Hello!
My (36F) fiancé (36M) and I are at a crossroads. We are under contract for a 10 acre parcel of land in a rural area in Florida. We love the land and would purchase it to build a home on it in the future. The purchase was contingent on us getting financing for the remainder of the purchase price but we just found out our lender won't lend since the subsurface mineral rights are sold and it's been difficult trying to find out how to get the sellers to either pay to get mineral rights back or come to some kind of resolution to release the mineral rights. The purchase price is $375k and we have $260k saved cash and would finance $115k.
At this point we can terminate the contract or seek additional financing options. We've been going back and forth with the sellers attorneys for so long that it's become exhausting. During this multi month battle we asked ourselves if we should just focus on paying off the house and becoming debt free and it's become more and more attractive to us. We owe exactly $260k on the house and would love to pay it off and in the future maybe reconsider buying land. The interest rate on the house is 2.75% so it's not about maximizing the math for us it's about having safety and security. I lost my job two years ago and I had a pretty comfortable nest egg so wasn't worried but it was nerve wrecking to think what could have happened if I didn't find a job.
We're also wanting to have kids and I would want to take some time off work and I think having a debt free lifestyle would just help create an ease of mind that cannot be replicated. If we buy the land, I foresee us wanting to "lifestyle" creep and buy toys and build $$$ and potentially over extend ourselves.
The cons of not purchasing the land is that prices would continue to go up and when we finally get ready to buy in the future it may not be attainable.
What would you do?

I got them both installed, but the laptop won't power on. I switched in the original RAM, and it powered right back on. Did I get incompatible sticks? Any help is appreciated!

Ive played all four scenarios now, and also the last beta, and everytime I end up with way more than 100 controllers, I do my best to use them but they are just too many, silos and bosses in pro take some time, I dont know how long but around 10 mins so I cant do more than 6-7 a day while also farming mats, doing side quests, doing events, building my base, testing builds, upgrading mods, etc

i literally just bought FFXIV complete edition which comes with dawntrail and every other expansion, and when i launch the game through steam, the FFXIV launcher says i need to “Upgrade To Full Version”. when i log into the game, none of the ingame content i JUST paid for is there. how can i fix this? i tried restarting my pc and i just contacted customer support.

2024.11.25 15:35 Nemolovesyams Cat at park? Should I continue to socialize with it, or turn it over to animal control?

I hope this is the right subreddit, but earlier this month, I came across a cat at the local park. They are sort of skittish? They’ll let you get close, but only enough to feed it. No petting, etc. I believe it will warm up to people with more socialization, but the park is literally almost the worst place because people will just run up on the cat and kinda scare it off 😭.
I’ve been going to the park on weekends to feed it and socialize with it, but I’m wondering if it would be better to just call animal control to let them take care of it, get it neutered/spayed, give it shots, etc. I’m also a little concerned about euthanasia. It is a fairly young cat, maybe a kitten. I’m planning on continuing to feed/socialize with until I figure out something. I can’t take it home with me due to my living circumstances (and, it doesn’t want to be rescued quite yet, anyways).
Any advice would be quite appreciated. I’ve never really done this before. I’ve had a cat before, but she was adopted by me and my family YEARS ago.
