Hello,
I am currently at 4th of ESO and I am doing “Letras”. I am a stranger with less than 2 years in Spain. At the end of the last year I came to Spanish school and managed to pass the class. However this year all of my friends just saying that I have to approve all of my subjects this year and if I dont I will repeat. Honestly I know all of the strangers in 4th of ESO and everyone saying the same: “The Spanish teacher is not taking care of people who doesnt speak good Spanish”. I talked with my Spanish teacher and she said I have to make the exams like others however for example in Valencian class we have separate exams and classes with another teacher to help us. The question is;
Do I have to pass ALL of the subjects even though I am a stranger in Spain and learning Spanish? For example I can’t pass the year if I fail Spanish or Spanish with an unimportant subject (for generally everyone) like Educacion de Valores?
If so isn’t this a bit stupid because that means someone coming from another country at the age of 15 has to speak fluent Spanish somehow and pass the year or he has to learn it in 2 years, if not he will be kicked out of the school when he is 18 years old.

I just completed my qualifying exam defense today and I’m glad I completed this milestone, but there is a part of me which somehow feels… unfulfilled? I’m not quite sure why I am feeling this way, perhaps it’s the realisation of how much harder I have to work for my remaining years of PhD. I’m curious to know if any of you guys have felt like this before and if you did, how do you go about motivating yourself to reach the end?
Please do share with me any words of wisdom/ advice/ insights because I do not wish to end this journey just for the sake of completing it.

2024.11.25 15:20 CoffeeMan505 Mother wont help me when I'm sick. I'm currently facing a severe knee injury because of this. Am I in the wrong? Am I the asshole?

I (M25) been living partially with my mom (F60) for almost three years since I dropped out of my degree. I've been doing all the cleaning, cooking, doing laundry, remodeling/fixing the home, taking care of her doctors appointments and basically being a nanny/secretary for free. I wouldn't want to do this, naturally, but if i don't do these things no one else will do it. No dad or siblings in the picture either to help me out. Since I dropped out, I've had small jobs here and there, but I can't really find proper employment that pays well enough to start living alone again, hence I'm here. I'm glad I have a roof over my head, but since I moved here the fights are non stop and all the help I've offered above is generally met with hostility. One quick example is how now I'm trying to help her get rid of moldy furniture or throw a lot of trash she has around the house, and it has mainly met with violence, anger and just basically her lashing out almost every time an attempt is being made, even though she agreed for my help.
2 and a half months ago, I heavily sprained my ankle during a workout. It left me bound to a bed most of the time for more than 3 weeks and I had to wear an orthopedic boot for close to two months. Even though I would ask her for help, she would never actually help me with the house chores. If I asked, she would either get mad, say that she would do it later or just ignore me. In two months it was all left to me.
I woke up today, three weeks without using the medical boot or working out heavily, and I felt a sharp pain in my knee. Tried jumping and the sharp pain again. Tried walking normally, the pain appeared again. Called my mom to tell her about this, if she would help me out this time with the house chores, and how this time most likely I will have to go to a doctor and/or take an MRI to see what's wrong. She didn't answer for around a minute and said "....sure, I'll help", like she does always. Told her if she saw a correlation with me having a severe leg injury and her refusing to help or even do her part around the house and with other stuff, but she only started screaming at me. When she stopped screaming, I asked her why she refuses to help me when I'm sick or injured, but all the times that I've been sick I've helped her. After this, she started screaming again, telling me how she will hang up on me, because I made her scream at me.
Am I wrong for being frustrated at this?

Was vendor hopping the other day and while looking over the map for camps I noticed a player at my camp. No biggie since I have a ton of plans I figured he was browsing. I go back to my camp a few minutes later and he’s still there but the odd part is he is inside my building and appears to be glitching in the corner which happens to be on the other side of the wall from my ammo/stash/scrap boxes. Is there some way to get into peoples stuff that way or did he just afk himself in my camp? I loaded a different camp just in case.

