So I’m a 26 year old guy with atrocious memory. I’ve know I have a bad memory for a while, initially it presented itself as an inability to retain people’s names, mostly new acquaintances but also occasionally not being able to recall the names of long time friends. As I’ve gotten older it presents itself in a number of shocking ways.
I hear friends and family talk about their memories of growing up, their childhood, school years, etc. To me everything before high school is pretty much non existent. I have a select few memories from high school and college but it’s more like snapshots of very specific things that happened. It seems like most people my age can recall basically their entire high school and college experience no issue, to me I feel like I’m grasping at a few vague memories. Nowadays my girlfriend is constantly commenting on my bad memory. And not just in a ‘you never listen’ sort of way- in that I can’t recall very basic things. Example: I mentioned to her the other day that we didn’t go to a baseball game this year kind of a bummer. She said what are you talking about we went to a game this summer with my parents. I had 0 recollection of it and it wasn’t until she pulled up since pictures we took at the game that I was fully convinced we went.
Some medical history. I like to believe I’m healthy for someone in their 20s, not overweight, I eat & sleep all, and exercise. I suffer from migraines occasionally, not sure if they’re related. In my college years I did drink excessively, nowadays I drink a moderate amount. Pretty much only on the weekends maybe 3 or 4 beers or a couple whiskeys in the evening that sort of thing. My grandad does have Alzheimer’s. Having seen what that disease has done to him I’m terrified it could be in my future. Honestly I’m just really scared that my memory is this bad in my 20s. Hoping someone out there might have some insight or have experience dealing with something similar.

2024.11.25 07:00 a2z11 Local bars, restaurants or breweries with a view and not on the strip?

My in-laws live in Vegas so I find myself there multiple times a year. I've really enjoyed getting to know the city outside of the strip. I've searched hard for a place to hangout, grab a beer, and get some food that also has views of the incredible mountain landscape. Are there any places you all know of with cool patios and/or cool views other than the known rooftop joints on the strip? I haven't been able to find what I have in mind.

I can get great consistent sound thru my Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen in monitor mode - everything sounds as expected. However when I go to record, I can only ever capture a scattering of millisecond clips vs. consistent signal. Its completely unusable. I turned off direct monitoring and found I was getting the same very glitchy/sporadic signal through the speakers, even when not recording. Seems something to do with the USB connection? Any ideas? Would hate for this to be a waste of $.

I beat him on my first real attempt (I say real attempt because I died to him once just to see what boss I was facing because I got to the arena with no health, recovery items or resurrections) with no problems whatsoever.
Tenzen Yamauchi (I think that's his name, the one just after chained ogre) was way harder than the actual boss fight, and he's just a regular tough-type enemy.
Why was he so easy? I'm not used to this game being easy.

Ok , so what is the best intervalometer? I have a Nikon z6ii and yes it has a built in one but it's more of a pain then anything. Also so they let you set different iso's for say going from day to full night or am I over thinking it. And I just manually change that then start the intervalometer back up?

I'm 17 and play football and soccer. We just won the state championship but during the game I was tackled by two people and landed on my hip wrong. I just got back from the hospital and they said I had an Acetabular Fracture but don't need surgery. They said I have to stay off of it for 6 weeks, but we are going into the soccer season and I really want to play. Are there any braces or things to help me stay off of it, or make it heal faster. I would also like to ask for any tips on how to deal with this. Please and thank you.

That there is some weird GI condition spreading.
I met with extended family that I haven't spoken to in a while. My sister-in-law mentioned she had not been feeling well for a while. She went on to describe her symptoms and it was all the same as me. Then she said her sister also has it.
My cousins brother-in-law also has all the same stuff. And now a friend's kid has it. All have gastritis with a litany of other weird vague symptoms that can be quite debilitating.
Maybe I'm wrong but maybe there is something going around.

All of them sound vague. After receiving hundreds of messages every day and interacting with the person behind the profile, They all look, sound, and feel the same. As if you become numb to the pokes they give you.
He sent me a picture and a compliment. He looked fine. somewhat tall, muscular build, blue eyes, and a smirk. Once you don’t find what or who you’re looking for, you start to adjust your standards. I probably wouldn’t even reply to him two years ago, but the pessimist voice in the back of my head said: “Maybe that’s your league now”
We talk about what we’re looking for. We seem to be on the same page. He’s not looking for a casual relationship but something deeper and long-term. Well, at least there’s that, right? He talks about my availability, and I tell him which days would work for me. He leaves my text to read. for an hour. two. twelve. One whole day. “He’s probably waiting for some other girl to reply. You’re obviously not his first choice.” the pessimistic voice in the back of my head whispers. “F*ck it. I’m not gonna put up with it” and I block him.
One week later, he messages me again. Now his account has a name too. “Daddy.” I think that’s hot and I mention it, and he instantly removes it. He makes me feel that I may have overreacted last time. I might have, I think to myself. We make plans. “Bowling?” he asks. “Sure!” I reply. I hate bowling. But at least he’s willing to date me publicly, so I try to be pleasant. The day of the date comes, and I pick him up. He doesn’t drive, and I don’t mind really. We play, we try to talk, but the music is so loud. He’s handsome and attractive, but the chemistry is really not there. Physically, I’m turned on by him, but something is missing. He suggests that we head to his place afterwards. I agree. I’ve been so lonely and touch-deprived that I can’t afford not to. Being a trans immigrant in a foreign country with no friends and family can be lonely. Who would’ve thought?
We head to his place. It’s a nice small house. We start making out. And we go further. I go down on him. He tries to touch me. I resist at first, but he insists and says he’s curious and has never done it before. I let him, but just to please him. I pretend to like it. Then he tries to penetrate me. I wish I didn’t because it made everything more awkward, and in addition to that, I started feeling insecure about all the other girls he’s dating these days. We make dinner, and we eat dinner. It’s nothing special, but I try to make it feel special. Then we go to watch a movie. We’re cuddling, and I think to myself, yeah, he may not be the guy I was expecting to end up with, but I think I can settle for him. The touching gets more intense, and then we end up having sex again. But he suddenly stops and says: “So I’m just letting you know that I’m not ready for a relationship.” He steals his eyes from me. “Oh, what changed? Are you not ready to be in a relationship with me?” I ask. “Yes. I meant to tell you tonight, but one thing led to another, and here we are. It’s just, sexually, we’re very compatible, but I just want a P*ssy. I don’t like anal; it’s just not my thing.” I’m surprised that of all the chances he had to tell me this, he chose to do this exactly in the middle of having sex, but whatever, c’est la vie, I guess. “If you had a P*ssy, you definitely would be my girlfriend. I haven’t connected to someone mentally like this in so long. I really enjoy talking to you, and I’m very sorry.” I don’t know what to say, so I just say: “It’s ok. You like what you like. I leave feeling tired, exhausted, drained, and numb. I think to myself, despite the outcome, at least I talked to someone in person. This actually is the only interaction I had in the last week. Talking to someone, face to face. So, I guess that’s a win?
