Night raids are a blast. I love this game at night (and the slight performance boost to boot). I won’t disagree they could lengthen the cycle, but it seems like the sub is requesting that night be neutered with stuff you’d see on flashlight. You see better at night with the flashlight off anyway, embrace the darkness.
Repair costs are (almost) “fair”. Fair isn’t the word for it, but every other stalker game had crazy repair prices. Frankly, I don’t know what else you’d spend your money on. Mission payouts appear to be scaling as you progress, so it gets a little easier to afford. It’s the Zone, everyone in-game tells you it’s every man for himself, Sidorovich is milking the newbies, and so on. As one stalker told me, “a good stalker takes care of their weapon, it’s what feeds him”. Repair kits would be cool though.
Mutants, while on the spongy side, are supposed to be difficult. It’s a Stalker game, it’s meant to be punishing. You find better shotguns and ammo almost immediately in the second region, and then mutants become far more fun to deal with, rewards or not. They also have patterns of attack that I think you’re meant to learn and thus handle engagements better. I definitely agree that bloodsuckers are far too common and should be reserved for mid-late game. I’ve yet to see a snork and that makes me sad.
I worry that GSC will capitulate to some of the dramatics in this sub and turn Stalker into a generic shooter set in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. I think a lot of new players to the franchise picked this game up and expected a “friendlier” experience. The zone is anything but. A-life needs work and performance needs work, but beyond that GSC has hit this out of the park. Nothing but love for the game, the devs, and the community.

I think a lot of posters in this sub are very fortunate in the sense that they are well educated, can live in nice areas, etc. Obviously not all, but I get the idea that many in this sub are worldly, have diverse friend groups, have a pretty nice life set up for themselves, etc.
When I visit the States I always feel that over time I regress into the worst parts of the country. I overall do not like the USA, and have visited widely in Asia and Europe, and plan to live in one of those areas long term. Things I hate about the States
- Car culture. Driving everywhere sucks
- It's expensive
- Violence. Being on edge about guns
- Excessive work culture
- State/gov violence
So anyways I just felt really frustrated and threw my plastic water bottle that I brought from the gas station on the ground. A car was pulling into the gas station as I did this, I didn't see them, but I realized that if I was to do something like this again, I might have hit a car and started a fight or something.
Anyways I went home eventually and took a nap and started thinking about how embarrassed I was of this whole situation and how low I felt in general. A lot of your QAnon family members may be feeling this way as well. QAnon is just their way of acting out.
I have a QAnon relative who quite literally had a medical condition that affected their cognitive ability. I know people like David Pakman like to say it almost sarcastically 'Trump has dementia' or whatever, but quite literally oftentimes QAnon obsessed people have some sort of mental health condition that hasn't been addressed.
Secondly I have a QAnon relative who previously was this very weird socially awkward guy. He opposed George Bush and was fine with Obama. He didn't hate Muslim people and actually supported them. Over time the social isolation in the States got to him and he became a hateful QAnon guy. But he was a good guy previously. The States just wore him down.
Basically what I'm saying is just try to be compassionate. Oftentimes with these people they do have some good traits, it's just that some aspect of their life sucks. And QAnon is just one of their symptoms or ways of expressing it.

Ok reading this sub reddit has kinda terrified me. I knew when I didn't take my gabapentin I felt like depressive thoughts and felt weirdly depressed in ways I didn't ever before (except the one year I took phenibut and ran out without understanding how bad wd was) , but phenibut I could stop easily with baclofin come to find out and that was awesome for me. But now I had shingles wreck my face and got on gabapentin, which helped a lot. But now I see that.. oh crap I can't function without this drug, and id rather be in pain every now and then than be a slave to a chemical again.
So there is no other substance we can take that acts on the gaba or vcc whatever it is gabapentin does to replace it and rapid taper?
I am one of those who is very sensitive to depression, VERY. Id of never touched this stuff if I knew the truth before a doctor gave me it.
I even took Kratom extracts for the pain and came off strong ones after 3 years and that was my most recent hell. Now all I have left is the gabapentin. I want off dearly, but I'm prone to that earth shattering depression withdrawal causes in some, and gabapentin has a funky weird gloomy and doom type depression when I get down to say 800mg twice a day by day 3 of cutting dose.
I know a lot are going to say my only choice is a very slow wean.... But really? There is no other drug that can replace it that I can rapid wean, like when I just replaced phenibut years ago with baclofin and i was off the baclofin in 14 days without much of an issue.
The doctors and medical websites lied to me! Id never of gone back to a drug if I knew it would cause this kinda sadness and depression when you don't have it. Shit, only time I'm really joyful is when I take more than 2000mg, which sucks.

