honestly, I'm kinda leaning in the direction that it's not a good idea because all of the costs outweigh the benefits in my case because I don't mind being a guy. It's possible I actually experience a lot more dysphoria than I realize, but I think that's unlikely. Regardless, I intend to continue questioning my gender and thinking about this and hopefully bringing it up with my therapist.
Anyway, it would be interesting to hear from people who identify (or used to identify) as trans but have never experienced any/much discomfort with their assigned gender at birth. How did you figure out you were trans? Were changes such as hrt worth it?

Recently I’ve gotten back into making edits for fun but after completing my first one which initially I was very proud of, now everytime I go onto tiktok and look at edits I can’t help but compare my own work to theirs.
It seriously sucks the fun and feeling of accomplishment I get from editing, I wouldn’t say I’m good but I’m ok, when I see edits that are actually good mine feels like a slideshow after looking at it, it feels like I failed at something so easy and everyone else gets something about it that I just can’t seem to grasp.

Hi there! I’m thinking of purchasing the Canon Powershot V10 (bnew priced around ₱22k). I’m not really a “vlogger” but I love documenting my travels and my life in general. For those who have it, could you give reviews? Pros and cons and is it worth it? Majority of the vids I watched were unboxing and only a few gave real and not spons reviews.
I’m not really leaning towards Osmo Pocket 3 as of now (i think the 7k pesos diff is not worth it yet huhu, but convince me otherwise if it’s really worth it haha). I currently have the 13pro max (no plans of upgrading to 16pm yet lol).

Is there a possibility to have a vanilla and a modded install at the same time, or an easy way to switch between modded and vanilla? We are 5 people, 2 with a bunch of hours and 3 new players so just want to know if it is possible to have 2 seperate installs?
So me and the other with bunch of hours want to do an overhaul mod while still possible to host and play vanilla for when the new players are online. I know I can drag the mods out the mods folder if we all play and drop the mods back in if just me and the other one plays but I want to know if there is an easier way to do this.
