You can’t hear my teammate, who hasn’t been grinding in Ranked Duos like I have committed to only for this season, so I sound like a crackhead rambling, but I am a huge joker and play an unconventional game, and am all about the team.
I knew my swingsticking buddy was good enough to ride with me to victory over these two top of leaderboard Clickers. DZ is a legit 3C putter which I always respect, but Routine_Streak is a nasty little green chipping RAT. And after blowing a 3up lead dormie lead on 16, we luckily get the Tiebreak CTP, and this Top5 Ranker who is just another Cotton Candy, Cardboard, Counterfeit Clowndor, misses his green chip and we putt in for the win!
Walnut and I go nuts. And even though I/we played too loose early to get 3 down, as always, I keep the faith, try to create the magic with my partner, and never give up. My buddy DZ is a real one who holds his end of the deal to give us the hole on 13 if I drain my 36foot putt. We give the hole back anyway to get back in a 3dn hole, but I never quit, ever.
It’s been fun committing to Ranked Duos for the remainder of the season. I stared at PaBogey III and I’m now am a Condor in about 10 days:

This is a hard thing to admit (even anonymously) but I (29f) have struggled with pathological lying ever since I was a child. To make a long story short, my parents weren’t very healthy or involved when I was young, and as a child, I learned that I couldn’t get attention through normal means. I started telling grandiose lies to classmates and teachers to get attention. Unfortunately, it worked, and though, logically, I always knew it was wrong, it became my default means of meeting my emotional needs. I wasn’t able to recognize or break the pattern until my early twenties.
I’m not proud of the things I’ve done. I know lying is manipulative, particularly the lies I told. For example, I’ve told people I had illnesses I didn’t, degrees I don’t, and worst of all, have lied about family members passing away that didn’t.
Most of the people that were important in my life through the times I was lying are no longer in touch with me, but there are three people I’ve remained fairly close to who were close friends through those years.
I know it sounds strange, but my friendship to each of these people does feel very natural and authentic. We gel nicely, have fun together, and offer emotional support. They do, however, believe some preposterously untrue things about me, such as the lie that I have an additional degree to the one I do, have lost family members I haven’t, and have a sickness I don’t.
The last few years, I’ve tried to just avoid these topics, and I mostly have, but I still think it’s unfair for them not to know the truth about me, a d also know I need to apologize for the manipulation I performed by lying to get sympathy, unearned praise, and/or attention m.
I’ve come to terms with the fact that they may end the friendships once they find out, and that’s their prerogative entirely. They owe me nothing.
However, i really don’t know how to even begin the conversation. It’s all so crazy, and shameful.
The advice I’m seeking here is how to approach hard conversations, particularly those in which you must accept responsibility for things you’ve done wrong. Do I write letters to give them time to process without the pressure of responding immediately? or is that a way of copping out? What are things I should be sure to say or not say? How do I make my sincerity clear?
All of this is hard, so I thank you all in advance.

2024.11.25 13:13 postpunkskank Extreme, extreme anxiety surrounding migraine?
So for starters I have anxiety, full stop. However, I feel like my anxiety has ramped up insanely since I’ve been having severe weather-related migraines this past week. The worst of it was yesterday morning into early afternoon. Now, I have a small migraine that I’m terrified will turn into another massive migraine. Both my neuro & my psych have mentioned that anxiety could be a symptom prior to as well as during a migraine. I just took 5 mg of Valium with my morning meds. Here’s my worry, am I essentially creating an insane feedback loop of repetition? Additionally, if you were me and could pick one thing to focus on tackling first, would it be the anxiety or the migraine? I have sumitriptan, Valium (a small amount), typical otc painkillers, and high CBD low THC edibles at my disposal. I’d love to hear your advice as well as some of the more “unconventional” coping skills. Thank you!

A few things that really stuck out to me on watching the pilot episode:
Fleischman's city slicker smuckery is turn up to 11. I know it's over played a bit so he can be mellowed out by his new inviorment as character groth but it does make him less sympathetic.
Four years of working in Alaska to clear a $125,000 student debt is a good deal!
The love triangle between Holling, Shelly, and Maurice is very odd. l knew she was young but it's not until episode 4 that we find out she's 18, and Holling gives his age as 62, with Maurice in the same ballpark. Yikes.
Also Holling's beard looks off for his age, like it's makeup. Where's the grey?
Maggie and Fleischman, despite that she has a boyfriend and he has a financee, I can already tell it's gonna be a 'will they or won't they' situation that's carried on too long. It's also obvious that Fleischman's gonna loose the fiancee and I'm first time watcher with no future knowledge. Shame they didn't cast here, would have more impact if we had met her as a character.
Edna needs to be in jail. She shot her husband, then stabed him the next day. He also mentions how she's controlling. I don't think the show took that seriously enough for how abused he was.
These are all minor nitpicks though, and I'm definetly going to watch them all. It's nice to go though a legacy show and not have to wait for episodes to air. Here's some good things:
When Fleischman says Stewartess, then correts himself to Flight Attendent that's very progressive for 1990. I hadn't realized the naming shift was that old.
Good representation of Natives even though they call them Indians (Even the Natives on the show call themself that too). They didn't try to make them magical or the eco-native trope.
The characters are fun, Marilyn is amazing, she plays low key yet had great screen presence. Dispite that it was all shot in Washington state I can still belive I'm seeing Alaska.
Always love the opening moose.

Through my many play throughs as the U.S., I’ve never really felt like industry and resource output matches the IRL output. By 1945 (iirc) the U.S. was outproducing the world, equipping all fronts of the war.
Probably my biggest issue, and likely the reason why I personally can’t match irl numbers, is the fact that free trade automatically strips away 80% of your resources regardless if anyone is actually using them and I just can’t get myself to get off of it bc of the bonuses.
In addition, the US not only produced items at a massive scale, but also the variety was also widespread, and which I personally have been unable to match either.
As for resources, this also feels enormously undervalued. Pennsylvania alone outproduced the entirety of the Axis in steel, and due to the need for rubber the US began to produce artificial rubber to the point that iirc it outproduced Southeast Asia.
I know this is a game and needs to be balanced, but in WWII the U.S. was the boss battle whose health bar had a health bar, and either it is purposefully hamstrung or I’m not playing it correctly.
Please lmk your thoughts or lmk if I’m just dumb and not playing this game correctly
