I am in my late twenties and have been feeling a lot of fear around making decisions, because it kind of seems like decisions I make now will cascade throughout my whole adult life. and, have a lot of impact on my overall happiness. one of my goals is to make a big pivot in my career, because I currently dont love the type of work I’m doing/day to day. I have gotten two conflicting pieces of advice on this subject…
1, Do research on what will be the most in demand and desired skills for the next few decades and foreseeable future. Research these roles and fields, and once I have an idea of the most viable options based on earning potential and growth potential, cross reference with my inherent skills and then pick something I would be most suited for.
2, Start with introspection and really understand what is personally motivating and fulfilling to me, regardless of what society says. Pursue that role or field. This will theoretically lead to a long and fruitful career because I’d be passionate about what I do, and naturally inclined to spend more time and effort to be successful because I enjoy it.
Can anyone share maybe stories of retrospective thoughts on how the above has played out in your own journey? let me know what you were optimizing for, and are you happy today?

2024.11.25 06:31 41arietis How did your LO's sleep regression "end"?
I write this on my third night in a week of only getting 1.5 hour's sleep, so be kind if I make no sense.
LO is almost 6 months, been going through the 4 month regression since 3.5 months. There have been times when I thought we were through it (LO was doing 6 hours without needing a feed, would self settle back to sleep after waking up etc.) but it would only last three nights then we'd be back to needing soothing multiple times an hour for weeks on end.
I REALLY thought we'd cracked it last week, he's finally napping to schedule during the day and I'd figured out his sweet spot of how much nap time in a day led to the best night. But I'm typing this next to his cot, primed to pat him, after another 1.5 hour night of sleep.
So I'm asking, when your LO's came out the other end of a sleep regression, what did that look like?
Did they do long stints without needing comforting back to sleep?
Did that happen one night and just keep happening? Or did it oscillate between a few good nights a few bad ones and back again, until it finally became more good than bad?
I'm trying to tell myself that because he had 3 good nights in a row between this bad one and the last, we might be creeping out of it, but idk if it works like that.
Just looking to hear stories about your experience with sleep regression, please no messages about sleep training, can't take another person telling me to try CIO or "modified" xyz. I'm just clueless as to what the "ending" of a sleep regression looks like and am interested to know how you knew your LO was out of the regression.

 | This has been an issue to my brand new iphone 15 after updating to ios 18 and when viewing hdr contents(both photos and videos) from photos app,youtube,instagram, the black subject/under exposed part becomes a blocky mess kinda artifacts and apple replaced my display saying it’s a hardware issue but nothing is fixed. The service centre guy also has the same issue but never noticed.