I just bought a nice at-home coffee + espresso setup and would love recommendations on “local” (or just not huge corporate-owned) coffee bean bags to buy. I’m located off 394 by ridgedale and am open to recs at nearby grocery stores, co-ops, boutique stores, or beans sold straight from various coffee shops.
My coffee taste: I prefer smooth, low acidity coffee. Medium roast with notes like hazelnut, maple, caramel. In the past, I’ve loved Philtered Soul from Philz and recently have been buying beans from Victor’s 1959 (but they’re too unreliable with hours / when they have bags ready for purchase for me to do that drive regularly).

Hello, as the title states I have received an offer in a support role for a CAD engineering software. Very large laid back company. I am currently a mechanical engineer with 3 years of experience and recently received my MBA. This would be a career switch and I am not sure if it would be a good one or a bad one. The pay would be the same that I make now. I would be breaking into tech and getting experience with software but I’m worried it will put me in a weird position when it comes to career progression. I do not want to be an engineer anymore and am wondering if this would be the right fit for me or if I should go more towards technical product management or sales.

I have a 2020 M1 Macbook Pro that is running Sequoia 15.1. .
About a month ago I first set up Time Machine and the initial backup was around 185GB in size. Two weeks later (I realize that this is a long time to not backup but it works for my needs) I plugged in my external drive again and it created another backup of the same size (185 GB) as the initial backup was. Plugged the drive in again today and it seems like it is once again creating another backup of that size.
Is that normal? I thought TM is supposed to create incremental backups. I mostly just use my MacBook for very basic internet browsing and university stuff, so I don't understand how the backups can be so large every time since I'm not doing anything crazy or downloading big files.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

I'm handy to a point when it comes to PCs, built my own many times etc. but not great with software and system settings stuff. I had recently upgraded to 2 GB/s internet via Verizon fios. I can confirm the router is receiving the 2 GB/s listed but none of my devices are getting above the previous 1 GB/s speeds. I am connected via a Cat6 Lan cable of about 55' distance. What are some steps I can take to get that full speed for my desktop? Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!

So today I got my new watch the amazefit active, and I started the AI coaching plan and everything went well I ran my 5K as usual and it got synced to the coaching plan but did not show in workout records or in my exertion levels, as if i didint do it. And my watch still says this workout has not synced yet and I've tried to refresh the page and even restart the app. Still nothing. Can anyone help?

I’ve got some Wharfedale Evo 4.2 bookshelf speakers on the OEM Wharfedale Evo 4 stands. The stands are weighted , but the entire setup is obviously top heavy still.
Now that our newborn is crawling, standing and about to walk, we are a bit worried about the speaker situation. She uses the stand to stand up, and might jiggle it around because she notices play with speaker feet on the bottom and a top heavy speaker.
Anything I can do with my current setup? Can I swap out stand feet that are more reassuring or remove them entirely? Maybe speaker stands that are lower to the ground? More weighted stands? Double sided tape between the stand and speaker? Even with floor standing speakers, those tiny stand feet never give too much confidence, but I doubt you can topple 50 lb floor standing speakers unless you are really going for it. In most situations I’d use this to spring for an upgrade, but I’ve only had these for 2.5 years and wanted a bit more life before spending like $3k more.