2024.11.25 15:20 QuiverOfToes Winsome plus Sundered Isles

I was excited to get my printed copy of Sundered Isles but, while I do appreciate the assets, detailed rules for ship-to-ship combat, etc., I was yearning for something simpler and hand-wavy, so I decided to play Winsome together with the Sundered Isles oracles (plus some of the worldbuilding tools). For those unfamiliar, Winsome is the simplified micro-rpg hack of Ironsworn that you can find here: https://elstiko.itch.io/winsome . I played my first session and it worked great. I decided to go with a skyfaring theme with airships, magic, and monsters- a bit of Karel Zeman's Jules Verne movies, a bit of Harryhausen's Sinbad, a bit of Miyazaki's Laputa/ Castle in the Sky. No one dares sail beyond shallow coastal waters because of the terrifying sea monsters that have proliferated over the past century, so airships are necessary for long distance travel.
My character is a duelist in chains on an airship, bound for a slave market, but she is broken out by some mutineers and promises to help a fellow prisoner- a young girl- escape with her. As a storm draws near and the winds pick up, they fight their way to the deck but in the mayhem a stray cannonball grazes the balloon and the airship begins to list as gas escapes.
They break into the bridge and persuade the captain to show them where the escape kites are kept. They get on one and the duelist barely manages to keep it from spinning out of control. The wind blows them into a storm cloud, lightning arcs around them, and when they emerge the kite is damaged and harder to control. A vast island is spotted below- barren and rocky. They crash land with some minor injuries.
They quickly look for shelter as the storm picks up. In the distance they spot a gleam and approach it. As they get closer they see it is a bonfire and a smell of burning flesh is on the wind. Fiery arrows start flying around them- archers with grey cloaks and green face paint begin appearing from several directions, commanding the duelist to lay down her sword and surrender. She remembers rumors of cannibal necromancers in this remote region and she quickly ducks with her friend into a narrow gorge.
She hides in an alcove and ambushes one of the pursuers, seizing his bow. She turns it toward the other archers who are now gathering over the gorge and aiming down at them. They start to back away, but not because of her- one of them says, "The child bears the Lynx's mark." The pursuers quickly melt away. The duelist notices the girl's clothes are singed, and she has a tattoo on her forehead that wasn't there before, the outline of a lynx. No time for questions- the storm is fully upon them, sending punishing winds, and rivulets pouring over the rock. They spot a cavern not too far away and dash for it. The cavern in fact turns out to be the entry to an abandoned ruin.
That's where I ended- I was able to get through all that in about 40 mins.

I am applying for dual citizenship in Italy through jure sanguinis (blood right - see /juresanguinis for details) and I have documents in my possession that are factually incorrect which I need to have remedied by the courts.
In short, my great-grandfather passed away in 1934, so his death record is now in possession of the city archives and not the health department. His daughter died some years before him and was interred in the grave he would eventually be buried in. On his death certificate, his daughter's name appears where his wife's name should appear on the form. Additionally, this document uses his anglicized name which does not match with his birth records from Italy.
I need a declaratory judgement to issue a correction to this form, and a judgement of OATS which states that "Joseph" on the death certificate is the same person as "Giuseppe" on the birth records.
Can I do this without an attorney, and if so what is the procedure for filing this petition to the courts?

Hey everyone,
I’m a CPA with a background in tax (no financial planning experience), but I’m looking to transition into wealth management and, ideally, build a “family office” type of service down the road. My goal is to have a firm that offers both CPA and CFP services under one roof.
I’m trying to figure out the best path forward:
-Should I buy a small CPA practice, use it as a base, and build out a wealth management arm?
-Or should I leave public accounting altogether and start fresh with an entry-level wealth advisor role somewhere?
I love financial planning and don’t want to get stuck just doing the CPA side of things but I enjoy tax planning as I have a great deal of experience here. I also feel like using the CPA side to get prospective AUM clients infront of you is extremely powerful. For those who’ve gone down a similar path, what would you recommend?
Appreciate any insights or advice!

Mahasattva is a Sanskrit word meaning great bodhisattva, great real human.

(14) Such as beautiful music that attracts listeners; bodhicitta is also like that, corresponding to the Four Non-Hindrance Interpretations (cf. section 16.9), speaking laws to teach can attracts crowds of sentient beings.

(15) Such as a king who enacts the laws of the nation, bodhicitta is also like that, preaching Present Quantity (see section 11.4.5), can be the cause of all correct paths undamageable.
(16) Such as a storehouse, is a place of accumulation of wealth; so is the bodhicitta, which is capable of accumulating fortune and intelligence, the two kinds of capital and food, can aggregate and accumulate limitless juristic assets.
（十七）譬如王路，王者先行，余人随行；菩提心亦如是，修习三十七菩提分法（参见16.4节），是大圣世尊先所行道，余人随行故。
（十八）譬如车乘，二轮具足，能到处去；菩提心亦如是，止观相应，能往安乐处故。
(17) Such as the king's road, the king is pioneer, others follow; so is the bodhicitta, practicing 37 Enlightenment Branch Laws (cf. 16.4), which is the path migrated by Great Sage Social Honor first, others follow.
(18) Such as a chariot ride, with two wheels, can go anywhere; so is the bodhicitta, corresponding to Still View (i.e., Samatha Vipassana in Sanskrit), can arrive at easefully laughable place.

(19) Such as a springing fountain, inexhaustible water can be fetched; so is the bodhicitta, corresponding to generally hold door, even though many people come to listen the laws, the juristic speaking has no end.
(20) Such as the delightful sounds, crowds of sentient beings love to hear; so is the bodhicitta, speaking of Buddha’s Juristic Seals (i.e., impermanence, no-I, nirvana), sentient beings pursuing liberations love to hear.

(22) Such as a great auspicious cloud (see fig. 16.0.2-22) that can transform into many forms, rain to nurture all living things; the bodhicitta is also like that, revealing the “Eight Phenomena of Established Paths” (cf. 17.3 Countenance Ark), to convert and transcendingly ferry crowds of sentient beings.
