2024.11.25 14:34 marilote AITAH for telling off a friend of a friend at her birthday dinner after she said I “looked racist”?

So my friend wanted to have a birthday dinner and she invited her other friends. Keep in mind that me and the girl are both POC.
Anyway my friend goes to the bathroom, and me and this other girl are having a conversation. Then she was like “I just have to say, you kind of look like you are racist and that you only like people of your culture. Are you?”. I was like wtf what kind of question in that, and why would you think that off the basis of looks, that is so stupid and ignorant. I have been the victim of racism so many times, why would I go on to be racist tf?
She then was like “omg you don’t need to be so rude about it” then she even started crying right at the table and her boyfriend who was next to her started getting angry at me for making her cry, while I told him “excuse me did you see what just happened right now??” “You girlfriend tried to accuse me of shit without even knowing me”
My friend came back to the table to find her other friend crying and asked her what happened. She said I was a bitch to her and I told my friend what had actually happened. Another one of my friend’s friends who saw everything backed me up. My friend didn’t know what to do. The girl continued to be dramatic with crying and so I had to cut my time short. I asked the server to give me my bill and I headed out.
I sent a long text to my friend fully explaining myself afterwards and apologizing to her for ruining her dinner and her response afterwards was a bit cold. I feel like our friendship might be affected by this incident.
I do feel bad that her dinner didn’t go smoothly because of me but at the same time I did feel the need to defend myself. AITA?

I’m looking into buying one reclining seat, but they don’t seem to take into account existing customers who don’t need the extra back or seat cushions. Here’s the breakdown of adding 1 reclining seat to your cart because it’s sold as a set you can’t separate.
Sactionals Deep Reclining Seat: Standard

I just purchased my set ( but no longer in the return/exchange window) so that’s $785.50 spent on cushions and covers I don’t need! ☹️
I’ll try my luck with purchasing over the phone or in a showroom to see if I can separate the cost to just get the seat mechanism, but if not this is super disappointing and a little ridiculous.

So, I (29F) started talking to an old time friend (30M) about a week and a half ago. Let’s call him Keith. Things got cutesy & flirty really quickly. I was supposed to fly out with one of my girls yesterday to crash at her parents’ house for Thanksgiving & enjoy time with her before she makes a big move to Germany for work. While I was going to be out there, Keith wanted to see me so I said, “of course! if I can find time, I’d love to meet up, catch up, etc.” Thing is, the past few days, I’ve been having health issues & very personally tied family issues with my abuelo in the hospital, etc. It all piled up & I decided to not go on the trip after all. Keith didn’t seem too happy when I told him, was super short with me in texts from that point on. Got to the point where I simply muted all conversations that didn’t require my immediate attention since I decided to go back to work, even with everything going on. I reached out one last time to Keith so that he knew I wasn’t ghosting him, just that I needed a few days to be able to work in peace & to process a lot of my personal stuff without unnecessary interruptions. I left the conversation with a “Have a good night & Happy Holidays, Keith😊” and he eventually responded with (word for word, exact punctuation) “Thank you, goodnight, you as well”. Am I overthinking this or was that cold/ short?
