Just a thought I wanted to share, and I’d love to hear other perspectives.
If the "thesis" is correct that MicroStrategy (MSTR) is effectively arbitraging the fixed-income market by offering upside exposure to BTC through zero-coupon convertible bonds, here’s how it seems to work:
- The value of these bonds comes primarily from the conversion option, which is valuable due to BTC's historical and implied volatility (à la Black-Scholes, etc.).
- Investors find these bonds appealing because they offer asymmetric upside tied to BTC while still providing the relative safety of bond-like characteristics.
But this got me wondering: Why don’t BTC miners like Hut8 try to tap into this liquidity?
- While Hut8 might not fetch the same premium as MSTR, it could still appeal to bond buyers looking for diversification.
- Such a bond could act as a BTC proxy with added exposure to mining—a kind of hybrid play.
- Could this be a strategic move for Hut8 to fund growth and attract new capital?
- A bigger player with better scalability might leverage relatively cheaper financing to acquire smaller players like Hut8.
- By achieving greater economies of scale, they could issue larger convertible bonds and potentially follow MSTR’s playbook more effectively.
- If miners like Hut8 or MARA pursue such a strategy, does it create an asymmetric risk/reward profile for holding their stock?
- Would these convertible bonds enable miners to scale operations and accumulate more BTC, indirectly boosting their equity value?
- Could M&A activity (e.g., MARA acquiring Hut8) amplify these dynamics by combining operational synergies with creative financing strategies?

Subcontractor coming in peace. I don't know who needs to hear this, but Connectrac in lieu of poke thrus is never ever going to be a deduct.
I'm in the DC/MD/VA area and I've seen an large influx of requests for deducts to use Connectrac and it's always an add. Legrand has jacked their pricing up and no longer allows us to make our own BOM to try to cut cost.
I just priced one that was a $36K adder to use Connectrac. Save it for the areas where we can't core drill.

 | So I ordered my husband that heated jacket and some garbage pail kid cards for our anniversary. I sent Amazon a message in the morning of my anniversary because I had seen that It hadn't been sent out yet and I started to get nervous. I was then told by the representative that it did not ship out and it's shipping out late and I would get it the next day. They apologize and told me they would give me a $50 credit due to the fact that the item is shipping late and because I'm not going to get it in time for my anniversary. Although I was pretty upset about this I agreed to take the $50 credit/promotion. I was told by that representative it was applied to the order, ok cool. They then canceled the order a few hours later.... I have no idea why. So I contacted Amazon again so that I can replace the order and have that $50 promotion/credit applied to the new order. And they then transferred me over to a different representative, by I guess just hanging up on me. That representative told me that they didn't have the authority to give me the $50 promotion/refund as I was told by the representative beforehand, so then they then transferred me over to a supervisor. The supervisor introduced themselves, asked me the issue and they read back in all the notes left by all the other reps I spoke too. After some back and forth, they then told me that they were sorry about the issue and that they were going to just refund me for the order if I decide to replace the order for all the issues and the fact that I wasn't going to get the item in time for such an important time like my anniversary, even though it was guaranteed to be received by then. They asked me if I would be okay with that, I said yes that i would greatly appreciated that and I was really thankful for receiving such great customer service from that supervisor. And I replaced the order while I was speaking to them. I gave them the order number and they told me that they were going to go ahead and put in a refund for the order for all of the issues I had. I said thank you, I appreciate it and that definitely does help the sting of me not getting it in time to give my husband his gift for our anniversary. A while later I hit Amazon up again to verify that the supervisor did put in the notes to the order and the next representative I spoke to said they did and that they put in the refund to my gift card and debit card. And then I didn't receive it ...so I hit Amazon up back 2 days later to verify all the information and was told they didn't know what I was talking about and they definitely were not going to help me. I sent them screenshots of the conversations and they still won't do what they originally said they were gonna do.
