Hi Everyone, I’m 19 years old and a full-time student at a four-year university. I’ve been helping my parents as much as I can because they don’t speak English very well. They’re building a new business in a 1200 sq. ft. space they leased in California. They previously owned and operated two salons and sold the last one for nearly $80K. When they leased the current space, we were given about two months of free rent to get situated and get city approval.
Unfortunately, my parents started construction before our architect’s plans were approved by the city. The building is ancient and didn’t meet city codes, so our architect had to fix many issues with the floor plan. We thought things would move faster, but it’s been nearly seven months to get a building permit. The process has cost us thousands of dollars, and we’ve faced unexpected delays and concerns, such as the restroom size and other compliance issues.
Our floor plan was finally approved a few days ago, but now we’ve received bad news from our contractor. He isn’t experienced with advanced renovations, since our restroom had to be enlarged for accessibility codes, and says we need to do a lot of extra work to meet the approved plans. This would include some of the constructions built already with the walls to be moved back to make space for the restroom. A water cooler is also in the way of the enlarged restroom, so it would also have to be moved. This would cost tens of thousands of dollars more.
Financially, my family is in a really difficult spot. I work part-time, I don't make much and I’ve been helping pay some of my parents’ bills, but I have my payments to cover, too. The pressure is overwhelming, and I don’t know what else to do.
If anyone has advice or resources, I’d be so grateful to hear them.

im moving into a top floor apartment next week and need some cute, but functional rugs for absorbing sounds! im hesitant to order off amazon since i cant feel the texture so i figure i’d ask in here for personal experience! no set color theme as of yet, so im open to anything. my couch is a beigey/mushroom color if that helps :) any advice is appreciated!

 | Took some time today to take out my first ever built out kit (built around a medium range patrol emphasis). Practiced navigating and taking notes, maneuvering gear all under red light only or no light. Bunkered down under a tree as there’s snow everywhere’s, and currently snowing. It was great to get out and make sure my gear doesn’t make noise and there’s no dig in points. I also for no reason crawled through the snow to check out if my gear would catch or get buggered up on any points. I think everyone should take their gear out at night & eventually out in the snow or poor conditions. I hope everyone gets out and trains this week/weekend! I am a 35F, I have stage 3 kidney disease and doctor has strictly advised I am unable to carry a pregnancy due to this. We have since come to the conclusion we have to use a surrogate.
Our first round of IVF with PGS testing brought us a few Mosaics, one normal and 1 undetected embryo. Change of protocol and our 2nd cycle brought us 6 PGS normal embryos. Our top 4 embryos from our 2nd cycle are graded as follows : 4AB, 4BB, 4AB, 5BB.
Our surrogate has been a 2X successful surrogate with success on her first embryo transfer both journeys, she also had the ERA test done on her in the past so that protocol will be followed. Embryo glue will be used as well as a standard. She’s doing fertility acupuncture. Is there anyone here with similar background - no previous implantation issues, similar grade embryos after a very bad previous round, transferring 2 embryos (4AB & 4BB) , any advice on potential success rates to be expected in this case and any advise on the potential multiple rate? After extensive discussion and previous personal experience of the surrogate (both times transferred 2 PGS normal embryos at once and resulted in a singleton pregnancy both times in the past). We have had such a difficult journey, looking for some hope.
